Chicago 2019: 2019 Jetta GLI: Comments
ccap41 replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
I REALLY like the interior on the new Jettas and a GLI version would be a pretty sweet daily. -

That's kind of a disappointing update for a company who released a teaser pic.- 26 replies

Chicago 2019: 2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro: Comments

Hmmm interesting.. Neat to offer more TRD Pro options but this is definitely the least attractive of the bunch. -

Blah Blah Blah Mercedes 7.7L is weaker than the much smaller displacement Diesels. Shouldn't it be like 600hp/1200lb-ft of torque? They should get with the times already. With the more compact pushrod design, I doubt its much or any physically larger than the DOHC Coyote.- 52 replies

I'd LOVE to see a swap into the mustang with this! I don't care what the power numbers are stock, it would just be really cool.- 52 replies

Without actually saying that.. Ford said that. They said they know the requirements of medium duty trucks and all that. I believe it is in the below video. I don't know how to embed them so you can just click "play". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FtNlfAbc2w&feature=youtu.be- 52 replies

ReAlLy? Ram makes due with 1.0L less displacement in their 6 cyl and they make 400hp and 1000lb-ft or torque. Ford makes due with 1.0L less displacement and they make 450hp and 935lb-ft or torque Chevy makes due with 1.1L less displacement and they make 445hp and 910lb-ft of torque. Tell Mercedes if they need any pointers to come across the pond.- 52 replies

I know it's plenty, just as if this new 7.3 put out 500lb-ft would be plenty but not as much as others or other options or whatever the fck he's trying to convey.- 52 replies

I can't tell if you're serious or think I'm being serious.. I'm just digging at the Mercedes fanboi in the room who always likes to take digs at anything American.- 52 replies

This is a work truck engine. What part about that is difficult to understand. Check this spec out.. Mercedes Unimog has a 7.7L 6cyl making 299hp and 899tq. That's some weak-ass sh!t.- 52 replies

Chicago 2019: Ram's Multifunction Tailgate: Comments
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
It's nice to see more innovation but I think overall I like the GMC's much better. I would definitely rather have this over a regular tailgate, fwiw.- 9 replies

What were people still buying the gas V10 for? That's what this is replacing.

This was my thinking. Smart move to utilize the torquey design. Aren't there still rumors of a 7 liter going into the Rams?- 52 replies

I meant the 718 Cayman's 3000lbs
-
That's not true. I'd hear my Escape spool at 2k at part throttle and climb hills without a downshift. Boost takes fractions of a second to start building. It isn't like you immediately need full boost.
-
I guess I should have clarified, n/a inline 4* Not I. Torque, please. Those are sub 3000lb cars.
-
That was back when V6 engines made more torque than horsepower.. Now you need to rev the piss out of them for motivation. Inline 4cyl-like powerbands.
-
They are one hell of a good used value. 21-23k.
-
Ford has all but completely phased out their n/a V6 because n/a V6's blow.

This is just another application that GM needs to drop the 2.7T in. Enough of this 3.6 already.
