On the Audi A3/S3/RS3 Id rather the VW versions all the way through. Especially in the aesthetic department. The A3/S3/RS3 sedan looks frumpy but the Golf has all the right cues and proportions to make it a sexy hatch. Frumpy, odd proportions and the Audi badge costing extra dollars over the Veedub badge really aint worth it. Frumpy...the rear ends too soon...as if Audi is afraid to elongate it as to not reach A4 length... And because of it...this angle has odd proportions This angle looks fine...because the rear end is hidden for our immediate observational focal points... The hatch version is hot though. More mature than the Veedub. But yeah! These are MONSTERS in the performance world. I have deep respect for them!!!

Volvo News: Polestar 1 is A 600 Horsepower Hybrid Coupe from Sweden
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
I was just about to comment how pretty it is also...but then I got to the side profile pic...and then I was like... Yeah...no thanks! The Camaro for reference does not help its cause either. (for me) -
I dont remember remembering this information. Although after reading all of your posts. Now, all of a sudden, I remember!!! So I had a little brain fart...IT HAPPENS! OK?! Thank-you all for answering me.

I liked how you stayed calm and stayed away from him. You did not give in to road rage. And yes...that sorta thing happens all the time for me. Ive learned to deal with it. Like how you said later in your posts... I dont go right away when the light turns green (green light for me)and I Iook both ways before I advance making sure there is nobody running the red light (red light for them). I said that I was gonna get a dash cam when your accident happened. I havent yet. But I will. By XMAS I should have one for myself and my wife. A XMAS gift for myself. (I dont really buy anything extravagant for myself during the course of a year...I do that for XMAS and a Dash Cam for 2 cars will be that gift I give myself this year)

I dont think its as much as having a soul as it is about having an obligation. To the Canadian Government in helping them with the bailout. And to the Canadian peeps as it was their money that they got during the bailout...remember...Canadian dollars were also given to them and maybe GM feared a backlash of the Canadian peeps if they had shuttered this plant down this way... Canadians do buy a lot of 'Noxes...and Cruises...and Volts...and Camaros... Remember...'buy American' or 'Make America Great Again' does not have the same punch here...ESPECIALLY concerning the auto industry...ESPECIALLY when America's recent trade policies regarding soft lumber and Boeing's recent tactics concerning Canadair's C Series and with Trump's confusing NAFTA speeches... I think GM bit the bullet for another 4 years....prolonging the agony...as it might sting them less in 4 years to close the plant then had they decided to close the plant now...it would hurt our feelings more now then it will 4 years from now.

Buy an EV...dont want an EV? Nobody is forcing you to do anything... Its a free country and you can buy anything you want... You are also free to whine and complain...that works too..I guess...
-
That left lane...yeah...the reserved Bus and Taxi lane... Well...its also a reserved 3 or more peeps and EV lane... My tax dollars go to EV people and they have their own lane! I feel discriminated against!!! Im suing the guvment! Is Cochran still alive? No! OK...Il get this guy...on discount as I wouldnt be able to afford Cohran anyway as all my money goes to those stupid guvment taxes for stupid EV lanes...I want my own private lanes for 2012 Acura TL SH-All Wheel Drives!!!
-
Look again... I had time to edit... Unionized? HA! Like I said...my neighbor is an air traffic control dude...yup...they are unionized... You feel like you are discriminated against because EV people get preferential treatment at a unionized place? Solution: play the EV card... Litigation is the answer to all of our problems... GTFO with that shyte, bro!

And that goes to show you how whiny and childish and petty we all have become... Hey Mr Bossman...you pay for Frankie's electricity... I want you to pay for my gas!!! Wah wah wah...its only fair! Wah! NO! You GOT to pay for me too! WAH WAH WAH!!! After all...after you own admission...its ONLY ONE LEAF driver for Chrissakes!!! My neighbor's boss...the one that drives the 1st gen Volt...well...he also has installed chargers and the employees that own EVs get to charge their cars for free...the gasoline dudes dont say a word... Why? Well...they could buy an EV and get free electricity....nobody is stopping them... The problem with today's society is that we look at what our neighbor is doing and if he has an advantage...we would rather destroy his benefits rather than run our own race and maybe even try to take advantage of the SAME BENEFITS!!! THAT is how I see things! It looks like your brother's co-workers are nothing but busy body, gossipy, jealous, old maids!

And baseball.. I want my Expos back. Especially when the Nationals choked again.
-
I say...we force them Americans to give back the Colorado Avalanche and the Washington Nationals to return them to their rightful cities where they truly belong...Quebec City and Montreal respectively! As the rest of NAFTA...well...Boeing could kiss my ass...the rest of our trading together...I hopes to hell we figure it out as Canada-USA-Mexico as partners could really dominate we if get our shyte together!

Ha! I found your post hilarious! It is truly a great song! I do love the CLS though! Prolly the only Benz I like in 2017. The S Class sedan is awesome...but Im always waiting for something better to come along. But then again...there isnt any uber luxury sedan out there by anybody that I like...the S Class beats them all...but if I had the money to buy or lease one...I wouldnt...Id get the CLS instead. And restomod a 1950s or 1960s or even an early 1970s Caddy! I see what you did there! I LIKE!!!

Yeah...and I was also going with the fact that cost to build cars in Ontario also rose. The electricity costs rose...the taxes that GM had to pay in Ontario also rose in the last few years.
-
I got your back...I like posting pics.

In other words... damned if you do....damned if you dont. using another cliche, lose-lose situation. Leave things alone and dont say a word...GM closes you down and you go quietly in the night. Manifest and strike...GM gets mad...and closes you down. Hey...GM has got to do what they got to do to ensure the health of the company...I aint disputing that. What I am saying is that...due to circumstances...the fate of that plant was sealed a while ago...

This one? (I had to google it) (I had no idea Chevy went retro on it) I like that too!

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'

I do roads trips too. The kind that you actually see things... Boring interstates and highways I wont do either. I do airplane travel also and commit more time to the place of destination itself. Its the smart thing to do.- 176 replies

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
That is still 144 miles... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Island_of_Montreal Location Saint Lawrence River Coordinates 45°30′01″N 73°38′47″WCoordinates: 45°30′01″N 73°38′47″W Archipelago Hochelaga Archipelago Area 499.19 km2 (192.74 sq mi) Length 50 km (31 mi) Width 16 km (9.9 mi) Highest elevation 233 m (764 ft) Highest point Mount Royal Montreal has a length of 31 miles... From one tip to the other tip...31 miles...62 miles to do one end then return back home... that is a huge ass island... I live off island on the west while my mom lived near the end of the east tip...it was a 40 KM (25 miles)route for me to see her...1 hour drive on average. 80 KM (50 miles)back and forth.. 40 minutes no traffic the fastest I traveled to see her and 1.5 hours with traffic being the slowest... You make up your own minds about 144 miles on a charge being too close for comfort in an emergency, but think about what obstacles lay ahead of you when talking about city travel other than range anxiety mostly for speed and traffic...because...well...you know...emergency...- 176 replies

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
*SIGH* The "if" argument... Last week on my day off....not today...my car was running on fumes sitting in my drive-way... If its an emergency that urgent...and the gas tank is running on fumes...then it will take about 8-10 minutes to fully gas up and pay...possibly 15 minutes...and in an emergency...8-10-15 minutes is still too long... I hate "if" arguments as much as I hate semantic driven counter points... I did mention that...didnt I? You CONTINUE to stress that part, dont you? Its FRUSTRATING that people STILL dont get that!!!- 176 replies

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Hold on now... We are getting away from reality. The Bolt...or Model 3... has a range of at least 200 miles the first thing we do when we get into the car when we first drive it assuming we plugged it in the night before so we have a 100% charge from the get-go... To use all that range...it will take...simple grade school math...3 hours of driving 65 mph to exhaust the range and we will have traveled...about 200 miles... Why the phoque are we traveling in a hurry when our known destination is more than 3 hours away and more than 200 miles? An airplane might be more of an appropriate method of travel, non? (The argument is about us being in a hurry) (EV infrastructure being on the thin side as of now...its more about personal choices and EVs as of now)- 176 replies

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
Yes...and I dont get the part where Tesla is jumping the gun on 18 wheelers and yet another CUV, but doesnt know what platform to build it on...another bespoke platform or use the Model 3...but the Model 3 is not off the ground yet...production hell as its called... Shouldnt all Tesla's resources...all resources...man power, money, brains, thoughts, prayers...be focused on getting the Model 3 to consumer's hands instead of milking the Tesla buzz into products that wont be produced for another decade or two the way Tesla runs things now???!!!- 176 replies

Tesla Model 3 Production Has Some 'Bottlenecks'
oldshurst442 replied to William Maley's topic in Tesla
I wonder if this recent hiccup will put a dent in their perception. And if it doesnt...I wonder how many more hiccups and/or missteps it will take for people to take them off that pedestal. I must apologize to you as you called it...you questioned their ability to get the Model 3 production on time and I contradicted you. You were right, I was wrong. With that being said, this is an error that Tesla will surely learn from, like with the Model X's unnecessary complicated rear doors that Musk admitted was a wrong decision. The Model 3 is a fantastic EV that hits many sweet spots regarding where the Model 3 fits in in its market with its targeted consumer. Size, range, price.... It also falls short in some areas but no car is perfect. (If) and when Tesla gets production going on it and the people that actually reserved for it get to own the bloody thing, it will only make Tesla that much more desirable. GM does have 20 EVs heading our way from now until 2021 or 2022 or whenever they said, which will most definitely give Tesla a run for its money...its just that Tesla is the one that is the more desirable product. For now. Question remains. How many more hiccups and missteps can Tesla afford to make until people give up on them. It took GM (and the other 2 members of the Detroit gang) a lot before they lost America's confidence. 2 decades worth of not so-good cars such as the Pinto and Vega and Citation, etc. LETS US NOT FORGET THOUGH...TESLA IS A GLOBAL COMPANY. TESLA SELLS ALL OVER THE WORLD AND TESLA IS DESIRABLE GLOBALLY...- 176 replies
