  1. Tesla turns a profit. Congratulations. Now do that every Quarter for the next three years, like GM and Ford are supposed to do.
  2. The XT4 is a young professional women's CUV. OK, explain the Buick Encore then.
  3. We could use some hybrid and/or EV Chevy crossovers long before a hybrid Camaro. A hybrid Mustang would be a mistake for Ford; they should reserve that for the next Explorer and/or Expedition. I doubt anyone looking for high MPG would consider a Camaro for a simple reason: a hybrid is simply too practical for what is supposed to be a fun and exciting car.
  4. Nothing against India. It is just that Smart cars are simply the only new cars they can afford right now.
  5. Buying a Cadillac is definitely UNfollowing the crowd. Two crowds really: German and Lexus.
  6. What's the rule: if a contractor sets a date, add six months. For this technology, add two or three years.
  7. Nobody in the USA would be stupid enough to buy a new Smart car when we have so many good used cars available. Daimler should cease selling these Smart cars in NA right now and ship them to India where they belong.
  8. I had no idea that CR is this biased towards Toyota. Lexus I can believe though. You would think that Honda/Acura would be a lot higher than where they are given the source. As for the domestics, CR has hated them for at least 40 years or so, with relatively few exceptions. Sometimes I wonder if they would have preferred that Detroit drown with all of the bad banks ten years ago.
  9. Actually, a V6 is most appropriate in the Atlas. No reason the Atlas should be stuck with a 2L turbo four that cannot get out of its own way.
  10. Q1: How many XT4s will sell this model year? Q2: Will it outsell the XT5 this model year? btw: how well is the GLC selling compared to the GLE as of now?
  11. Only 2Q: how many will sell and will it outsell the XT5 (this year)?
  12. Only they have moved to $90K+ crossovers rather than fast sports sedans (and sports cars).
  13. Wow. So all the desirable features are in the higher-end, pricier trims. This is pathetic. The Blazer needs about a $5000 discount off the top right now. . . or at least ditch the base model and have all other trims come down by at least $3000. . . . or they could improve the value and keep the price by replacing that turbo four with the V6. Trucks aside, why does Chevy think it can wade into Buick pricing?!
  14. You must have hated the Great Shrinking of 1977-79 on virtually all cars.
  15. So Cadillac . . . . where is the XT7 to combat this one and the GLS-class?
  16. You may have to go XT4 or XT5 to come close to those floaty luxoboats from 35-50 years ago. Too bad most large sedans are an endangered species these days, especially those wit h high-torque engines (DOHC need not apply).
  17. Probably. Depends on the contract once the lease has run its course.
  18. Buyers do not (have to) care about resale. Lessees must care about resale since that is the difference between walking away paying nothing or paying a lot of cash to get out of their lease.
  19. Bad leadership sent all of VW down this hole. No telling on when VW/Audi will recover.
  20. Now if only Cadillac would release an XT5 or XT4 EV. . . . .
  21. You would think that Bloomberg (or anyone else) would go for an XT4 pic rather than a 1982 Cimarron pic as their lead photo.
  22. In this CUV era, BMW has too many sedan variants. Too bad nobody really NEEDS anX6, when the X5 will do nicely. In better news, within a year Cadillac will have an XT6 to go along with the XT5 and just released XT4. About time.
  23. No Edsel equivalents these days. That marque would be run out of the market in three years, just like Edsel.
