Interesting revealing numbers. So where everyone else is selling more CUVs and SUVs, Nissan actually dropped big time in sales as well as a considerable across the board drop in sales of the Q product line for Infinity. At least there the luxury CUVs are selling.

May 2016: Mazda North American Operations
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2016 Sales Archive
WHOW, what is up with all the Smiley faces? Truck sales? So they count the CUVs as trucks. Interesting. Like all others, seems sales are cooling. Surprised Apple has not sued Mazda over using the i-Activ since they seem to tie everything else up as i-xxxxx for the apple coffin. -
Was not aware that the e-tron was being sold yet. Very interesting. Seems like everyone, auto sales have cooled off.

Clearly low gas prices is driving truck and suv sales. Be interesting to see how this is at this time next year once prices go back up. Sad that GM seems to have lost some mojo on car sales. Hopefully that will turn around in the near future.

WOW, that is an ugly report, no matter how you try to spin it!

May 2016: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in 2016 Sales Archive
So everything is down double digits except RAM being neutral and JEEP is keeping them afloat. This is Sergio's legacy. Crappy management of product lines. Just kill off Fiat and stop wasting money on Alfa.- 39 replies

Samsung's new 512GB SSD is incredibly small
G. David Felt replied to Suaviloquent's topic in Electronics and Technology
+1 ^ I agree with Drew that the M2 PCI Express SSD drives are awesome be it in a desktop or laptop, it really makes the machine fly. I have tested this on both windows and linux and have to say this is the only way to go moving forward for your computer. Price has come way down also and performance is freakin amazing. -
That would ROCK! So bigger question is could the SS also get a limited run of special Chevy SS Supercharged 600 ponies?

Volvo News: Volvo Isn't Planning to Go Smaller than 40 Series
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
Plus, I doubt Volvo sees much value in becoming another Chevy, Ford, Toyota. I think many are wondering if MB and BMW will survive losing their niche as a luxury builder and becoming known as a Generic auto for everyone builder. -
Dodge News: Rumorpile: It Will Be A Long Wait for the Next Charger
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Dodge
Sad, yes it is on a solid platform, but Sergio has been hell bent of Fing up FCA, Steeling the money that should be re-invested into Dodge, RAM, Jeep, Chrysler so he can try and bring back his failed piss poor Italian brands. REALITY, What Sergio has done is hurt the US side of FCA in a failed attempt to keep auto production of $h!ty Fiat, Alfa and other grossly over priced, poor quality italian labels going. -

+1 ^ So true what Balthazar and Drew states! -
Nice looking auto and the work you have done is great to keep it on the road and going. Much like how I keep my 94 GMC Suburban SLE looking as nice as possible and on the road.

Came across this write up about if and when the end of petro auto's will take place. SuperCharged EVs. Overall advanced in fuel cells and advanced battery technology is not enough to offset the growth in auto sales in emerging markets powered by Petro. Yet it does clearly state that one cannot ignore this market niche. The estimate is that 800 million auto's will be added to the world wide fleet over the next 20 years. The additional charts and info is very informative on how EVs, PHEVs, etc. can affect the overall marketplace. Interesting is the charts that also show US oil productions, rigs and exploration. Some very interesting info. While I agree that for some they will not see the change over to a pure EV, PHEV or Hybrid driven auto market, I think many of us will see it still over the next 50 years along with self driving auto's.

2016 (new) Mazda CX-9 Sport AWD 2.5 test (and impression)
G. David Felt replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
Got to get up and personal with a CX-9 over the weekend as my sister is considering trading in her Mazda 6 for a CX-9 or CX-5. They are nice, not at roomy as my full size SUV's, but nice. Mazda has stepped up their interior to compete on the Buick, Lincoln, Acura level of auto's. -
Buick News: Buick Makes it Official, Verano Disappears in 2017
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
First off, I disagree with your statement about Encore needing to grow. NO COMPANY needs to grow a label, that is why you have subcompact, compact, medium, large, etc. for sizing of auto's, you need an auto bigger than the Encore, you step up to the Envision or the Enclave. I do agree with you about Buick not needing a performance division or segment. I think since no one has had access yet to an Envision it is way to early to say that the Envision cannot compete with the Mazda CX-9. Plus the envision is smaller than the CX-9 that really is to compete with the Enclave is my understanding. It would be the CX-5 that competes with the Envision. I do think you hit some valid issues with the rest of your post.- 54 replies

2016 Cadillac ATS sedan 2.0t 8AT AWD Luxury
G. David Felt replied to regfootball's topic in Reader Reviews
Point well made, we might as well do what SMK is doing and hence just use GM versus MB in who has the most trucks, the most CUVs/SUVs, who has the most subcompact, compact, mid size, full size auto's, who has the most commercial, etc. Guess since MB is no longer the elite only Luxury auto company we need to truly compare apple to apple! GM Versus MB, Guess we know who truly wins! -

One day you will understand how ignorant your post truly was. BTW, this was bean counting, as well going after the bottom feeder market. mercedes-benz-cla-breakthroughs-large-10.jpg WOW If that does not show MB has joined the rank n file of the Ford, Dodge, Toyota and Chevy buyers, I have no Idea what does. Clearly MB is NOT the Luxury Auto Maker any longer but a mass market machine living off their legacy of past desire to be different than everyone else. Now they are just a Mass Produced Jelly Bean Company of Auto's. Yeah, since they don't make full size V12 luxury sedans, coupes, or luxury convertibles, such as these. WOW talk about a lack of style, originality or anything else that other than badge snobs would want gives any desire. Sorry SMK, I know you love your beloved MB, but these are the most generic blah auto's ever! Many other german brands have better style than this allotment. Nothing here that makes me want or desire to have one of them. If I was to choose an MB, then I would have to pass on all their butt ugly CUV/SUVs and look to the AMG line that makes me excited. Just 3 auto's that I could enjoy having: Black Brabus E63 station wagon AMG GT3 AMG Gran Turismo -
