Detroit 2019: 2019 RAM HD Trucks: Comments
They could just update them to get at least modern efficiency out of them. Is that a lot to ask for? The Silverado and F150 smoke the 5.7 in performance and they're the same or better in fuel economy ratings(with the 6.2 and 3.5EB). I bet if they did this people wouldn't really bat an eye and they'd love it. I don't really understand the fascination with straight 6's but it seems like people love them for some reason.

No, but those high hp versions are only in SRT vehicles. Also, this is a 6.4 putting out 410hp, fwiw. I also don't think the phrase, "The Hemi is capable of delivering more HP than any other street engine out there" is accurate.. It isn't like the 840hp engine is just the 375hp engine with a supercharger with zero modifications done to it. They build it as necessary, as would any other company. Just in the same way GM didn't just put a massive blower on the 6.2 to make 755hp. They built the engine knowing it will be 755hp with the necessary components. But yes, these are dated int he sense that they aren't the most powerful(the ones not in SRTs) and they aren't efficient. They're a mix of "okay".

ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)This will be a very good car. I have no doubt in that. I just doubt it will be 50k good.

There's no vehicle they offer that has 5 HEMI options.

There still won't be a road legal version of the Rivian on the road in 12 months.. is my prediction.

Until these EV startup companies have something to sell and they pass safety requirements they're completely insignificant to me. All fluff no substance yet.

The Rivian will be a joke next to a Power Wagon.

It isn't the torque number itself, it's how high in the RPM range it is.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Cadillac XT6: Comments
100% agree.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Ford Explorer ST and Hybrid: Comments
Hmmm.. I'd prefer plug-in but I'm not realistically in the market for one of these anyway.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Ford Explorer ST and Hybrid: Comments
Yes, please. Although, if I'm being honest, I'd prefer the 2 row Edge ST over this. I like the RWD proportions and, assuming, dynamics but I don't drive aggressive often enough to take advantage of that in an SUV. So is this hybrid a plug-in? I didn't see anything about range..- Detroit 2019: 2020 Ford Shelby GT500: Comments
The numbers are going to be pretty nuts with this but the nose isn't the prettiest. I don't think it's ugly but I'm not "Wowed" by the nose or spoiler. 7spd DCT is interesting.. Very interesting.. I would as well. My skill level isn't high enough to be able to control another 200hp and I just can't get enough of the 5.2 flat plane crank's noises. I'll gladly take the "slower" of the two.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Cadillac XT6: Comments
What @dfelt said. I assume DOHC has emissions advantages as everybody has moved to them awhile ago. This is why I'm surprised they didn't use some other engine or have a second optional engine with more torque for the larger vehicle that this is.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Cadillac XT6: Comments
It's going to be tough to get more test miles in when they're canceling it.. Yeah, a base 3.6 would be fine but something more powerful as an option, with all the GM's available engines, should have been an obvious decision.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Cadillac XT6: Comments
You don't need to be an enthusiast to test drive two vehicles and one has torque and one doesn't.- Detroit 2019: 2020 Cadillac XT6: Comments
This is nice and disappointing.. Same lame V6 rated the same as their chevy counterpart and no showing off of their tech with Super Cruise.- Random Thoughts Thread

It looks like a finger tip type of job after looking it up.. or do it the way you did it. Light bulbs are either super duper easy or they are a huge pain in the @ss. Not too often are they like a 10 minute job. It's either 2 minutes or 45 minutes.. I replaced the driver side fog light on my Focus a few months ago and it probably took me 40 minutes to get it back in. When I was at the dealer last I asked them about it and they said it would only cost $10 INCLUDING the price of the bulb. It'll go there next time.- Rumorpile: Ford and Volkswagen To Reveal Their Alliance At Detroit: Comments
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)Realistically, I would never consider it "out of the question". Things change, markets change, economies change.. too many variables to say it is completely out of the question. This just sounds like saving face for the current situation.- 22 replies
