I have had those and I always use water from the inside of the filter to push the dirt back out the incoming side. I first vacumed it and then hosed it out. After a good run and what looks like clean water, I then let it dry in the sun and put it back on. Mine have worked really well for me so far. Thanks for the response! No soap? Any idea as to why they don't suggest a more thorough cleaning method, or are they just trying to get you to buy a replacement every few years? I be honest that mine has almost 100K miles on it and I suspect they do not want a better cleaning as they want you to continue to buy them every so many years. Thinking about it I did use spray n wash 1 time on it and another time I used Downy as they both removed the dirt / grease that had gotten on it and after drying it was good as new. Thanks for bringing this up as I have not checked mine in a while. Will do it tonight.

Saw a New tagged Cadillac CTS-V Station Wagon. They had just bought it. Only had their paper tag in the rear window. Less than a 1000 miles on the auto, clearly been sitting for a long while on the dealer lot.

The future speaks to Hybrids becoming the standard power train with an electric motor moving the auto and a small 2, 3 or 4 cylinder engine being a generator. Just a mater of time till the current small auto engines are replaced with true small tiny generators and a step up transformer to give the current needed to the battery pack and electric motor. The days of V12, V10 and even V8's are numbered. Sad but true.

Good News, The Seattle Bore Tunnel machine never stopped digging and surfaced in Michigan giving you access to escape to the Pacific North West.

No... it's lazily retro.... Mercedes has left it to age like an old gym sock tossed on the side of the street yet... they're sales have been on the rise the past 10 years.. Remember, it is built based on militaty vehicles(it's original intent). They're very badass vehicles off road and there are very few vehlicles that could touch it off road, let alone with heated and cooled seats. Throw in the AMG version and you'll also be able to out run some pretty tough cars at the drag strip as well. I get a superior ride in the Escalade which has the heated and cooled seats before MB ever did them plus it goes off road just fine and you want performance, then just add the GM Supercharger performance kit and you have a V edition of the escalade. Yet even without it, I have not seen sales slow down for the escalade.

I usually am in agreement with you and your thoughts and opinions....not this one though. Dated? Well, one could use that term. I prefer to use classic styling. Too small for Americans? Maybe some Americans could lose some weight....not Porsche's problem if some American's are overweight... And if you are not referring to fatness but referring to that some Americans are above 6ft tall...dont forget....this a German sports car...Germans are over 6ft tall too... Technically....that classic Porsche 911 look dates back further than the 1980s...the first 911 was produced in 1963 with that "look"....but before we go anyfurther...there was a Porsche 356 in 1948 that had this now famous look...so...that would make Porsche 911 production at 52 years with basically the same look and shape and design...and maybe we could actually stretch to 66 years with the same look... 1948 Porsche 356 Its fine that you would not spend money on this car...quite frankly...I dont think Porsche gives a crap... Porsche has a very loyal following...the 911 has an even bigger loyal following...Porsche must be something right...especially with the 911... For this model to only evolve in design for 66 years...and people still flock to it...its because Porsche has perfected this design...and...66 years of refining and perfecting...and racing and perfecting...and innovating and perfecting... Sure...the look is the same...but the car itself...is as close to perfection as one could get to...in elegant design and engineering... PS: This coming from a guy that has a Screaming Chicken as a picture for a profile...an overgrown and overweight mid-sized muscle car as to how the original formula was put into place in 1964 which the car is still considered mid-sized but its closer to full sized muscle in reality...and an internet handle that clearly states where my allegiance stands...point being...I am not into small cars...especially foreign ones...and the only reason why I prefer a Vette over the 911...is because American... Some people will always love the station wagon which this is, but more love the CUV.

The approved Continental is trying to hard to look like a Jaguar but with edge. I actually do like the MKR a bit more but not much more. both are cool concepts but not what I would want in production.

Both are awesome cars for little people. I have tried to fit into them and would have to choose the Lancer as it fits my 6'6" frame better than the Subaru.

All Auto Makers have their day. GM I think is going to have theirs coming up, Dodge is having theirs now and Ford had theirs. It always seems to rotate around who has the best at various times.

Come now, I bet you have been told a million times, not to exaggerate Truth is, fewer cylinders will always use less fuel in a comparable engine output, except under heavy load, where they then use the same fuel. Most people drive light to moderate load, under spirited driving, let alone just cruising. that's the theory but it rarely pans out that way in the real world.......... Agreed, I have yet to see the turbo small engines with the same output of HP / Torque to a V8 actually hit their MPG numbers unless they have a fairy driving the auto gently.

64 lbs lighter than a CTS 2.0T RWD. So, by the book - 3556 BMW is dropping from 7-series weight to 5-series weight, but the CT6 is ATS AWD weight.... it dropped two size classes. A fact that a BMW owner looking to trade in and upgrade really wouldn't care about. As for Cadillac, good on them. But you are comparing a AWD ATS to a RWD CT6. Not exactly matching. It would be exactly two segments lower if it was a AWD CT6 weight quoted above. I imagine 34 speakers isn't included in that number. Well if you prefer to look at it that way, the CT6 only weighs about 183lbs more than an ATS 2.0T RWD (3373lbs)... a car that is already one of the lightest in it's class. The difference in weight between an ATS and a CT6 is..... me.... after a generous helping of chocolate cake. Love Chocolate Cake with Red Wine!
