I prefer Daniel Craig as James Bond. I prefer his movies over the others too. Timothy Dalton comes in at #2 as James Bond, but his movies are just as corny as the Sean Connery and Roger Moore movies but the Connery and Moore Bond movies ARE fantastically fabulously great. Love them. Just prefer the Daniel Craig era of James Bond movie telling. Dalton Bond movies are #3 position. Sean Connery as James Bond is #3 and Moore #4. Never liked Pierce Brosnan as James Bond nor the movies. I like Pierce Brosnan as an actor but at least for me, I dont view him as a suave spy guy. He doesnt sell it well enough. I like Dalton because as I sees it, Timothy Daton's Bond was at the start of trying to get the character as close to the novels as possible. The precursor to the eventual Daniel Craig Bond. But then again, it was probably the director's fault for misdirecting Brosnan and Dalton to look and act so wooden. I guess they wanted to evetually go the Daniel Craig way but didnt know how to ease into it. As far as CGI goes. It depends how one uses CGI. Jurassic Park from the 1990s was greatly done. Heck, Terminator 2 looks fantastic today as well. Still hold ups. But over the top scenes with over the top CGI to go with it with all things living or non-living being CGI other than an actor or two in front of a green screen does suck big time. Without professing my love for Pontiac, let me remind people yet again that I HATE BMW. More NOW than ever because now, they produce CUVs. TONS of them. Makes me miss the shytty econobox E30. Makes me want to create a shrine for said E30. Which would be the last phoquing thing I ever want to do.1 point

The old days before CGI were so much better. I like the 70's Pontiacs infinitely better than the modern BMW's.1 point

Tour-X reminded me of this and our discussion of SUV love/hate versus cars. Made me realize after seeing @ccap41 ask for his like/dislike of his Tour-X made me realize this was a perfect time to update this thread. Youthful is a good thing as staying physical, mental and driven is a must as we age. Like I said, it sucks as how slow we heal as we get older. Like @Robert Hall did, I am thinking of getting a Jacuzzi next year after I finish the backyard remodel which got postponed due to my son buying a fixer upper Home for his growing family. He surprised his mom and I that he and his wife are expecting, so going to be a grandpa again, so now extra effort to get the new home ready for the family to move into. Been using Tylenol/Advil to get through the hours of standing and working on the house. Will say that I am excited to hear from @regfootball on an update on his Tour-X love/hate at 37,000 miles. Will say, I would love a lifted AWD Tour-X as I think it would be a great auto especially in EV form for folks to drive. Imagine with the right packaging a huge FRUNK on that station wagon.1 point

LOL How did you remember this conversation? It was nice to revisit!!! And yes, Montreal does have some of the finest looking women in the world. But one has to be careful with such lovely creatures because there is a whole lotta truth to that famous quote. One will age real quick if one decides to scourn one. Glad to hear you are still healing. Even if its slow. Knee injuries are a bitch. Word play on the beautiful women angle and the female dog thing I just said. Hope you found it funny. That is how I stay young, though. By laughing all the time. Much safer...1 point

That's the ONE worry I have with getting another car... But I'd like to test drive a TourX and see what the ingress/egress is like. I'd like to think it sits a little higher than my previous cars but I'd need to test-sit one.1 point

Just looking around at all the lovely woman can keep one youthful! Having split my meniscuses pad in my knee, I now have to deal with daily the slow healing of the pad and the discomfort that comes from twisting the wrong way on my left knee and have it shoot pain up and down my leg or just want to give out. It sucks and now as such I am even more happy that I do not have a car that I have to get down into as an SUV makes it much more comfortable with my knee.1 point

I would suggest he updates his thread with a good Love/Hate review of his Tour-X after 37,000 miles.1 point

The fact they created a "diversion team" for this is what sours me more than anything else. I get that there will be fluctuations and every manufacturer will push their advertised number as much as possible...for advertising... but creating a team to deliberately fck with people (basically) is what's infuriating here, IMO. It isn't as bad as what VW did but it feels pretty close.1 point

I kinda have seen that face too. Like Toyota sometimes, BMW also sometimes uses other brands' design language to establish an image. I understand that the twin kidney grill design language also belongs to BMW, but I find it quite ironic that BMW seems to get inspired by lowly Pontiac sometimes... Plenty of occasions that last 15 years or so this has happened. Also, the new look kidneys take inspiration from the lowly-ier Fisker Karma. Maybe it's an hommage to Henrik Fisker. He did design the Z8. But...the 1970 Catalina was also considered ugly back in the day. Why did BMW think it would be a great idea to emulate that look 50 years later??? I like the Pontiac huge twin grills. I dont really mind the BMWs version quite honestly. On the cars. NOT on the CUVs. Which one I prefer you asked? THIS!!! I dont necessarily want BMW to go back to the small kidneys of decades prior. I think this size is big enough and demands attention and respect BECAUSE one KNOWS its a BMW. BMWs do have brand cachet. No need to OVERexpose. No need to overstyle and risk of taking a page out of somebody else's playbook. Big grills are NOT what BMWs are all about. Big grills only acknowledge the stereotype of BMW's douchbag drivers. There are plenty of other aspects to BMWs than just shytty owners. BMWs are supposed to be cars that dance around corners. Big grills look like the car stumbles over its own feet. Is it THAT image that BMWs want to shoot for? Former Pontiac and current Dodge cars and their owners???!!!1 point

Ill just regurgitate the usual since the announcement of Oldsmobile being phased out back in 2000. Why Oldsmobile and NOT phoquing Buick? Yes. I know the reason. I still hold THAT sentiment. With that being said. When Buick gets its (EV) models in order and available for sale (here in the Canada and in the US), maybe Buick wont be so pathetic like it has been for ohhh....I dunno, since the 1990s. They had an upswing there in 2010 or so (maybe later as in 2015 there)abouts when the they had some models for sale and they were actually selling. Both sedans and CUVs. But then their sedan sales went down the loo and their CUVs were not enticing and we are back here again when Oldsmobile died and Buick had NOTHING to sell. *SIGH* Im almost upset of myself for clicking on this thread. Kinda hopefull with the title being true and kinda sad that it aint so. But kinda relieved that its just a kinda click baity title. I wont be happy if Buick ever goes away. But I will BE kinda happy if they do if they continue being as sad as they are. I want Buick to be Buick again. This, what we have, in North America is NOT Buick. I want THE Buick that China has. Obviously not the Chinese styling. But the quality and image. Hopefully Buicks EVs in North America will recapture the essence of what Buick was in the 1960s...1 point

Only the Enclave is US build. Envision, Encore GX, and Envista are China built. OG Encore is out of production but was S. Korea built. But also @David: There are 4+ Buicks sold in China for every one Buick sold in the US. They do that by being an American brand and having that image. They get to sell a million + Buicks in China because of the image. So losing that image by closing in the US would cost more than any expense in keeping Buick alive here for 150k cars a year. That, and I think the Envista is going to sell like gangbusters. It will appeal to economy car / kia soul drivers who want something a little nicer.1 point

Isn't hers the only Chinese built Buick? Why'd she buy it in the first place if she is opposed to a Chinese built vehicle? There's like $15.00 allocated to Buick R&D. They're reskinned Chevys BUT, they probably have much better margins because they play up in the entry luxury field.1 point

Being past 50 has a lot to do with it... arthritis, knee and hip pain, back pain. Getting old is not for the weak. Sliding in and out of an SUV is a lot easier than getting down low to get in and out of a low sedan or sports car... I had forgotten about the Avista, that was a beautiful concept. Taillights are very Acura, though. Random styling thought--saw a Saturn Sky the other day, they had a nice rear end..the taillights and something about the shape remind me of a miniature '71-72 Toronado behind..1 point

It does look much better without cladding IMO. But even with the cladding it is a great looking car.1 point
