    I have to doubt that this is really what happened. If it was why not release this info back then rather than keep it under seal till almost 7 years later. I smell a rat and it reakes of greedy businessmen and politicians.

    That shows the lack of commitment from both Honda and Takata to address this in a timely manner.

    With Electric motors that can give you that same performance numbers, I see the day when petrol / CNG / Diesel engines do go away once we get fast charging and long drives covered with proper storage.

    Agree with Drew, they can turn the existing Sonic into that Pocket Rocket to compete. No need for a new compact ride. AWD would be nice, but that might not work on the existing Sonic platform. This is a niche market anyway so no need to spend allot of cash. Offer an SS Sonic with the 1.6T and aftermarket GM Performance kits and call it a day.

    So Takata is forced to finally acknowledge their products sucks but what are they going to do to insure all 34 million plus the million more it has not acknowledged yet are going to get fixed? Seems to me a ban on all auto's with Takata airbags is needed even in being able to resell the auto's on the used market. This would make the OEM's wake up and address this as I doubt the industry wants to have 34 million auto's unable to be sold or resold. Time to enforce safety by denying any Takata airbag equipped auto from being eligible for sale in the US.

    So then Cadillac engine line up could be a 2.0T 4 banger, 3.0T v6 and a 4.0T v8. That would be interesting for sure.

    Love the Idea, reminds me of the Ford Tempo AWD I think from the mid 80's. Would love GM to do an AWD Cruz SS.

    Over all this is a wait and see situation. I personally hated seeing the mustang with the 6-4-8 engine lineup and am glad GM is going 4-6-8.Best would be if they put in one of the performance Electric motors.     Maybe the best thing SMK could do is take a weekend and go to the dealers and actually drive near identical auto's having someone record the whole thing so we can see his impression of each one and if it really lives up to his comments on them.

    This will be interesting to watch and see what really happens. Right now things might seem to be aligning but with all things China Owned, I wonder if it will really work out. Range Rover buy out by India has not worked out yet for improving their quality and China is famous for cutting corners so gotta wonder if the quality will go up or down? Definitively a wait and see moment.

    The Bolt doesn't compete against the Model 3. The only thing in common is that they're electric and have four wheels. That's like saying the Nissan Versa is a BMW 3 competitor. I disagree, All we have seen are pictures and allot of hyperbol and nothing to indicate that Tesla is really building a Model 3. They need to and hopefully will get the Model X CUV out the door thought I think without the gull wing doors. The BOLT done right will and can compete in the 30K segment against the Model 3 from Tesla. I also suspect GM will get it out and successfully sell the heck out of it compared to Tesla.

    Plus makes dried on Bug goo easy to clean off after a nasty summer of bug squashing and drying from a road trip.     I have to say that Range Rover only has Old World Name recognition and proven off road warrior in the UK and some Europe areas. The Range Rover / Land Rovers are garbage that consistently breaks down and I see more on the side of the roads and in the shop than I see jeeps. Their product line truly sales only to inner city Badge Snobs as real world off road users want a Jeep, GM, Ford or Ram for their 4x4's. In fact I can honestly say I never see them in the mountains, at the ski resorts or anywhere but in the inner city on the west coast.

    Suspect GM will Beat Tesla with the Bolt and steal their sales. This is why Tesla introduced the Home battery pack, they know their days are numbered as GM and others jump into the competition. Tesla cars look dated.

    Suggest you get the 3M protective cover on the Nose of that beauty. I have them on all my auto's and they are chip free even after 10 years.

    Still the ELR was awesome improvement over the VOLT. Worth of a $55-60K Price Tag.
