  1. They at least saved the Black Beauty!
  2. Yup, Just like Casa said, the Terradyne should have been a Hummer or better yet like we agree on the start of the Alpha Line for GMC Off Road Rally's.
  3. Hummer was a great product and I proudly own them still. End point is Hummer should have NEVER been a stand alone product. It should have been a package sold by GMC. GMC could easily make a fortune on a Hummer Capable SUV/CUV. I would buy the Hx in a Heartbeat and I know many who would prefer it over the Jeep.
  4. WOW, So Sad, what a shame. The owner should have had them in a more secure protected place than there.
  5. Interesting, of course we know why the 3 detroit auto makers are at the bottom, Truck & SUV sales.
  6. 2014 Jeep Compass are starting new in the Seattle Area from $12,971 http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=98043&endYear=2015&modelCode1=COMPASS&showcaseOwnerId=100015786&startYear=2012&makeCode1=JEEP&searchRadius=10&showcaseListingId=362548981&mmt=%5BJEEP%5BCOMPASS%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&listingId=363157116&Log=0 Not bad for a FWD appliance.
  7. So with the stupid names of CT and XT, Guess one can then make the logical assumption that we will have a CT6-V and a XT6-V. Wow, talk about boring names with no logic or sense. CT3 = ATS CT4 = CTS CT5 = XTS CT6 = CT6 XT3 = Future Compact CUV XT4 = SRX XT5 = Future Full Size CUV Escalade = Idiot Leader will eventually change to his stupid XT6 since he does not understand why Escalades sell. Then we have the really idiot naming of the performance line. CT3-V CT4-V CT5-V CT6-V XT3-V XT4-V XT5-V XT6-V previously known as Escalade ESV-V This truly deserves an Editorial about Cadillac and Naming and the stupidity and lack of creativity this leader is bringing to Cadillac. I give him 2 years of failures before he moves on to destroying some other brand.
  8. Interesting, this at least answers the question about the SRT version. Now we will have the Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk Edition. I can see each SUV version having both TrailHawk and TrackHawk. Could make for some fun times. I like this much better than SRT.
  9. As they say we live in interesting times. It will be interesting to see what becomes of FCA under new leadership.
  10. Very excited to see what the different body styles will be and just how close they get to their Ferrari performance as average Joe pricing.
  11. So you do not think that Honda copied GM Avalanche with their design and that there is a market for these crossover type SUV/Pickup Truck? The Avalanche started in 2001, Ridgeline came along in 2005 and was not a better truck.
  12. Yep, I think of "small" and "mid-size" pickups as two different things. These new trucks are just not quite there for a "mid sized" pickup, a few tweaks I noted above and I think they would be set. These trucks are nowhere near small enough to be a "small" pickup. GM needs to decide what they want. If they want a small pickup they need to shrink the entire thing, if they want a mid sized pickup then there is absolutely no excuse for making a truck of this size that can't fit 4' wide materials between the wheel wells. The Honda Ridgeline can do it with a unique (and highly useful) bed design and that truck is 10 years old. Avalanche could also and there was still a market for them but GM pissed that solid truck away also.
  13. Interesting but I also see what you mean, it does look like this cadillac has rear steering. I always thought it was an awesome technology that GM needed to roll out to more auto's to lower the cost but I can also go with the CT6 having it to get it started again.
  14. This is great news for younger people looking for a deal on a low mileage returned leased auto where they could afford a new lower end auto like an Acadia, but can get a Fully Loaded Denali Acadia for the same price with only 20-30K miles on it. Sweet.
  15. They could become a History Foot note as the over capacity in production in Europe shows that something has to give and either everyone cuts back laying off people and manufacturing or some companies go away. Interesting times we live in.
  16. Is the 2.0 T the same one that is in the CTS? If so there had to be something wrong with mine as the gas mileage was terrible and even in sport mode, the turbo lag was noticeable and pathetic. Was not impressed.
  17. This would be good especially if they use the new VOLT platform to build a Hybrid version!
  18. I actually agree with CarGuy on allot of his points. The mid size trucks are a JOKE! While I like the video and the truck is nice, GM should have gone Mini Truck and made a quality one at that. With Mid size trucks crossing over so heavily into full size trucks, GM missed the fact that every day more and more cities are taking away full size parking spaces and replacing them with stupid compact parking and more bike lanes. Yet people still need to haul stuff and as such a Mini Pickup Truck would have been an outstanding truck to have instead with a durable CNG engine and Duramax Engine. GM could have done this so much better than they did. So in this way I do find that this truck was half assed created by a group of people that looked at a narrow view of what trucks were really needed. The first Truck company to do TRUE MINI PICKUPS Green CNG/Clean Bio Diesel will win with their full size pickup line. RAM - Are you Listening? You can put GM and FORD to shame by having a True Mini Pickup Truck Line and the Full size RAM line!
  19. Lets also start with the failure of Colleges both private and Public. When did the president of the college and the football couch be worth millions a year and outrageous cost of college. Make college football tickets pay for all staff salaries and football scholarships. Stop making the regular college person pay for these over rated over paid people. Get College right sided as to the real cost for an education and stop wasting money on sports and social do goody crap. We need people educated in the sciences, engineering, medical etc. Not everyone is also cut out for College and in this case a better way would be trade school. We need to be having the career resource centers in middle and high school talking to kids about the choices of college education or trade school. Internships / Apprenticeships are very solid career choices. End result is that you cannot live on a High school education or lack of one. Everyone should always be going onto college, trade school or Apprenticeships. In response to those that think minimum wage should be $15 hr. Wake up you are creating artificial Inflation! There is no real world living wage. Entry level wage is to allow young inexperienced people to get a job, prove themselves and move up to better paying jobs. BACK ON SUBJECT - AGE! I plan to work till 70 and beyond, I see no reason to retire and do nothing. Today's cost does not really allow it except for those in the top 10% bracket. As such, working today and 24 years from now could be totally different. I do not expect to need my current job, but that does not mean I do not have knowledge that can be passed onto others by working in a lower paying job helping others to gain skills to grow their career. Retirement also does not mean to do nothing. Many things can be done to stay mentally alert and physically fit while working and helping others. AGE and AUTO's. - I am probably going to ruffle a few feathers as I do believe a car company can get people in at the low end and eventually grow them into higher level auto's. A car line can have a customer base that covers from 20's to 70's, but they need to have clear division of style and marketing. 25 - 35 year old 36 - 55 year old 56 - 65 year old 66 and above This is how I see the age areas based on your first group usually being single, then married and starting families, established families and then back to empty nest group. Our activities and things we do change so I feel design style, marketing, etc needs to be adjusted for each group. Current Marketing by car companies STINKS! They do group bulk marketing trying to gather everyone and they ignore that we are all at different stages in our lives. Be it Cadillac, Buick, Chevy or GMC. They need to market to the stages people are at in life and realize that some times we go up to a certain need of vehicle and then back down to a simpler choice and that can also include going from gerneral style of car, suv or truck to luxury and back again. If GM wants to market their 4 product lines across everyone, then they need to realize that the products need to stay in select areas. Chevy, Singles and familes and workers needing a work truck GMC, singles, families wanting a more luxury version than Chevy. Buick mid luxury for more successful singles and established families who want a bit more luxury. Cadillac, singles, families who want the best and can afford it. People who also have grown their career and want to make a statement. I am sure if I thought on this more I could define it even better, but GM needs to get with a better marketing program and show the way or plan to go with reducing name plates and do it all within a single family product line. Example China Gets Buick for entry to mid luxury and Cadillac as the top of the line. US get Chevy for entry to mid luxury with Cadillac as the top of the line. Europe gets Opal for Entry to Mid Luxury and Cadillac as the top of the line. GM could save millions if not billions by simplifying their product line and showing people a quality product line to enjoy.
  20. Ford is overloaded with Debt and I wonder how long before they have to declare bankruptcy and clean house of legacy pensions that cannot be maintained and debt that is killing them. Ford should have done what GM and Chrysler did to clean house and start over.
  21. Agreed, we need to stop all the socialist crap of having graduations for getting out of 5th grade, 6th grade etc. Stop saying everyone is a winner. Competition is and always will have winners and loser's. FACT! We need generations that will compete to be the best not accept mediocrity of society and feel everyone should be the same. Communism and Socialism are failures. Hybrid is what it is as Pure capitalism also fails. Some safety nets are needed but short term and by all means knock off the you can live on the gov crap.
  22. Excuses, Excuses, they have already fufilled Mini faithfull demand. Now they are trying to figure out how to sell the same auto on a different message when most people that want small micro compacts have them. I do not see the release of 2015 models causing that big of a sales jump.
  23. So Drew then do you think this is his legacy of where he left product and sales? If so that would tend to tell me that he did not do a very good job of building a bullpen of mgrs that could take over and keep things growing.
  24. Interesting, they will have to really work on their design language as there is nothing they make that is of interest to me.
