never heard of that. but might have been doing it without knowing. well... good luck getting the raptor. even if it's just a sticker, i heard that improves performance.
-
Z.... yeah i wasn't keeping count but i knew it was more than 3 Cpt. it is hilarious, but..... then i'd just be a sheep...?
-
did i miss something over turkey week? why do... thinking 4 of you have the same animated gif as your avatar?
-
ah ok. i wasn't thinking you'd try to go ssd because of your budget. you just looking at a raptor for access speeds? would 1Tb stripped drives for $100 not be just as good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395 though i have heard that windows doesn't like amd's raid controller for booting....? just an option, don't know what you're looking to spend/"complexity". edit: the .ca link has it for $80 apiece. damn.

evidently the face of god will become obsolete, by...april or may...? "890FX" should be out. why a raptor? send me a message what your name is for TF2. when i get my new cpu back (from RMA) i'll add you.

pertaining to? more so since we have a large % of our military not defending our boarders and if we can't get our men and women home we are more insecure. the military is the largest user of fuel, prolly in the world.

"those measuring it" .... as in the state owned producers of the middle east and others that owe their nations wealth to it, or anyone "measuring it"? but i find it funny of those predictions...predicting a general trend is easy for 1 - 2 years, but obviously predicting things has a logarithmic equation in error of the predictions, just like weather forecasts. "How much was that Iraq war oil subsidy?" 100% too much. if you want "alt fuels" to be the smart choice, the gov. has to get out of the business regulating where and when it's drilled for or where it comes from, along with subsidizing the ethanol businesses and others. when the public pays the real full cost of oil at the pumps and can go to another "pump" for a more economical choice will be the start of the end for oil for "mass" transit.
-
we sure can subsidize production of...all "fuels" ugh.

people that think peak oil is real.... do you know something the "skeptics" don't? like the composition of the earth... way more than one person could ever know. i've only heard peak oil as "we've hit a ceiling of production world wide, it could only fall from that"... are you not ruling out new fields discovered, new technology, and just general efficiency increases to have a surplus of supply? claiming peak oil is real is claiming limited human innovation and a resource we have all access too right now, everywhere, and some insight that makes oil a non replenishing resource. i defy you to knowing any of these are not true, show me certain proof that these are all true, otherwise peak oil is still pure propaganda. not that lowering our oil use would be a bad thing, if a person thinks that oil use doesn't have certain verifiable downsides is blind. i'm talking of inevitable oil spills and other such things.

Design Competition For Oldsmoboi'S Birthday

i'm guessing it was corrected ealier, but i prolly missed it. nov31..as in Dec 1st? -
eh, maybe.... but i did RMA mine - over to indiana, got it back in a week, guessing nothing was wrong, since it was so fast.
-
yeah. CPU problems should be nearly instant.. (1 day?) or never (many year) happen under normal circumstances. a friend works as an I.S. tech in a hospital. says he sees maybe 1 out of a hundred pc's die for that reason. I should be able to send mine off in the next few days, don't know how long a replacement takes though.
-
looks that way. i've been my-own-pc-less for almost a month... waiting on an RMA for my x3 720... should have inquired about it after my dual channel stopped working after 1-2 days. rare, rare problems. took that long to narrow it down.

Teens protest disciplinary action at Cape Cod high school
loki replied to Intrepidation's topic in The Lounge
the book i brought up... started reading it and it seems like it's going to be quite fascinating. 2nd chapter so far has been talking about how children and adults seem to learn, ..it's from '83 and the author is talking about how "teaching" has become just programming and not real learning. this technique is called test and drill... teachers that have tried it and found it pretty worthless have called it test and kill. it got bumped up to #1 read for my book reading. -

i'm sure we'd agree on alot more.... maybe those subjects just haven't come up yet. oh, and don't flatter yourself. lol usually people think that highschool ...should be a place for more freedom... academically and personally, and then lots more in college (not without responsibility). going through middle school we never had uniforms, my class was the last one to not have them, they started in the lower grades. 1st year HS, pretty lax dresscode, just nothing too revealing, then 2nd year "semi formal", is what i'd call it, took effect. i think 2 years after i graduated polo shirts were the only allowed shirts. and sometime around then, many more security cameras went up. I went to Catholic H.S. and nothing like this story happened when i was there. But more and more schools are seemingly becoming "containers for the rowdy" where peoples rights are violated by the teachers, schools' bureaucracy, and other classmates, leaving the good teachers less affective and the students that want to learn at a disadvantage. picked up a book from the local pirac, ahem, library called Insult to Intelligence, written back in 1986 by Frank Smith, haven't gotten into it just yet, but hope to have time to get through it. looked potentially very interesting. -

i would mostly agree Camino. only cause you're generalizing too much. while the students were slightly proactive (sit-ins), sounds like the "management" of the school needed to discipline the kids that were truly messy and leave the responsible ones out of it. ...if you treat them like a mob, you'll likely end up with one. -
if new means ugly, yes! hahahah just kidding, but it is ugly.

Siegen--- you didn't hear bliz has taken lan multi player out of SC2? i'm sure it'll be a good game, but doing that has angered many people that have said they won't buy it now. yes bliz makes top notch games, but evidently they're saying f you to competitive gaming and just fun lan parties, which SC has become renowned for.

i was just talking about the 2 engines you spec'd out. i was in favor of the sibc. until NG engines have HCCI down, stick with tech that they have more than limited experience with. as in, i could see GM going to a ~5.0L ohc engine when they get hcci in more than one engine, prolly be another 6-7 years?
