The last thing I played a crap ton of was Grand Turismo 6 on PS3. I've been busy with life the last X years and haven't even bought one of the newest systems that have been out for quite awhile now. I freakin' loved that game though. I've had all of the Gran Turismo games and they were definitely the most realistic but I'm not sure where that stands now.

1. Autonomous driving cars won't magically make people not scared to be behind the wheel. 2. This also won't help those driver who choose to stay in the left lane, move out of the left lane. Maybe you're assuming 100% autonomous vehicles where you just put in an address at your house and you can fall asleep behind the wheel before it even gets out of the driveway? I don't see that kind of technology being widespread in ten years or less.

Mmmm exhaust on a V6. I bet that sounds just wonderful. The E43 is a fake AMG just like the C43 is and just like BMW's M-Sports and Audi's S-Sports.

S4, S6, S7, S8 are the Audi version of BMW's 340i, 540i, 650i, 750i and Mercedes'(now in fake AMG guise) C43, E43, S560 The "new" AMG's that are the C43 and E43 are no more than an appearance package on what used to be the C and E400. Yes, they throw more boost at the 3.0 but there really isn't a whole lot there that isn't offered on the E400. I mean look at their highlights for the car... The first things you see are basically the same as the E400.

If it's marketing wouldn't it benefit them more to do it the way they're doing it? It is working. My friend's mom who bought a 540i a month or two ago has the M Sport package and keeps saying she has the top of the line M BMW. No, No you do not. And I did already agree that the brand is diluting itself but you said they "should be only a single top level and the rest below it are various levels of the standard auto." There's no reason, especially as consumers and auto enthusiasts, that we shouldn't welcome more and more performance variations.

They've abslutely diluted the brand the same way BMW has diluted the M brand with "M Sport" with how they've lowered the brand to C43, E43, etc. Oh and Audi with their "S-Sport" package. All fluff and little content outside of aesthetics.

They really do need to do something with that car. Considering they're all-in on the quite/soft luxury leasing a FWD Mazda6 would be great. Wouldn't that only benefit both companies? It could have been but it was parked at a restaurant. The gf and I were walking in and the wheels caught my eye and I quickly looked for an AMG badge and was pleasantly surprised. I knew I took a picture of it and when I found it.. it was a GLE and not a GLC. lol

I have always hated when people say X just copied Y. It's called competing and that's how companies work. If there is a place to make money, they'll do it.

While I completely agree with you there is also something to be said about a truly "luxury" vehicle that isn't looking directly at profits. I agree that FWD-based is completely fine for these vehicles, I just don't think looking at profits is the best way to look at it. Sometimes your ROI might be a generation or two away as you're building their image. Right??? That's about the only thing Lincoln has done right in the last few decades. The thing is, none of us know what the cost is of these vehicles. For all you and I know that 41k XT5 only costs GM 25k while that 50k GLC costs MB 40k. It could very easily be vise versa as well. Point is, we don't know.

GLC is RWD but the GLA, which is what I think you meant, is FWD-based.
