  1. How do I check? Are they at the links? I went out to the Chevrolet web site, put in my zip code and then went to the section that covers deals, leasing etc. and looked at available leases in Washington state. Nothing, Nodda, big goose egg.
  2. Great they took the Butt Ugly Maxima style and put it on the bland Altima and now both are just
  3. I do like tea, English style, or Chai. I have to stop caffeine around 3pm or I can't sleep, even w/ my 500mg of Trazodone...(though an anti-depressant, I was prescribed it for my insomnia). Over two decades on prescription sleeping pills... Bummer, I have Narcolepsy so for me, I could drink Triple Jolt Cola which is still sold in Japan and still fall asleep 30 min later.
  4. Could one get any more of a Bland Expressionless, Passionless auto?
  5. But FORD Teaches their sales people to be jerks, I am almost sure of it. Every time I step foot onto a ford lot, I get assaulted. They have no professional sales manners at all. Some GM and FCA are getting bad also. Why, Why, Why!
  6. Just Checked and none of the crazy Leases are available in Washington state. WTF!
  7. Kindered Spirit, Having been born and raised in Seattle, My sisters and parents drink Star Bucks like crazy, I never took to coffee at all. Stuff stinks. So for me in the morning, an Energy drink prefer xyience but my backup is sugar free red bull. Like you crank is an unlimited.
  8. Love my UFC endorsed Xyience Energy Drinks. http://www.xyience.com/ They are awesome with out all the crap you find in Monster. Personally I hate contract, like working for a company and have no problem working 50-55hrs a week.
  9. This is good that GM is cutting back. No need to dump in the rental market, build quality product people want and enjoy the profits.
  10. Agree, after screwing up Audi and Infiniti, Johan is the biggest political butt kissing moron to take over Cadillac. Next year when they start rolling out product in the fall that will have his signature on it in one way or another and 2017 new models will show if he is a true dud or not. Right now his history is he is an idiot dud.
  11. That is just crazy. WOW
  12. Guess Steel does not like BMW either. Yesterday an unsecured beam on a delivery truck bounced off and slammed through this BMW CUV scrapping the 60 year old mans arm. Amazing.
  13. Anyone need more of the "Here comes the Express!"
  14. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com El(ectric) Camino EV Conversion Howdy all, so I have been hanging out looking into what the EV conversion crowd has been doing out at diyelectric car forums. http://www.diyelectriccar.com/ This site has a great assortment all focused on taking any type of auto or kit car and building it as an electric auto. You will find DIY Kits, DIY Plans, DIY Projects, you name it, they pretty much cover it. A very die hard group of people about having the world run on electric motors. For Camino, I thought he would love this project. A guy bought an old ElCamino and is converting it to electricity. Using a pair of Warp 11 motors, he is over 600HP and 1000 lbs of torque. The forum section on all conversions is found here: http://www.diyelectriccar.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/all-ev-conversions-and-builds-2.html The guy does post about his ElCamino EV conversion or as he is calling it the El(ectric) Camino. Better yet for best photos and up to date info he has his own blog on the whole conversion and his son is helping him from welding to new diffs, etc. http://electriccamino.blogspot.com/ Check it out, some pretty cool stuff going on here.
  15. Yeah...I think that is more logical than want I said earlier. And you are definitely right about an Omega 'Slade in 2021/2022...CAFE. Although I dont agree with you with Lincoln. I believe the 'Gator still has mojo left in her, its up to FoMoCo and Lincoln to use their marketing genius to allow that mojo to come out when an all new 'Gator finally arrives. @ Drew Thanx for that insight as I too, forget that GM actually refreshes their vehicles often enough... Just imagen a Hybrid Escalade or pure electric. by the early 2020's we should have considerable battery packs that could pretty much eliminate petrol engines. Not totally out of reach. Just review the alternative forum on the various high powered electric motors you can get to put into your auto.
  16. So what if they squawk, Chevy can make their own SS series and GMC already has their Denali, if they want performance then bring back in the Syclone and Typhoon and make from compact to full size limited performance versions. Escalade should have a V-Sport and V edition I think. Imagen a Supercharged Escalade ESV Platinum V edition.
  17. Both the power electronics and the motor require cooling, which is usually in the form of a circulated liquid. One weakness of the Tesla drive unit is that the same coolant is used for both the motor and the electronics, which means that if the motor is operated under a high duty cycle, the electronics may be damaged if the output is not reduced. The Volt uses separate cooling loops since each system has a difference thermal tolerance and inertia. Warp Motors have been air cooled for a long time and are beefy to handle the power and still stay working. http://www.go-ev.com/
  18. Escalade with a beefed up VOLT power train would sell very well. Use the BOLT 200 mile battery pack plus the generator to get another 200-400 miles and you have an awesome luxury SUV.
  19. V sport and V edition of an Escalade would be awesome. All I can say is that Johan better keep his paws off the Escalade. You DO NOT need to have everything fit neat and tidy into the caddy family. Look at how MB has kept the G SUV alive for so long. Caddy needs to keep this going.
  20. So in other words your advice to FCA would be to build an Encore competitor as the Chrysler 100?
  21. So how do you explain that in 2014, US sales of Hybrids were a combined total of 507,272 sold. Here is the official GOV link showing Hybrid sales all the way back to 1999 when only 17 were sold. 2000 9,350 were sold, 20,282 in 2001 were sold. I am sure an auto maker would love to have that large sales increase for a model. Now over half a million units sold in 2014. http://www.rita.dot.gov/bts/sites/rita.dot.gov.bts/files/publications/national_transportation_statistics/html/table_01_19.html Notice that from 1999 to 2003 this was I believe all Toyota, no one else. Then in 2004 you have domestic and imports listed. Honda would have to be in that 1999 - 2003 total as well.... they actually beat Toyota to market with a Hybrid very slightly. Very cool and thanks Drew for pointing that out. I always forget about that weird little 2 person Honda Insight hybrid they build.
  22. Greencar is reporting that VW submitted to EPA and CARB their repair for the 2.0 TDi engines which is pretty much expected to be a software flash. Their story also implies that it is easier in Europe to fix all diesels than here in the US. US Politicians here are stating that due to the need for what is expected to have to be a Urea fix, changes to grill and other hardware components, that VW should be forced to buy back the half a million TDi auto's at fair market price before the news came out and crush them. http://www.greencarreports.com/news/1100974_volkswagen-proposes-2-0-liter-diesel-fixes-as-crisis-continues The story is a 3 page story with details about the Urea system that would be needed as well as an interesting section on what they consider to be a growing bafflement on who VW is responding to this.
  23. G. David Felt Staff Writer Alternative Energy - www.CheersandGears.com Toyota converting auto transportation fleet to CNG. Nov 23rd 2015 Toyota Corporation released a media announcement that they would start with their first CNG auto hauler as they moved to be greener in transporting their green fleet of auto's to the dealers. CNG Auto Hauler Toyota worked with Peterbilt and Cottrell to build the first of many to come. This is a Peterbilt 365 day cab tractor with an 11.9L ISX 12 G Engine by Cummins modified for CNG operation. This is a 9 car hauler with 90 gallon capacity of CNG, two type IV carbon fiber 45 gallon tanks, one on each side of the truck. Toyota states that this hauler does what every other hauler out there does but with 85% less particulate matter and 10% less carbon dioxide. Toyota is deploying this hauler out of Long Beach California where it will deliver auto's while racking up between 7000-8000 miles per month.
  24. Call me crazy but I'm pretty sure VW is done with diesels for a while. Is this what you call having KaBonged him?
  25. I dunno man... that sounds like total car failure to me.... better call Consumer Reports. I'm just saying. There's a fine distinction between hand-crafted and homemade. and I'm just saying that a single component failure is not a whole system failure..... even if the manufacturer decides to replace the whole system to get you back on the road faster Interesting conversation with a engineer friend who converted his old VW Rabbit to EV from diesel. His warp 9 motor he had bought last year was built with some less than up to par parts, the Florida company who builds and sells the warp motors contacted him and offered to have a local mechanic swap out the motor. He turned them down and said ship it to me, I will do it myself. After getting the replacement motor, it took him all of about 30 min to disconnect the cables, bolts and swap out. I can see EV auto's being a bit easier to work on than traditional motors. Should be interesting to see how mechanics deal with these moving forward. I will say that the OEMs seem to complicate the install much more than conversions. Hopefully the Bolt will be clean and simple in it's setup.
