  1. In an inverse to a vampire, I cannot be photographed directly, only via reflections. I can be SEEN directly, just not photographed by those means.

  2. Labradoodles and goldendoodles are now fairly established. I don't know much about their pros and cons. These are now called "designer" dog breeds, specifically bred to cross two sets of qualities they want to combine. Within the last week, I saw a photo of a combination of a Bernese Mountain Dog (one of the best dogs around) with a poodle. You should have seen the price on it. It was a beautiful dog. Dogs are not cheap these days. Someone explained to me that, since people are increasingly warming up to the reality that, in shorthand, people suck, the demand for household pets, and especially select breeds, has gone up.

  3. Spotted on October 13 Vista Cruiser wagon by Olds Hard to explain: engine note sounded typical of Olds, but not like that quieter woosh sound of when their V8s were new(er). My 350 kept the quieter exhaust note to beyond 170,000 miles ... because exhaust components were kept up? Those wheels don't look stock to this model, or are they?

  4. I haven't used cash since probably March. 99% of the payments I make are contactless now. Most stuff goes on my Fidelity card so I get 2% cash back.... I pay with my apple watch or through the vendor's app (Starbucks / Dunkin / BK). My Lowe's card can be shown as a barcode in the App. Same with Target card. I just bought a 15.7 cu/ft chest freezer that will be delivered on 11/18 and we're going to start stocking up again. We're also going to look into signing up for grocery delivery soon to avoid the stores. Got our flu shots on Sunday and I want to get a pneumonia shot since I've had pneumonia twice before. Hunkering down for a long isolated winter.

  6. Am a dog lover, my sister is checking out the type of dog she wants to get. Spent the weekend with this labradoodle.

  7. Of the 'designer' breeds, I like Yommies (Yorkie-Pomeranian) , Yorkipoos (Yorkie-Poodle) and Morkies (Yorkie-Maltese). For some randomness, saw a TV ad for the GMC Hummer EV...I rarely see TV ads, but I was streaming a documentary on the Ark Royal and it had ads.

  8. Precor makes the best ellipticals and treadmills IMHO. They're the only ones on which I am able to complete a routine I start. I've gotten used to their settings over the years.

  9. Nice 70-72 Vista Cruiser..those look like an available Olds wheel of that era, without the trim rings seen on this '70..

  10. You are correct. I was thinking in terms of the generations. The second gen Regal started in 1978 but the Grand National didn't come along until 1982. It had a 455 ?

  11. Yes, I have stayed very active here at home working out. Thank you I have a PreCore treadmill, so 1hr of running a day, then using barbells I have at home along with kettle balls I do lunges, pushups, a variety of core exercises. Gotta keep going since I am not going to the gym to protect my wife and kids. Stay active, stay safe.

  12. No wonder he can't fit in a Bolt, look at that bouffant hairdo! The hair is taller than Marge Simpson's!

  14. And GM's Ultra Cruise coming soon is going to be even better than Super Cruise and I've driven a few Cadillac's with Super Cruise, it's pretty sweet. https://gmauthority.com/blog/gm/general-motors-technology/general-motors-autonomous-technology/gm-ultra-cruise/

  15. That blue heart was only for the Ecosport Active portion of your post, Statue. Very sly putting two diametrically opposed topics in one post, forcing a viewer to agonize over which reaction to click on!

  17. Crosstrek is hot this is not. They were great little vehicles. Cut 4 cylinders off...just like GM cut two off to make the 4300 V6. And this is what will kill Tesla. The big boys have far more to invest than Tesla...and they know how to build actual cars.

  19. Why is it so hard to comprehend Ford covering all the bases with the Bronco family, with the smaller Bronco Sport and regular Bronco? It's not without precedent, I mean, look at this cool little buckaroo:

  20. Torque is not an issue in semi’s, as diesels have boatloads. Range at 300 miles is far short, but I see it was coupled with an absurdly high total weight (many/most states limit semi’s to 80K... so that range number may edge upwards. But to sell to hardcore diesel loyalists, you need to talk to them on their own terms, not at a weight tier 3x what they run. Of course, and as usual; MSRP is ignored/unspecified. Owner operators face towering purchase costs with TDs; you can’t compete until you compete on the bottom line.

  23. Man. I didn't say I liked her or didn't like her. I just was capitalizing on posting that vintage photo that has made me laugh for years and years. And I had to get a "down vote" for doing so. Too funny.

  24. I am a sucker for these animal stories and videos, though more so when they are about dogs. I like this one, too, about a goofy dog hopping onto a bus in Finland: https://www.thedodo.com/close-to-home/dog-rides-bus-alone He didn't sit down. He stood on the seats. At least he didn't have a boom box with him.

  27. I find owning a truck hugely helpful. I have yet to run a tank of gas where I didn't use the truck bed multiple times. In this we agree completely.

  28. Went to the dump yesterday with my old mattress and a few other things, backed up next to guy in a late model orange Tacoma. His truck wouldn't start when he was ready to leave. He asked me for a jump start, so I pulled up and popped the hood, he had cables. BUY AMERICAN

  29. Me thinking it would start at 100k wasn't me being negative though. It's just being realistic as EV are priced significantly more than ICE and the things they were featuring, like 1000hp and 4 wheel steer, are things that'll make them more expensive. A Bolt is nearly 40k. A super truck with super capabilities was going to be through the roof, imo.

  31. I know I read the GM lowered the price on the 3.0L TD to around $1500 (effective immediately) ... but build n price guides are currently showing it circa $2300. Was it a short-time special and I didn't catch that? Seen it from Chevy & GMC< and from numerous dealers' window stickers online.

  37. Seen that with so many GM, Fords, FCA, etc. Democracy and freedom is the ability of choice. Buying American does NOT insure you get a quality product as American products of the 70s to 2000s has proven. Nationalist Propaganda does not insure quality. Taking accountability to read the owners manual, follow scheduled maintenance gets ya closer but even then does not insure quality. On another note, many of us can respect this man's welding project that my sister sent me today since she knows I grew up making models.
