  1. The bully only cares about the bully and nobody else. Hence why trade wars can be misused or abused by said bully.
  2. I understand why VW would move Passat production out of Germany. Too bad VW will not build this EV CUV in, say, Chattanooga.
  3. Actually, I am FOR Ford replacing their current CARS with VW-built ones (excluding the Mustang!). Think about it: no one really buys Ford CARS anymore (SUV/CUVs yes, cars no), so it seems that Ford and VW should do what they do best. As for the Routan, the idea was sound but the execution was not there. Anybody with a clue knew it was still a Chrysler minivan with a VW logo on it. As we have seen, there were few if any takers when they existed on dealerships, excluding those that were heavily discounted. One question: is VW build quality as good as (or better than) Ford build quality?
  4. A small Lexus in Japan does make a lot of sense. They rarely sell an LS series or a GX series over there anyway.
  5. No need to have Mini in the USA. It belongs in Europe. Nobody here likes small cars.
  6. The Idea might succeed IF the entire business model was subscription-only. Usually that means either a new car company OR a new division within an existing one. Once you have fully automated self-driving cars prove themselves, then this model can work. Just not right now.
  7. I could see a strategic alliance between the two that can be mutually beneficial. One question: who will be in charge of said alliance?
  8. I like this commercial especially, but Ford cannot afford to be a BOF Truck/SUV firm only. Mustang aside, Ford needs more and better products in the unibody side of things.
  9. An EV Camaro for racing? Great idea. Maybe GM might build one for an Equinox . . . .
  10. I did not know that KIA was trying to get into the next Fast and Furious movie with this car.
  11. Seems to be an improvement over the last front end. . . . . unlike Toyota/Lexus.
  12. Q: who wants to buy the last generation pickup truck when the new generation pickup is on sale on the same dealer lot? Especially at MSRP?!
  13. Has anyone seen the new Built Ford Proud ads? The sales numbers for Ford and Lincoln apparently explain why these commercials exist: falling sales.
  14. Why would KIA sales rise? They are bringing an also-ran product into a congested market. Also, they might cannibalize sales of their own Soul.
  15. Your alarm is unwarranted, especially given that Tesla is making profits now. Forget Faraday, they are done. GM simply does not want to caught off guard like they were with Toyota in the 70s and Lexus starting in 1990.
  16. Toyota might, but it will probably be a lot harder now. . . . unless they put the focus on the Tacoma rather than the Tundra.
  17. I cannot blame your brother getting the Honda. Toyota has been overhyped since the 1970s.
  18. The problem is is that car buyers have had little loyalty to the domestics since the 1980s. CA most of all have bought into buying Japanese for nearly 40 years now; the rest of the USA followed suit about 10-15 years later depending on location. It is even worse with luxury vehicles.
  19. It is possible. Although you can say that truck loyalty will tend to maintain the status quo.
  20. Just wait for the next recession to possibly knock RAM into fourth place. There is a reason that Ford is #1 and GM is #2.
  21. That sounds like an Escalade that would retail for at least $125K. Cadillac should just do it.
  22. Just an Enclave-sized XT6 is all Cadillac needs for their crossover lineup to be complete. No need to be all things to all people like Chevy (or MB) are supposed to be.
