Europe as well as asia had displacement taxes and they are all looking to up them to push the autos into EV mode. I think they do not sell enough to justify the high cost and even the rich while many here say they do not care about the tax or gas price, actually do. Just sad that european automakers can only look at 20 to 30 miles on pure electricity. when it has been proven you can do so much better. Pathetic engineering and vision by these companies.

Agree TOTALLY! The concept had me interested, this warmed over refresh is just Meh, I bet still tight back seating which means the Escalade beats this as a luxury SUV. Yes SMK, G-Wagon has better offroad capabilities that I think these sales only help them to reduce R&D for the military version as you never see the G-Wagon off road much if ever except for the extreme videos on YouTube.

December 2017: General Motors Co.
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
Sorry it was not clear, pinched nerves in my hips and low back distracting me this week. Yes it does happen sometimes, but mostly no, you do not find the upgrading in the same badge that I have seen.- 48 replies

Climate Change says it will be underwater soon and naysayers say it will always be there as is. Been in drought mode, so gotta think about alternative places to live.

December 2017: General Motors Co.
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
BullShit! Calling you out, feeder base of Tahoe owners does NOT INSURE they will end up buying an Escalade. To many stories on the internet and too many facts to prove that cheap versions of a badge do not end up as high end purchases of the same badge. Chevy Buyers rarely cross shop and compare with cadillac. Same with Smart buyers cross shopping MB etc. etc. etc.- 48 replies

Industry News: Most Electric Cars Sold in the U.S. Are Leased
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Wrong, EV leasing offers all auto companies a way to off set profits which in the end means having to pay the tax man. Much value to the bottom line. In regards to Effortlessly be kept in service, stop dreaming silly, Petro auto's often cause hours of wrench time to repair and keep running.- 33 replies

But But The online pictures show Florida is covered in Ice!

After looking at the Autocar story, clearly hinges are still exposed, zooming into the pictures, you can see the external screws that are on the existing on sale version are gone. Internal is the biggest update as the external is just a refresh to me. Is it worth 6 figures? Yes to some, no to others. price wise it exceeds Escalade which does tell me Cadillac needs a V Sport and V edition of the Escalade. Off road capability, no, leave it to have an equal off road version in GMC as a Yukon Denali, Hummer like edition. Will have to see in person if this would be of internal space to me to be in any consideration. External, is does nothing for me, just an overpriced bread box still.

Surprised at the low sales numbers, just 352,790 sold for 2017. I actually thought their sales numbers were much higher. Surprised by the low CUV numbers.

December 2017: Subaru of America
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
For such a small portfolio, some damn solid numbers. One does have to wonder how long the BRZ will stick around with such low numbers. Probably as long as Toyota builds a version, then Subaru will badge engineer it.- 4 replies

December 2017: Mercedes-Benz USA
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
OMG They need to slash car models right now, so many double digit negatives, They could save a ton on R&D by cutting the low sale models. Kill off the following and that would give them mega bucks for their EV line. Smart G-Class AMG GT SL SLC S-Class B-Class That would allow them to increase funding for the EV-Class. After all business sense would say, if you cannot at least sell 25,000 of a model per year, why bother.- 6 replies

2018 is an exciting year as we see what EV concepts are shown as well as the move by all companies to embrace more CUV / trucks as they reduce the car thing, so much excitement, so little time to enjoy it all.
