  1. Why do mgmt always have idiots. Let them go do not promote them. If they failed at their job, butter to let them go then move them up. Never understood that mentality.
  2. I agree, it would seem BMW is pulling design from Pontiac!
  3. Ugh, Another Dated Turd!, Sorry but too small for many Americans to fit in and dated as they look like the 1980's. Yes respectful of how Porsche has used a 40 year dated design and maximized profits and marketing to keep people thinking they have the best auto out there. So to me this is just bland, boring, same thing they have done for ever and nothing I would waste my hard earned money on.
  4. So Dingo, Please reread the story above as this DOES NOT have the I6 but a lowly 4 banger that is transverse and being used to mostly go FWD but on slippage use the AWD system to work. Also if the SRX and Equinox suck so bad, then state facts please, do not just say it sucks unless you want to clarify it by saying some other personal pet peeve with the auto's. Please support and back up your statements with facts not just useless english words. I don't need to reread the story, YOU need to reread my POST. I understand this vehicle no longer will use an I6. I specifically stated 'current X1' in my post- the E84. Which is available with the N55. State facts? Okay. The interior is cheap, they're outdated, they're overpriced, and until the 3.6 got shoved in them, they were powertrain disasters. Hows that? If the interior is cheap then how do you justify these current interior images of the BMW X1 top and the SRX bottom pictures? SRX is equal and in my opinion far superior to what BMW does in their auto's. In regards to the power trains, the Turbo engine they put in the initial SRX version 2.0 was a very good power train just a bit thirsty. Perfect? No, but that did not stop them from out selling many other brands including the Germans.
  5. Talk about WOW, came across this story on a dodge graveyard in the carolina foothills. Amazing what a man can amass. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/mopar-graveyard-hidden-in-the-carolina-hills/ar-BBkpp39?ocid=UP94DHP#page=1 The pictures show some that are truly scrap and others that could be restored. Wonder how many will get saved?
  6. I would like to see how they get into the engine on this car. It looks like even the side front panels must go up with the hood to allow access to the engine. Still ugly but interesting at the same time.

  8. Segio is an Idiot for putting money into Alfa Romeo if the story is true. That is a dead dog, let it go into the history books and spend the freaking billions on correcting all the poor quality parts that have gone into the current products.
  9. Same people want a 707HP AWD SUV are the ones that bought and own the 400HP AWD Trailblazer SS and rock driving them! I would take one!
  10. Miata, you have to settle for no space, cramped interior room and a true coffin on wheels. I value your life more and would rather support American owned companies. Mustang wins!
  11. Reread the story, the US market is only getting this in AWD. I think BMW has realized that only a FWD CUV gives them a black eye. So bring AWD. I hope this pushes others to bring Torquey AWD Compact CUV's to the market. This thing should do well for them even with blending in with the X5 but smaller and an interior that clearly looks so 1990's. What is up with this really dated interior look that BMW is using. Just ugly.
  12. Nice Review, glad to see the old girl get a new life. Agreed that the exterior design is polarizing. I fall into the hate it camp, do not care for it at all. Over all, I wish it all the best in competing in the market. I see the idiots in marketing are pushing HP and engineering idiots are ignoring that Torque is what moves a car. Such a waste to have 300HP and considerably less torque to move it. Give me a decent Pushrod V8 or V6 any day over these dual overhead cam crap that weighs more and does less.
  13. I believe the Auto industry will push all they can to move all auto prices up to force more and more into leasing as they would rather have a consumable market place with never ending payments to them. I can see the long term time get to where if you want an auto, you lease it and pay for the right to drive an auto with never ending payments. Those of us that hold onto auto's for a long time will become fewer and fewer.
  14. Interesting learning today about the Doble. Did not know that much about steam cars but these sound cool.
  15. Opel loses money due to GM's accounting. Opel bears a lot of GM's R&D costs that other business units get to take advantage of. The same thing happened with Saab ... Saab did a ton of work on the original Epsilon platform and 2.0T ecotec engines, but GM North America got to book most of the profits for those developments. Opel needs to stick around because the Europeans have already shown that they won't buy "family" Chevrolets. Chevy and Opel both may have an unfavorable opinion over there, but a German will push an Opel before he'll drive a Chevy. That is some interesting insight, I can see the point your making though as I think germans would push an opel before a Chevy, but I wonder about the rest of Europe? Here on the other hand die hard americans would push a US brand before a german or asian I believe.
  16. Amazing the badge snobs who think Land Rover is so awesome with their off road capability and yet they are just one notch above Fiat for the worst built auto's. Not sure how it can do well off road when it can barely stay running in the inner city.
  17. I think there is still too many brands and we need to consolidate, not resurrect a dead brand. With that, I pose this counter idea. With the large amount of mega car companies, Which name plates would you retire and what would you do to the remaining brands to have the same wide appeal? To me a perfect example of this is Opel, Yes builds some great cars but has done nothing but cost money for GM. I would say make Chevy a truly global brand by converting Opel dealers to Chevy. Then you have world wide Chevy - Buick - Cadillac and Professional Grade is GMC and with that you bring back Medium duty trucks to the GMC name plate only.
  18. I agree with this, after the last LG I had I vowed never to buy their phones again. I'm still open to some appliances from them (not a TV, but maybe a refrigerator), but definitely not a phone again, though I'd be interested to hear if the quality has improved (I would say no, because my wife recently got an LG she hates, but it's not near the top of the line for them, either, so I'll give them a little slack for that one). I have to say NO to LG products period. Daughter has gone through 2 LG phones before going to the note4 and had nothing but problems and repeat replacements of the LG phones. My sister and her husband own their own appliance repair business and say LG appliances are the worst to work on cheap internal parts and they do not last. Plus LG is terrible to work with even when it is a warranty repair. I have heard other horror stories from people about LG products also. So just say NO to LG. When I sold TVs and appliances we didn't carry LG, and I often had to correct people who thought that LG was the top-of-the-line brand in various departments. They aren't bad, they aren't Vizio or anything like that, but they're a decent middle-of-the-road company at best. On the other hand, they have a pretty good marketing department that has built their hype up very well, creating that top-line image that they can't quite live up to. I would agree with you that they are a mid level company that has a high end rep due to their marketing. I would still never recommend LG to anyone mainly due to the issues I have seen with their products.

  20. Will be interesting to see if they actually have anyone really use it off road or if they mostly just end up in the inner city of badge snobs.
  21. I am allfor GM buying Tesla, but while I loved the Mocha colored Version, this white one is rather plain ugly.
