  1. I would agree with you Drew, I think for most of us, we have found that the normal non fancy plugs work just fine. After I had gone through the fancy plugs and never really saw a difference in performance or mileage, I went back to the less expensive plugs. No need to waste money.
  2. I see and understand the points you are making. I have wondered why a supported Corvette group that clearly has done some R&D has not garnered more attention from GM. Either they have totally been overlooked or GM is watching but not commenting on it. I would love to hear from some GM Motor engineers on their thoughts about this V4 engine. It would be great if Katech could produce some Torque charts to show how it flows and where in this engine. If it is at a high RPM, then that would tend to show why this motor is popular with motorcycles and why Motus has been successful with it as bike riders do love to rev. If I had the extra cash, I would love to buy the V4 crate motor and put it into a kit car and see just how efficient I could get it to go on CNG.
  3. Very eye opening to hear they have people with all these patents and none have made it into an auto that we can buy. Great to hear he is working to change the culture, speed up getting these ideas to market and revolutionize GM. Hopefully he will realize that the package size of a V4 would make sense for GM. Far more benefit than sticking to the straight 4 banger. GM SHOULD and COULD shock the world by taking what Katech has done and commercializing it into a massive move of space efficient powerful engines for their auto lines. Mr. Akerson, Move to a lite Alpha type platform with a V4 engine and kill the competition. PLEASE!!!
  4. Congrats, Nice car for the compact segment. I like Drew find this and all Jellybean shaped cars to not be my cup of tea, but then at 6'6" tall, most cars are not my cup of tea as they are not roomy, comfy and quiet enough for me. If I was to pick a car, right now either a CTS-V coupe or an XLS with the TTv6 since I cannot get a real motor, aka V8. I will have to give kudo's that this is an over all amazing package. Kia does put value into their auto's.
  5. Specifically from Cherry Motors as I have seen them on their own cars when traveling there for business. I think the whole Concept was not well executed. Agree, Chrysler and Ford. I have found them to work fine in my Suburban, but other than GM, other auto's I have tried Bosch in have always not run very well with them.
  6. Very cool sites Ingama, thanks for sharing.
  7. Hyper, I have to disagree with you on the V4 reasoning. GM would not have to invest Billions to Create the V4, one of their licensed Corvette Racing and engine builders have already done the work and has a Solution GM needs to pick up and use. http://www.katechengines.com/engineering/katech-v4/ If you have Driven a Motus Motorcycle which comes with the Katech V4 engine based on chopping a Corvette V8 in half you would be amazed at how silky smooth and powerful this engine is. Katech sells a Crate version of the V4 for anyone with almost 400HP/lbs. It really is an amazing engine that is not turbo or supercharged. Proves that the Pushrod V4 cannot only deliver amazing gas mileage but also performance. Great Idea Dwight, I think this would be a hit for GM and they could easily expand this through other versions for Buick and Cadillac.
  8. Today at the Lynnwood Taco Time there was a huge car show, just about anything one could think of was there and I was without my camera or smartphone running an errand. Teaches me to never leave home without it.
  9. Why not build with Chrysler, Dodge or Jeep for this. Maerati is not a high volume builder of these kinds of cars not if you are wanting to be a volume player. Seems they are on a slow death march with this brand.
  10. I'll admit, the mileage was a little off-putting at first. The more I checked the Jeep out in depth, though, the more I could tell it really wasn't horribly abused. I'm almost convinced that someone was beyond determined to drive this Jeep until they were on their death bed. Like I said earlier, I've driven and owned XJs with fewer miles that were in far worse condition than this one. It's also neat that I have plenty of reciepts, warranty cards (for the aftermarket stuff), and all of the original books for my Jeep. That's just further proof that it came from a loving home. Usually, someone would've just thrown that stuff away or misplaced it by this point. That's good to have...I've kept a file w/ 13 years of receipts on all the maintenance and repairs that have been done on mine. I do think about driving mine until it falls apart...150k is the next milestone, then 200k...or maybe I should trade it on a Prius as friends have recommended.. :fryingpan: :fryingpan: For the Prius WiseCrack! Yeah, I don't think I'll be doing that...I'm leaning towards a Charger or 300 for my next ride... Very Cool, Both are Awesome cars!

  12. Very cool and I totally agree. Better to push back 1yr than to lay an egg. Let the dreaming begin of what might show up. Hybrid power train, EV model, another alternative fuel version?
  13. Since I have not been in a Lexus LS is the ride like a Float ride of America or a bit firmer but clearly as you state in your review not a driving machine of the Germans. I truly do not remember what the VW Paeton was like since it was so long ago that I test drove one and found no room for a big person like me.
  14. Thanks Dwight, that is great info as I never really understood it myself till know. Appreciate the time to teach us this.
  15. I like this, wonder if the engine would be workable at higher compression for CNG?
  16. GM really needs to consider a price cut on VOLTS and an expansion to other platforms of this power train. Roomy mid size awd CUV with this powertrain would be perfect for my wife and I suspect allot of other people who want this. Course it is very interesting that NO ONE is willing to talk about just how much CO2 is produced to make one of these battery packs that allows a person to drive green. Last time I researched into this, one battery pack produced the equal amount of CO2 to driving a compact petrol car for 10 years give or take a year depending on driving habits.
  17. Interesting that there are many versions of what people think this SUV will look like and I have to say I think they will have a hit on their hands. I am excited to see what they come up with.
  18. Yea you do not need the rub of a 50 year old coke whore. Better to go with an amazon rub.
  19. Very enlightening. Thanks for the overview.
  20. Great review, interesting placement of the hood lifting struts. Over all I see a take of the BMW body style and the fit and finish based on the photo's looks good. Question for you, did they have anyone over 6'2" tall to sit in the back seat as the picture shows the head rest really close to the ceiling and while the foot room looks good, my gut tells me that once 6'6" tall me got set in the front seat, no one tall could sit in the back seat. Also does that dial on the rear control panel work like the BMW joystick control or is it really far easier to use as I find the BMW interface to be very confusing and not user friendly with their joystick. My other questions is that you say this is no driving machine like the Germans, so is it as soft as the Cadillacs of old float ride or a bit stiffer. Since I have not driven a Lexus in a while I really only have reference to American Float luxury cars like the Town Car or DTS. Where does the ride fit in comparison to these auto's Two grammar items that just do not read right to me. Taking off from the technical center to begin the drive, I found the Equus to very spritely. I believe we are missing "be" Making a pass or merging onto a freeway was no sweat. This just reads weird in the paragraph, maybe changing to "Passing or merging onto a freeway was no sweat."
