Watch the Ford Mustang Mach-E Unveiling Live, 9 PM Eastern: Comments
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
Well, you're up in arms and you're not a Mustang customer... so... Just like we've all discussed GM should do with the Corvette and I still think they could/should. It's a little ugly but 500hp+ would fix that!- 179 replies

Watch the Ford Mustang Mach-E Unveiling Live, 9 PM Eastern: Comments

If people can swallow the price, there's no glaring downside to it. Heck, even in the Edge-sized price range this isn't really "out there" in pricing. They mortgaged the pony during hard times. All things are on the table for a business. Remember when everybody was like, "Corvette should split off and create its own brand and have a Corvette SUV"? Because I do.- 179 replies

Watch the Ford Mustang Mach-E Unveiling Live, 9 PM Eastern: Comments

I think it is an all around interesting move that their first real EV(excluding the joke of a Focus Electric) is near coupe-like and performance oriented as opposed to something basic as sht like an electric Escape or Fusion sized/shaped vehicles. I have a feeling the massive tablet is going to become more and more common as it reduces costs and people like big screens, in general. Enthusiasts notice it doesn't flow well but AverageAshley just sees something that looks highly technologically advanced because big screen and sees fancy.- 179 replies

While I'm not a huge fan of throwing Mustang on the actual vehicle name I think people are missing the point in why they're doing it. Balthy can probably understand as EV sales really aren't much of anything. They're using the name to grab attention and attention they got. Chevy came out with the Bolt and hardly made a splash and it's a very adequate EV with no real downsides outside of price.. and 'looks' but those are subjective.- 179 replies

Personally, I would not say that trails out of the headlight cluster until the 2013/2014s.

They started that in 2013 in the ATS and 2014 in the CTS.

Toyota News: Toyota Introduces Camry and Avalon with All-Wheel Drive

And the two "big hitters" are: Corolla: down 0.3% Civic: up 0.6% They really aren't missing out on anything, yet, at least. Equinox: up 2.29% Trax: up 82.04% Ecosport: up 10.7% Escape: down 7.2% -
Those don't even sell at reputable brands.

I couldn't agree more. It isn't like it's a small blip on the radar at this point. The SUV/CUV/truck market has been growing and growing for decades. Once SUVs/CUVs bridged most of the fuel economy gap, it created the huge swing that we're in right now. People can easily pull 30mpg in their compact CUVs. -

I just found out that it's had AWD basically the whole time. -
I really don't. And absolutely, the CT cars definitely look better, I just don't see a resemblance. Also, the LED curling up the fender was already designed by Kia before the CT5 was released.. It wasn't something they threw together in the last 2-3 months.
-
The CT5's trunk is anything but huge, it's 11.9 cubic feet. For reference, a Corolla's trunk is 13.0 cubic feet. More appropriately; C Class trunk volume: 12.6 cubic feet E Class trunk volume: 13.1 cubic feet 3 Series trunk volume: 17.0 cubic feet 5 Series trunk volume: 14.5-18.7 cubic feet Audi A4 trunk volume: 13.0 cubic feet Audi A6 trunk volume: 13.7 cubic feet

I genuinely do not see any of what you're seeing. All of those things you pointed out see like such a stretch to say they took those design cues.
-
I really don't think this is much smaller than any compact CUV. I'm surprised how large they are when I see them in the wild, not that they're actually "large" but that they aren't near as small as I think of anything with the Fiat 500 name.

GM News: Lordstown Sold to Lordstown Motors Corp
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in General Motors
39 years is the amount of time a business can amortize/depreciate the expense. That's both property and building(done individually, obviously). Depending on the equipment itself, they're depreciated over 5-7 years.- 21 replies

Oh no sh!t?? I genuinely thought it was only in the Sport. Good to know. Okay, also good to know. I didn't really think they were done as the sales numbers still seemed fairly strong and those would diminish more if the supply was limited. -

Ford's was only in the Fusion Sport... I think that started at like 34k, when it was still around. Actually, I don't know if they're still making them or if they're done yet. @Drew Dowdell, are they done making the Fusion? The one downside i see to this, from Toyota's point of view, is this will be stealing some sales from the RAV4 or Highlander now. This is probably why companies have held off for so long in offering AWD in their sedans, they sell AWD CUVs with better margins. -
I've debated doing this myself. Is there a charge to post it?

Oh yeah, I didn't think about that. If it was pulled from the RAV4, it probably isn't rated for the output of the V6. -
I don't like that black piece you guys have pointed out...

For the respective class though, all it's really for is not getting stuck in snow and a little more traction in the rain. You barley need anything to the rear to just not get stuck. -

it makes sense as most are probably comparing to the 4-cylinder CUVs anyway. There also may not be enough room for the AWD system with the V6..?
