Sadly this is due to the politicians and lawyers. Blame all those people who are not willing to take accountability for their own actions. Lawyers have so many people in the "It is not my fault" that it has driven variety away.

Car list: 85-87 Areo Monte Carlo SS in black or Maroon. Custom Duramax Diesel converted 93-96 Suburban SLE, do not like what they did to the interior in 97-99 models. 68 or 69 Camero 57 Chevy Belair 70's Cougar GMC Syclone GMC Typhoon 2001 - 2004 Chevy or GMC Dually 1 ton Duramax Pickup 50's era GMC Truck Current model ZR1 Corvette Current Model GT500 mustang Current Model ZL1 Camero Current Model Challenger 2001 AWD RT Durango for my daughter. Yep, I will pass on all the exotics except for one. Customized R34 Skyline. This is one asian car I loved and drove while going to college in Japan, would love to have one here. I have to agree with you, I always seem to blank out on the older cars before 1960, but I would love a chopped 49-50 Merc, There is something very sexy about the design.

This good news for Mazda, thought I still do not see them as a stand alone player in the long run. Weird part is that everything I read on their web site really did not give me a clear picture of what SkyActive technology really is till I read this older story on it and now feel I have a good grasp on what this is all about. http://www.autoweek.com/article/20110805/CARREVIEWS/110809919 Masda really needs to change their marketing as their commercials leave one still wondering just what the hell is SkyActive technology? I figure if a gear head like me is left to search for better answers, how is my wife who watched the same commercials and asked what were they trying to sell me? A car or something else called SkyActive technology? That right there tells you their marketing is a failure.

Seems the fire sales at VW dealerships is working to take market share, but I wonder at what expense to the long term life of the company? Stopped by the VW dealership lot last night and was not that impressed with the Passat. I do not see what people get excited about in these bland appliances.

Sales: July 2012 - General Motors
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2012 Sales Archive
As expected but I am excited for the new models later this year. Fleet sales I expect to continue to drop off as long as the economy stays weak. -
While Ford Sales are up, I wonder how their big recent recalls will affect them for the 2nd half of the year.

Understandable that Dodge has the slowest growth when you consider that building and need for new trucks is way off. Still good to see all divisions are positive. Wish they would not include Fiat in their sales reort.

This is good news for Audi and expected as they have great design language and some rather catchy ads that make one want to check out their autos

Wonder how many family mice will still call you Doofus once you have your wall of Fortitude built!

ATS Results are in and They are Good Very Good!
G. David Felt replied to hyperv6's topic in Cadillac
I agree with you HyperV6 about the balance, but just as we have seen BMW move batteries to the rear of the car and other components, I suspect if the ATS goes with a V8 or the TTV6 they will find things they do not need up front and move it to the back under the rear seat or somewhere in the trunk area to keep the 50/50 balance. This way they can truly build a M3 Crusher! -
Wow, I think someone could do a better animation at home than this OSCAR flick.

I dunno... my cousins are all the wrong gender to even consider it. Keep in mind, that its a social norm that has been forced on us in the last 100 years based on questionable research. Just like the last 100 years of brainwashing by shaving companies to be clean shaven for hygienic reasons... which modern research disagrees with. Or how most Americans would never dream of eating a grub or a rat, but its a food staple in other countries. Mmmm... seared rat on a stick... just like mom used to make. The simple fact is that at one point in relatively recent history (within the last 100K years), humans were nearly extinct, with small population pockets (less than a few hundred... total worldwide population between 5-10K) surviving for long periods in isolation. A lot of inbreeding would have to have happened in that time frame, and yet we seem to have grown stronger from that point. Well, its weird to both of us, as we, for the most parts, share the same accepted norms... but its not universal in the world, or over time. Anyway, even though first cousins might be legally considered incest, I consider it only to be between people who share (or are) a parent... and for the most part, this is likely to have been nearly universally taboo for a long time. In the meantime, there has been much research in the science of attraction (pheromones and such) and one of proposed purposes is that pheromonal attraction is also a sign of genetic compatibility, so that people who are closely related, who would produce genetically defective offspring would not be attracted to one another in the first place, as the pheromones are working at a subconscious level... e.g., causing that "kissing your sister" kind of reaction. Very interesting info, thank you for posting your response. In regards to the shaving thing, I think there are some of us that just have more sensitive skin. I have had beards before especially during the winter skiing season and while it can keep your face warmer, it just bugs the heck out of me and I am always scratching it. Yet my dad can wear a beard for ever and never bother him. Just like the Pheromones, I think some guys are meant to have facial hair and others are not. Then with the increase in swimming competitions, so many people love a smooth body man or woman, so all the body hair goes bye bye. Go figure, some like it smooth, some like it hairy!

SWEET That rocks and would Rock in an ATS-V -
Yea, I think it is supposed to be 20mpg average which totaly sucks but then look at the bland boring car. Maybe the buyers are too hung up on a name to care.

Chevrolet News:How Much For The Camaro 1LE, ZL1 Convertible?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Very true about the I want but do not want to work. The Entitlement crowd is what the kids and college kids are today. I have never understood how a person could think they are owed this from the day they were born, but parents are to blame for spoiling kids to become this way. -
While I love the El Camino, I would love to have the Chevrolet Corvair Rampside

I like what I am reading and find it funny at how well they did an S class body cover, but you can clearly see the work going on to take it to the next logical evolution. Should be cool to see what they end up with. If money was not an issue, I think it would be fun to have one of these flying spurs in a Ruby Red color or a Metallic black with Black Chrome rims.

Interesting to read the XTS reviews that seem to be contradictory of the Journalist. http://cars.about.com/od/cadillac/fr/2013-Cadillac-Xts-Review.htm He likes it but wants it replaced asap. Yet he loves to drive the XTS fast as it is fun. Go figure.

Sweet to see auto journalist that say they like the ATS over the BMW. http://cars.about.com/od/cadillac/fr/2013-Cadillac-Ats-Review.htm Great review on the ATS. -
Nissan News: Rumorpile: Nissan GT-R's Future In Question
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
That would be cool to read and see with pictures of what they are doing. -
The Lexus hybrid has more gears, more cams, and is probably heavier, though. It might have some cool technology, but the passion is NOT there. It is dull, boring, dry, dead on arrival in the passion sense.

Chevrolet News:How Much For The Camaro 1LE, ZL1 Convertible?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
that requires comments only appropriate for the politics forum. Yea, was not thinking politics at the time of my comment just that we seem to need a major reset on a global level to get things back into balance. I love many of the new auto's and especially the performance side, but also have to wonder when we have pushed the price outside of the target zone for the masses. I know that we need stepping stones for people to move up, but until they have must have entery level products that a working high school student or college student can really afford, it seems we have lost that ability. Part of this is due to all the excessive safety requirements on cars. Yes I would agree that a higher performance Camero should have the side airbags, head bags, roll cage, auto fire extinguisher system, racing cell fuel tank, etc. you get the point I am making that safety should be there, but at various levels based on the type of car. If they could have a Mini Camero that is 2 person only, half to 2/3rds the current body weight with a 2.5L turbo motor that can be sold ala cart to teens with a starting price of about 12-14K I think GM would have a hit on their hands.
