  1. Ford, GM, Toyota.... Honda too.... VW? Sure....they also got their fair share of recalls... Subaru about 15-20 years ago got caught fixing defects without the owners knowing that there were defects! Moot point... Although I hate Toyota BECAUSE of the myth of "Toyota flawless reliability". However, certain Toyota motors are indestructible. But certain others, not so much. This whole thing sounds like COMPLETE BULLSHYTE!!! And Chrysler not doing anything about it??? In THIS day and age when Toyota paid a hefty price for unintended acceleration, GM a hefty price for the ignition switch fiasco and VW for polluting from their diesels...WITH AN UPSIDE!!!! NO SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF SALES DUE TO CONSUMERS DISTRUST IN THOSE BRANDS!!! So Chrysler will try to hide this???!!! BULLSHYTE!!! Same derivative answer that I personallynget from a technician that does not know what the problem is... "If it happens again, bring it in right away so we see the codes!!!" Laprincess sounds like an agenda driven poster....kinda like our banned friend Wings...
  2. My sincere reply to this is as follows. Using the paragraph above the pics of the different brand specific motors that GM brands engineered for themselves plus those pics along with the LT4 pics... GM learned a long time ago that nixing the different brands engineering regarding motors saved a lot of money. Sure it alienated many folk that wanted an Olds motor rather than a Chevy one within GM's brand loyalty fanbase...in hindsight all these decades later, I deem it to be a success. I sincerely do think why it took VAG all this time to finally go full throttle with this. Especially when VAG knows better than GM how to manage multiple brands and keep their identity intact! Maybe that is the secret? Keep brand bespoke engines to that brand only???!!! Maybe this was the misstep that GM took that started the tumble? Now it seems Im overthinking things...LOL The last paragraph where I bitchin' about Eurosnobs is where I tread the trolling path...all in the name of fun!
  3. Im just bitchin just for bitchin's sake! A little light trolling if you will! I agree 100% with what you quoted me on!
  4. Hudson Hornet Chopped '49 Mercury In all honesty, much ado about nothing about the bitchin' of 4 door coupes!!! Plus Ill add this one!!! The rake of the back windshield is just as extreme...only difference is that the W-Body is a long car and the designers had a trunk to work with but...cut short the trunk by about 5 inches and you gets the same effect like the Accord looks like...and by cutting the trunk by 5 inches, the GP also gets to be about the same length as that Accord....in other words, extend the back end of the new Accord by about 5 inches and it becomes almost as long as a 1990s W-Body...the Buick Century in 1997 Im willing to bet would be the EXΑCT size with the current Accord length wise.... Its just fast back styling!!! It gives a young vibe to an otherwise old fogey 4 door family car sedan! This is what you folk wanna go back to? Kinda bland and square, doncha think?
  5. Yeah....that is where it starts, dont it? What Im saying is that Ive seen this happen before! Im surprised it took this long actually! From this: We went to this: I wonder if any Euro snobs will have anything bad to say about this blatant badge engineering concept where Audi's engines are not bespoke to Audi... Because Ive witnessed the Chevy engine in a Cadillac negativity shyte many times over. Sure....these people will try to say its a Porsche V8...but these people also tend to ignore the fact that the Chevy engine is in reality a Corvette engine and these people also ignore the fact that the SBC is in fact the best thing since sliced bread. Mopar and FoMoCo fans are really the ONLY people that I will accept them dissing the SBC as FoMoCo has the flathead V8 as a starting point to squash Chevrolet dreams and Mopar has the 440 6 pack and HEMI to SMASH and OBLITERATE any ideas Chevy has for dominance...except that the latest SBC is the GOAT!!!
  6. All cars of EVERY make have teething problems... What you read about in all internet forums are all the whining bullshyte that people bitch about and the internet gives them a voice to be heard. Some of that whining is real, some of it fake and some of it imagined just to stir an emotion or a hidden agenda. My wife's 2013 1.6liter ecoboost Ford Fusion has had 5 or 6 recalls on it to date. Her car was built in June of 2013 and we took deliver of it that December and supposedly the engine fire problems for the 1.6 liter ecoboost were solved by April 2013....but you guessed it...2 months ago I got a letter from Ford telling me that there are still fire hazards with it....something about the coolant may get too low or the pressure circulating the coolant not being sufficient to properly flow not cooling the engine fast enough or something like that and that well last month, I took it in for the recall... OK...like I said...there is like 5-6 or even 7 recalls on her car....all fixed.... If I was a whiny little shyte, like most people in today's society...guess what???!!! Id be bitchin' on a Ford Fusion forum that Fords suck and the Fusion sucks and ALL THAT!!! Reality is that my wife and I are really really satisfied with the Fusion...albeit annoyed with all the phoquing recalls. But the car does perform flawlessly though! And yes, Id buy another Found On Road Dead or Fix Or Repair Daily Ford product again. Take all the internet bitchin' with a grain of salt is what Im sayin!!!! Another anecdote.... Ive read some Google reviews about my very own restaurant... I do have like a 4 or 4.5 star rating with as many as 150 responses and Id say 90% of the responses are of the hell yeah positive side of things.... The little complaints that I do get...well....some people's perceptions are phoqued and we are such a coddled and whiny phoquing society...we can be very whiny bitches!!!! I remember some of those complaints...and um...I aint about to give you a free phoquing meal for life just because we forgot to add ketchup in your burger or we forgot to omit the pickles in it... Its good enough I gave you another burger and let you keep the old one and no I aint gonna apologize and kiss your ass for an honest HUMAN mistake! You could add phoquing ketchup yourself and take the phoquing pickles out with your own phoquing food!!!! Honestly. folk! Stop being so phoquing prissy with your food! Its food! EAT IT!
  7. People forget that the Prowler and the Viper were HAND BUILT!!!! THIS is what they SHOULD be saying instead of seeing it as a negative!!!
  8. I dont know for anybody else, but when a GNΧ or a 1989 Turbo TA qualifies for a thread like this, I will ALWAYS choose them. I used to love a '55 300SL, but in the last 2-3 years, my love has disappeared for it. I appreciate very much where it stands in the history of the automobile and its contributions in the technology department but I just dont lust over it anymore. The Porsche 911 has taken its place for me. Same thing for a MkIV Toyota Supra. I absolutely love this car, but its come to the point where Id rather a 300ZX ΤΤ and a Dodge Stealth/Mitsu 3000 VR4. I guess with the Supra its because too many poseurs of the Fast and Furious crowd line up for it and the shytty 3rd generation Eclipse just because it was in the movie and not enough love is given to the Mitsubishi 3000. In fact the Mitsu 3000 is almost forgotten. Then there is the Playstation crowd that gives a tad too much love to the Lancer in that these people think the first performance Mitsu car is the Lanccer. They dont even know about the 3000...
  9. That is sooooo cool!
  10. If I was gonna be trading in my 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD today, this is what Id be buying in these categories 1. compact car (sedan/hatch/wagon) 2017 Cadillac ATS with either the 2.0T or the 3.6 V6. But realistically, I would NEVER consider this segment nor this car. Segment is too small for my tastes and the ATS is RWD and I wont be doing RWD in Quebec. Sure there is AWD but AWD defeats the purpose of buying a RWD biased car....I might as well just buy a FWD car....yes I own a AWD car....but I bought the Acura TL SH-AWD for the naturally aspirated 300 plus horse V6, not for the AWD. That 300 plus horse 3.7 liter V6 only came with the top dog SH-AWD trim level...plus the car is FWD anyway, I dont lose any sleep over having a heavy AWD system wreck that sweet RWD driving dynamics... 3. mid-size car Ford Fusion Sport Or Buick Regal (especially if a GS is available) 2018 Audi A6 that is not out yet and only if I could get one for $50 000-52 000 CDN and not a dime more 5. large car Buick Lacrosse No CUVs or SUVs for me as I would never ever own one....
  11. Id say @Cubical-aka-Moltar is right on the money!!!
  12. That seems to be voluminous indeed. I like the Cruze hatch. Right size for me? What is that definition? Its basically a car that fits my wife and 2 kids and myself comfortably with room to spare as I WANT to drive big cars. Medium sized muscle cars for my speed demon ways. Circa 1960s and 1970s perfect size for a family car and for my speed demon needs And if I needed to combine the two because of the need for one car either this or this or this Circa 2000s Perfect size for a family car for me with different levels of speed demon shenanigans and family car intentions that only require for me to buy only 1 car. The 2 door would require me to buy another car as it would be a tad difficult to haul stuff in and out of the back seat...in the 1970s, those trunks were huge therefore using the back seat in a 2 door was not really necessary.
  13. @dfelt I appreciate how you have passion for GMC and found 10 cars to fit in your garage!!! @ EVERYBODY I LOVE the ALL the choices you folk have made! This one was not easy! @A Horse With No Name Im still waiting for you buddy!
  14. I feels your pain, but it becomes too easy to do corporate siblings. This way, ya'll thought about what it is that you actually like and need. Including myself. In fact, Im still switching from Pontiac to Chevy to Ford, back to Pontiac then Chevy then Ford. Id wanna do Dodge or Chrysler, but there is a problem that I run into with those two....from about the late 1970s to mid 1990s, MOPAR aint exactly high on my list....plus even today...other than a Hellcat and a 300C, not much enthusiasm. So I thinks Ill be doing Chevy since Pontiac is no longer with us. 1) 1957 Chevrolet 2 door or convertible, stock numbers matching Fuelie or restomodded pro-toured Hot Rod. 2) Ultra rare 1970 Camaro 396 SS or restomodded protoured 3) 1961 Impala SS 409 4) 1969 Yenko Chevelle 5) 1967 427 Impala SS 6) 1969 427 Vette or restomod 7) 2017 SS 8 ) 1959 Vette 9) 2017 Impala 10) 1970 Monte Carlo 454SS
  15. EDIT on my post. I switched up the Supra for a Stealth.
  16. 1st 5 1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am Singer 911 made to look like a 930 Turbo...if it qualifies... If not....then the actual 1986 Porsche 930 Turbo will do. R33 Nissan Skyline GTR Cadillac CT6 3.0TT Cadillac CTS V-Sport 2nd 5 1987 Buick GNX unmolested Toyota Supra TT unmolested 1993 Nissan 300ZX ΤΤ 2018 Audi A6-not out yet
  17. @A Horse With No Name gave me a challenge. Here it is! For July 4 Celebrations!!! Rules: 1. Pick a brand. Just 1 brand. A pure red blooded AMERICAN brand. Be it Ford or Chevrolet. Or Dodge. 10 cars any era, any concepts, anything from that brand. 2. No corporate sister brands are allowed. 3. These are your garage queen, museum grade show cars and/or Sunday drivers and/or daily drivers. 4. Have fun!
  18. Okay.... I retreat. Monday I replace all Ford entries.
  19. 1. Titan T-51D with an LS3 V8 (I wanted a FW190 replica kit, but I could not find anybody that builds and sells to clients, only restoration companies restoring war survivor planes) This is surprisingly "affordable" at under $100 000 if optioned with a Honda Odyssey 3.5 liter V6 engine... 2. McDonnel Douglas 500E 3. Zamboni with a personal colour scheme and theme for my own personal indoor ice rink 4. Christy Hovercraft 5. Modern Monster Truck with 1500HP V8 engine Custom made to my tastes and my personal themes
  20. Ive been searching and googling and all sorts of investigations for this one...for the last 24 hours or so!!! This one is tough! I wanted to do a fairly realistic list so that is why is taking a long time.... Example...I want an F-16 Falcon, but in a realistic way, I dont think the US government will ever sell me a F-16 no matter how many billions I tell them I will buy it...so in a fantasy world thread, I want to keep it realisti.. But I will come up with something. Maybe tonight... But not tomorrow nor Sunday as softball tournaments galore this week-end. Wish us luck!!!
  21. So....where do those 3 1960s entries I made stand? Ill be honest, I had a hard time convincing myself to include Ford cars because I too view independents like you do...when it comes to these threads, I always find a loop hole to circumvent the rules...this Ford thing aint no different. Tough one.... Like I said...I will agree to any points of view regarding independents and I will erase the 64 Galaxie, 67 Fairlane and 65 Mustang. The 33 Ford stays as its as independent as it gets....after Lincoln but before Mercury...and FoMoCo was not as big as it is today and many other manufacturers from all over the USA were still producing cars from Wisconsin to Indiana...not only in the Michigan area.
  22. EDIT.... Lincoln was started by Leland...sold to Ford... Leland started Cadillac from defunct Ford cars before FoMoCo then sold it to GM... phoquing confusing if you ask me! Maybe that is why I forget sometimes the little details... But as I see things, Ford cars are independent, unless Frisky sees otherwise...and if he does, Ill redo my list and erase those Ford cars... Well, the 2 1960s entries. The 1933 Ford Hot Rod stays!!!
