  1. Whoa, how about that new Grand Cherokee L? Pretty snazzy, I am sure it has a price tag to match, but wow, that interior looks LIT.

  4. Yes in the Matrix they are! Love this story and all the pictures about the Luxury years of Flying in a Boeing 377 Stratocruiser! Who knew that it only held 100 people, had beds and had a social lounge along with made to order French food. Cool read for those that would love to live and fly in the 50's. Boeing Stratocruisers were retired in 1961 as they made way for the faster and more capacity of people and freight Boeing 707 and 737. 5. That photo over Manhattan - more realistically over the Hudson River - is wild. It did pave the way for the 4 engine Boeing 707. Immigrants to the U.S. were then arriving by 707s and ships, until transoceanic passenger ship service basically became extinct because of the 747. Among current commercial aircraft, I admit to being a big fan of the Airbus 340 ... the only Airbus plane I like. In -200 and -300 form, it's the closest modern aircraft to a 707. I'm talking about its size, its 4 smaller engines, and overall look. The only thing is that it had to be a twin aisle plane or it would not have made sense when it was released in 1991. The most flattering photo of one I could find is of a Lufthansa one. Here's one that was flown by Olympic. If you look at its name in the nose cone, you can say "it's Greek to me."

  6. My sister used to have a pair of Siamese cats--a red point and a blue point. I liked them alot..they got along w/ the dogs she had at the time, though the dogs liked to chase them.

  7. Help me out here. I'm confused. I've been seeing the signs, and slogan, "No More Bullsh!+" for months. That would imply those folks believe we are CURRENTLY in a state of bullsh!+ and therefore seek major change, am I right?

  9. Well, I was hoping for some more warmth, but it looks like it is not going to happen. Hearing we will be getting a few tastes of the polar vortex later next week. That, and at least one snowstorm . At least I know that will make one person happy... ? . Guess I can live with it for a while...my son really wants to make a snow fort this year.....

  12. Another state joins the ICE ban mandate. Massachusetts has stated new ICE auto's will not be allowed for sale starting in 2035. This will help the state meet their 2050 Decarbonization Road Map. Massachusetts is the 3rd state following New Jersey who also set 2035 as the last year for new ICE auto sales in the state which is also following California with their 2035 ban of all ICE related new auto's. 13. Yes, chocolate was what I meant..he had a reddish-brown coloration. By the time she added the first dog (came w/ husband #3), the cats had been with her 5-6 years. Then another dog a year later, then another 2 years later...all stubborn, intense Westies. As they got older, sometimes the cats (esp. the female blue point) would curl up next to one of the dogs and sleep..

  14. Siamese is another good breed. Many of them "talk" constantly. I don't know how much would be too much. I am aware of 4 Siamese varieties - blue point, lilac point (maybe the red?), chocolate point, and seal point. We see the beige types more often. I would prefer that the dogs didn't chase the cats! I hear it's mostly a matter of which animal came into a household in which order, and at what age.

  18. Changing the subject, I'm not a huge fan of cats, but they can be okay. Among cats, Russian Blues are one of the coolest breeds. Beautiful animal. Smart and good natured, too. Since I like blue merle Australian Shepherds, it would make almost sense I like this breed of cats.

  22. IMO, the Virgil Exner-overseen design of the '56 DeSoto face is comparable to ANY 'best' design out there of ANY era (especially the modern one) - it is so utterly tailored & refined but still has that aggressive edge to it.

  30. This car has a commanding look and an interesting silhouette. It would be nice if some of this could be incorporated into a mass production vehicle on U.S. soil. This would make for a good Pontiac, for example, from looking at the divided effect up front.

  33. Easy, considering how we all have complained at one time or another about the lack of Cadillac Luxury, it is nice and to be pointed out that they themselves is talking about it which has not happened in the past and so is looking to return to a true luxury competitor. Mercedes Benz has and always still seems to be buggy in electronics and expensive to repair. Example is that my Escalade head light to replace is $500 but Mercedes SUV is $1,500. That is a big difference for an SUV that is half the size and to me questionable quality over my Escalade that has been rock solid for the last 14 years. Two different posts, two different things to talk about, I did not pull them together and do not see it as a Bias, just pointing out what I see. Pretty much everyone here has talked about how BMW and MB are lease appliances due to cost of repairs after going off warranty.

  36. I know..it's unfortunate...these cosplaying clowns need to be dealt with. Did you see the Buffalo guy? Yeah, she had two Siamese in Boston and moved back to Phoenix with them in '97, then got two Westies..I used to visit and the cats and dogs would glue themselves to me.

  37. Of the Forward-Look Mopars, I like the '57 styling the best, esp. the '57 Chrysler Windsor and 300C..I prefer the quad headlight fronts, the dual headlights looked weak.

  43. Yeah...you got a downvote. For me, there isnt anything else like a GM A-Body from 1968-1972. The Mopar B-Body from roughly the same time period is a very close second. The thing is. I like to reminisce about the past. I dont like living in it. Those cars...and days...are gone. We SHOULD dream about them. But to look "forward" to them? NAH! ITS OK. Id respect YOU a lot more if you had the COHONES to move FORWARD in life. Life aint static... I remember the time YOU downvoted ME for WANTING a CLONE 4-4-2 with a FABRICATED BODYSHELL FROM DYNACORN with Telsa powertrain and batteries... And low and behold...you are EXACTLY in MY position 3 years later after YOU downvoted ME... There is your answer...as to why I downvoted you.

  45. Could be that those Celebrities were liason vehicles. They were used everywhere though. Like I saw them everywhere back in the day. Anyway...my dad had bought a 1986 version. I wanted the Eurosport 2.8 liter, but my mom had the final word and we ended up with an iron duke powered base...base base....base version of the Celebrity. Roll up windows. AM radio. 2 speakers. I ended up blowing up 1 speaker eventually... But I did have the time of my life with that car. Bench seat in the front. Cute French girls that I dated... Fogging up the windows... Yup...time of my life in that car.

  46. Love the classic ubiquitous wrought iron spiral staircases one sees on the exteriors of older apartment buildings in Montreal. Maybe the Montreal police wanted their cops to be celebrities? I don't know. But, from the labeling of it, that looks more like a community affairs liaison type of police car than a squad car that would give chase. With our more globalized society and especially with how diverse Montreal is, Dafuq might just be the name of a foreign exchange student in your city. When I first read it, that's what I immediately thought.

  47. Maybe you'll think Im crazy, but besides the wedge shape and the Countach being lower to the ground, the Countach, seems to me at least, to be taking some took cues from a Charger. The side stylings and certain lines of the Lambo are more pronounced and more dramatic, but I could see a slight influence there. I came to this conclusion when I saw a video from a stupid (young...in his 20s) youtuber claiming to never see your idols in person. (He was referencing human idols such as a popstar of some sort or athlete to a car). In this case, he was disappointed with the Countach because as he stated, he was expecting to see a car with lots of curves and all he saw was just a weird shaped with lots of straight lines and not one hint of a curve anywhere on the car. Well...he is right about that. That the Lambo has no swoopy curves. Its all wedges. But you dont need to see that in person. You could see that from a photograph. I started analyzing the design language of the Lambo when I realized how similar the lines are to the Charger. Its only perception tho. I could be waaaay off. (I dont think so...)
