Minimum wage is needed but not as a so called Living Wage. Nice that Roosevelt made those comments during the Great Depression. Yet all you have to do is look at countries that have tried to push a living wage such as Spain, Greece, and so many others and the very high unemployment rate among young people. Minimum wage was about giving young people and people with no skills a chance to prove themselves, gain some trade skills and move up. Most companies use minimum wage as a chance for others to prove themselves and when the Gov raises the minimum wage, you then end up with INFLATION! I see nothing wrong with a $7.50 per hr minimum wage to start and prove your self. After all kids need jobs too and most are not in need of supporting themselves as they live at home.

Ugh, I can only imagen how ugly those subcompact Predator mouth auto's would be. Yea all auto companies can say they have holes, but do they really need to spend the money to develop a couple auto's that would cover 70K a year in additional production capacity? Maybe, Maybe not.

Good Catch, was an Escort. Yes very true, I had a medical emergency in 1990 and had bleed terribly. After surviving, I was only 195 lbs, toothpick skinny when I went car shopping. Good thing I could not afford the Reatta as by 1992 I was bulking back up fast and my wife ended up driving the Escort as I bought a Jeep Wrangler Sahara edition which was traded in for my 1994 GMC Suberban SLE model.

I have two that I would put into this bucket. Buick Reatta, Loved the design, but was too pricy for me at the time and the interior just came off as cheap. 1991 Chevy Berretta GTZ with Quad 4 engine and 5 speed stick. This one I was very serious about and it lost out to my 1991 Ford Escort GT which was clearly a much better built auto. Chevy had the right idea here but totally screwed up the execution and quality.

Interesting, should be a nice sleeper since they have never built anything that can excite me let alone the bigger market. They are a company that is way to conservative to actually build an exciting EV. If they do, then they might have found someone that can lead the company and actually build excitement. Gonna be interesting to watch.

H'mmmm I wonder who will be the first to announce manufacturing in this country when the political peeps realize they need to have it there for the blue color work force. Gonna be interesting for sure.

What Drew says is so true, we had a bridge that was built back in 1938, collapsed when a semi went over it. They are now finally building a new one and the traffic is diverted through a small town 20 miles out of the way. The people hurt and damage could have been avoided if they had just replaced the infrastructure in a reasonable period of time rather than kick the can down the road. Sorry but free medical and school to illegals comes behind taking care of this country, future workers of America and the infrastructure to support our citizens. As I have stated, road tax per mile for everyone is the best fair way to go.

I agree, this is like what has come under fire in Washington state with new lotteries that are supposed to go to the schools and taxes on alternative energy for auto's and yet both go into a general fund and are wasted on other pet social services not all being good.

Excited for Nikola Semi's to hit the road and push Kenworth, Peterbuilt, Mac and others into a much cleaner phase of Trucking. Time to remove the smell and particle dirt from the roads and cities.

While I think it sucks that they are truly penalizing the EV over gas. I think the best thing is to go to a mileage tax to be fair to everyone. Even with this $150 a year charge, I still think EV owners will have much lower costs compared to gas. Washington state has the same yearly registration fee for all auto's. Base is $80 and goes up depending on weight of the auto. Example is an HD F650 pickup is $384 a year to register here. So Chevy Bolt is $80 yearly to register, then at $24 a month to charge, your looking at $288 a year for 14,400 miles driven. Year cost to drive the BOLT = $368 My Trailblazer is $165 a year to register, $400 a month average for gas. $80 twice a year for synthetic oil changes. Yearly cost $5,125 Love my TB and will keep it, but excited about owning a BOLT!

Cool, I can see this product line being Hybrid and EV only in the near future. Torque of the electric motor will greatly help to move that weight around.

Gotten very clean with Diesel treated generators producing the electricity for the electric motors that push all the freight around this country. The EPA one seems to point to Long Haul trucking / all Commercial Trucking and Shipping as the last big area to pull into cleaner emissions.

In Washington State $24 dollars buys you equal to 1200 miles in the Chevy Bolt.

This is why tax by mile is fair for everyone. The more you drive the more you pay. With the Semi's having GPS, they can have them pay their fair share too for long haul trucking.

We already know that CARB has discovered that Audi Gas auto's have cheat code. So this is going to be interesting to see what all comes out of this.

^ +1 Totally agree that FCA cheating will really hurt Diesel future here in America. I question if GM will bother to keep diesels in their lineup much past a few years out other than the full size trucks. I bet a Hybrid truck could give you the same performance as a diesel if done with that focus in mind.

Sergio is hoping trump will kill the EPA and he can get away unlike VW with Polluting and hurting humans as he steals the profits for his own pocket. FCA needs to be broken up and killed. Time for Fiat / Alfa to die for good. Course this would also cause pain for Ram, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler. Wonder how Frump would deal with it. Break it up and sell it off, consolidate and allow it to be taken as one piece? 2017, the year of business taking money and change at the expense of the consumer. H'mmmmmmmmmm

Yup, Auto check is carfax for free. They want to show they have integrity and sell the auto for quick turn over, this is a good thing for you and them. Most Dealers now offer the Carfax right on their own web site. Check and see if the auto you want is also covered with carfax on their web site.
