  1. This was actually the first thing of his I ever listened to. I was impressed but I could feel the awkwardness at times with his pauses and his "laugh".
  2. I said the same thing when I first saw it. That alone made everything else look worse. Move that up or down or ANYWHERE BUT THE MIDDLE OF THE BUMPER. That seems like it would be the ideal size. It isn't so much the size of the windows when I sat in one as much as it was where you sat in relation to the windows. The driver seemed to sit so low it made the windows feel even smaller. That's not with @dfelt sitting in the driver's seat! I'm glad it isn't because who takes their kid out places in their pajamas?!
  3. In the interview he said he's only smoked weed a few times. I think he worded it as "almost never". I don't know how he does it either. I actually really enjoyed the interview because he really is just an insanely smart guy. You could tell he's a socially awkward person but he's a genius. His companies come about when a genius has money to follow through with their ideas. Weed isn't federally legal but it is legal in the state that he was in so I don't see the issue with it.
  4. I said nothing about "brand" and just the two individual items, ATS and CTS, don't sell well. Compared to their copmetition, they don't. I know I know, "THEY DON'T OFFER THE VARIATIONS THE COMPETITION DOES." I mentioned those two vehicles because if GM decided to make a RWD Chevy sedan it would very likely be one of those platforms stretched or shrunk.
  5. Would the same picture been taken had he drank a beer? Both are legal.
  6. I know what you're talking about but this would be on Alpha and I don't see any conceivable way that this would be priced enough below the Cadillac siblings to sell. Is this SS going to be ATS or CTS sized? The trunk pics were of the Mustang and Camaro. As @Drew Dowdell would say, they're priced against each other targeting the same market of people. That's why they're compared. Was that the 90's-00's with the 17ft front overhang?
  7. Yeah but wasn't that mostly direct orders? It's hard to hold sales against something like that when most can't or won't see one just sitting on a lot. The problem with the stereotypical "enthusiast car" is they're expensive. We want a V8 and we want RWD. Those combinations already narrow their customer base down to about 3/4 of the United States before anything else.
  8. It's called the ATS or CTS already. They don't sell well.
  9. And my point was that picture was taken 100% out of context by people who don't like him or his company. Just like politics, somebody can be slandered with one poor picture taken at an awkward timing. If you watched it, that is absolutely the worst possible picture that could have been taken. He literally took one hit. He didn't just sit back and light it up and look like a jackass. People who wanted him to look bad, made him look bad.
  10. Yep, the Durango as well. I'm not much of an FCA fan but what they do have, sells pretty well and they're pretty good vehicles.
  11. I bet you didn't watch the podcast, did you? Picture taken and spread by Ford, GM, and FCA or their fanboys.
  12. ^ Preaches for EV's to take over the world.
  13. Do you really think the public is THAT stupid that they don't know the difference between an empty and loaded vehicle? The girls that I'm friends with notice when they have a vehicle full of people vs when it's just them driving around. They're not car people in any way.
  14. Well I am not willing to pay for testing of a vehicle that is loaded to its max for no fckn reason. That's such a rare circumstance for 99% of people.
  15. Also, we would be paying for those additional useless(imo) tests. This stuff costs money and for the few people that buy a vehicle and load it to max weight and drive 15mph over the speed limit and are surprised they get poor fuel economy..I could care less about them.
  16. There is no need to measure a vehicle's towing fuel economy.. Even people that tow regularly still probably only have a small percentage of miles with a trailer hooked up and ones that REALLY tow regularly are already in a vehicle that doesn't require ratings. Look at the testing procedure. https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/fe_test_schedules.shtml It's more in-depth than what you just wrote out.
  17. Some are much better than others. The bezel on them can make or break them. The BMW there definitely looks the best with the smallest bezel and it looks the best incorporated into the center stack. Why would that angle be optimal in the Malibu? The Ford focus' looks the cheapest.. It even looks better in the EcoSport..
  18. I very much agree with that. Everything is pretty quick these days and most everything is leaps and bounds higher quality than just 10 years ago. I mean we have family cars and 1500 trucks running mid to low 14's that aren't considered performance vehicles. Those are just your average F150 with the 3.5 EB or Silverado 6.2 or Toyota Camry! The only stuff I do take more to heart is when they discuss responsiveness to infotainment systems. Having had a slow and crappy MyFordTouch and now a much quicker and smoother Sync3 I understand the differences and how some are much better than others so I do like to hear about that stuff. I actually think most every test has nothing to do with real-world driving. I can't think of one test that is very similar to anything we do daily. The closest might be the 30-50mph and 50-70mph acceleration. I can't sense sarcasm or not.. but I'll act as if you're not being sarcastic. How is sprinting 0-60 and finding how much fuel it uses finding "real world efficiency"? That almost sounds the complete opposite of finding real world efficiency.
  19. Neither is perfect. 0-60 with all of the electronics they use to launch the cars and brake torquing them to 3000rpm isn't very "real world" either.
  20. I can't tell which is which. Four 3-Series.
  21. The're all too damn close. It's more a measurement of traction than overall straight line performance. Non of which you said requires brake torquing or using a launch control to get up to speed. I get what you're saying but when we're talking a tenth or two it's pretty stupid. I'd prefer 1/4 mile time w/ MPH. It still includes starting from a stop but there's more than 1 gear change to consider, the mph can say a lot about where the power is in the power band(3.5 EcoBoost vs 6.2GM), and aero plays a role at those speeds.
  22. LOL, right?!? Nothing outside of what you just said looks like a 3-Series.
  23. Completely disagree on how few people are badge snobs. I'd argue that most people are badge snobs, in general. Anybody making 50k can afford a German luxury car and that's why there are 3/C/4 sold. People buy Apple products for status, Coach/Michael Kors purses for status, Beats headphones for status... They're all overpriced for what they are but they're also all high quality products but not necessarily the best for the money.
