  1. That's much improved from the original 70-90 miles or range quoted by VW. It would take ten or more years to pay itself off, even getting the full $7500 tax credit. God forbid you don't. " "The EPA reckons the cost of electricity at 13 cents per kWh. So a full charge on the 24.2-kWh battery is $3.15 and gets you 83 [miles of driving range]. The cost per mile is thus 3.8 cents. If you take a Jetta that gets 33 mpg combined and the EPA's cost of $2.01 for regular gasoline, then that comes to 6.1 cents per mile." Gas prices these days are higher in many places, which would increase savings, but for me VW's formula worked out to $569.94 in electricity for my year in an e-Golf versus the $913.30 I would have paid for gas in a comparable car." *That was at 14,972 miles in one year.*
  2. The e-Golf is a joke.. it's a compliance car like the Focus Electric was.. This makes be really wonder what Ford's new Mach-E will be priced at. I think I'd heard like 340 miles of range..? Rumor is 40k... but that seems optimistic or a very basic trim with a smaller battery.
  3. Example?
  4. What is one that is pretty clear, to you? I definitely do not see it in you guys, but I'm not the one questioning writers.
  5. You're one of the writers/editors as well. Should we question you based on how they treat you and what they make available to you? Nah, I have faith you write honestly.
  6. Small little Ferrari... finding budget room for $570,000,000. https://www.forbes.com/sites/csylt/2018/04/15/ferrari-570-million-f1-budget-revealed/#46c043b27fa5
  7. I call bullsh!t on anybody saying magazines are biased toward sponsorship. Maybe I'm ignorant but I believe there are too many writers/editors who have enough pride and respect in their work to just write something they don't believe in.
  8. ...Mercedes also had a 6.2 and it was as glorious as they come.
  9. GT-R and 370Z are fine but I'd never spend the money on them when there are other options that are way better all around for the same or very similar dollars. Also, I'm not a V6 fan so neither really sound like I want a toy to sound.
  10. +1 +1 +1 Yup. You'll get thrown into anything when you have an open opinion. There are only a few brands that I don't have an open opinion on and the biggest is Nissan. They're all garbage and it'll be difficult to change my mind about them.
  11. I cannot dispute that point of view. However, it doesn't seem like an unjust law, to me.
  12. It's easy to do when you don't follow laws.

  14. That is a lot of negatives going on.
  15. Agreed. I think manufacturers need to work on heavier refreshes to make platforms last longer, their investments. I can't imagine how much money could be saved/profited if they extended a platform for even one additional year after all fixed costs associated to R&D have been amortized.
  16. Hey, at least they weren't paying labor costs that whole time! My assumption is that it is as exaggerated as much as possible. It is probably the number of sales at transaction prices(meaning not the actual cost to the company). I just assume this because news outlets are always pushing something, likely UAW scum pushing the articles to get written.
  17. I know it isn't a guarantee but when there are that many offered, it is likely because it is the preferred choice. I also believe that when the fuel is mostly cheaper per country and it's more efficient, it makes the most sense for it to be a popular fuel source. https://autotraveler.ru/en/spravka/fuel-price-in-europe.html#.XbmUMihKiM8
  18. The above picture does not insinuate a gap like there is here. It only looks about a foot of a gap in the above picture, to me. In all fairness, the trailer on the above picture appears to be completely over the pairs of wheels as opposed to what the below picture shows.
  19. Ford and FCA don't have the profit numbers GM does so they might be able to skate by a little easier.
  20. Search any of the manufacturers' sites. Diesel is all over the place still.
  21. Oh boy, I sure hope you're joking...
  22. How... does it turn..?
  23. Yep, they need to dump them as soon as possible, along with Ford and FCA.
  24. Yeah, looks like sh!t, just like the Regal.
