They've both proven to be ballsy enough already(turbo 4cyl & turbo 6cyl in TRUCKS). They aren't going to let some startup take this away from them

ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)I cant realistically see a 50/50 merger either. No way. Helping each other in certain markets for certain vehicle? Sure.

I completely agree. With GM and their Bolt technology and Ford saying a year or so ago they're working on hybridizing the F150.. I have a feeling both of those auto monsters know when and how to roll out their electrified versions. Not to say they are always correct but there's more data available now than ever to not screw that kind of thing up.

I will not donate my money to a startup auto company.. It's one of the most difficult markets to crack into.

That 20hp is probably a wash when you add a couple hundred pound AWD system and the increased drivetrain losses..

CES 2019: 2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA :Comments
It's the most common but 75% is a big stretch. All truck sales alone are just under 3,000,000 units(2,949,395 to be exact). Add in MB, BMW, and all other luxury brands and that alone will be well under 75% FWD 4 cylinder vehicles. I'm just saying your estimate of 75% is way too high.

You didn't have a question mark in the paragraph. What was the question?

Fourth-Quarter 2018: General Motors
No, they usually give them at least a retuned suspension and sometimes larger or grippier brakes and tires. The Fusion Sport got their "Continuously Controlled Damping" system. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15349337/when-the-roads-gone-to-pot-fords-fusion-sport-will-mitigate-pothole-shocks-video/ It isn't as sporty as an enthusiast wants but it's not a genuine weakness. They gave it a pretty neat suspension system. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15349337/when-the-roads-gone-to-pot-fords-fusion-sport-will-mitigate-pothole-shocks-video/

Nor does Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda, etc. The sportiest is/was the Fusion Sport.

Luckily, 99.9% of driving doesn't involve the limits that a car has an advantage at.

There isn't much performance a CUV loses to in a Malibu, Fusion, or Impala.. Yeah, there's a Fusion Sport as an outlier.
