Afterthoughts: The Joys and Perils of Replacing Headlights
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Opinion
It looks like a finger tip type of job after looking it up.. or do it the way you did it. Light bulbs are either super duper easy or they are a huge pain in the @ss. Not too often are they like a 10 minute job. It's either 2 minutes or 45 minutes.. I replaced the driver side fog light on my Focus a few months ago and it probably took me 40 minutes to get it back in. When I was at the dealer last I asked them about it and they said it would only cost $10 INCLUDING the price of the bulb. It'll go there next time.- 10 replies

Realistically, I would never consider it "out of the question". Things change, markets change, economies change.. too many variables to say it is completely out of the question. This just sounds like saving face for the current situation.

They've both proven to be ballsy enough already(turbo 4cyl & turbo 6cyl in TRUCKS). They aren't going to let some startup take this away from them

I cant realistically see a 50/50 merger either. No way. Helping each other in certain markets for certain vehicle? Sure.

I completely agree. With GM and their Bolt technology and Ford saying a year or so ago they're working on hybridizing the F150.. I have a feeling both of those auto monsters know when and how to roll out their electrified versions. Not to say they are always correct but there's more data available now than ever to not screw that kind of thing up.

I will not donate my money to a startup auto company.. It's one of the most difficult markets to crack into.

How did you get that information? I tried fiddling with that site and couldn't find regional information like you found. Mine, more or less, asks me about specific jobs and what I'm looking for.- 57 replies

Yeah, I wasn't sure how well that would upload.. Haha gas has dropped to under $2/gal here. $1.94/gal is what I paid yesterday. I average about 32mpg so a full tank is worth about 350 miles, on average. I read that the flow rate of gas pumps are between 10-11 gallons per minute, fwiw.- 57 replies

That 20hp is probably a wash when you add a couple hundred pound AWD system and the increased drivetrain losses..

I could see interiors like this being the future regardless of this specific company being successful or not. -

I know if I wasn't guaranteed a job in a few months I would be taking the checks I can get now and managing that money carefully.. Then again I feel like I'm smart enough not to put myself in a situation where I'm striking my employer.. ??♂️

It's the most common but 75% is a big stretch. All truck sales alone are just under 3,000,000 units(2,949,395 to be exact). Add in MB, BMW, and all other luxury brands and that alone will be well under 75% FWD 4 cylinder vehicles. I'm just saying your estimate of 75% is way too high.

Hahaha youi're welcome! Full articles, if you're interested. Fusion Sport Edge ST

The 2 million trucks sold last year would like to have a word with you.

You didn't have a question mark in the paragraph. What was the question?

No, they usually give them at least a retuned suspension and sometimes larger or grippier brakes and tires. The Fusion Sport got their "Continuously Controlled Damping" system. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15349337/when-the-roads-gone-to-pot-fords-fusion-sport-will-mitigate-pothole-shocks-video/ It isn't as sporty as an enthusiast wants but it's not a genuine weakness. They gave it a pretty neat suspension system. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a15349337/when-the-roads-gone-to-pot-fords-fusion-sport-will-mitigate-pothole-shocks-video/

Nor does Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Mazda, etc. The sportiest is/was the Fusion Sport.
