I think I'd prefer the non-AMG grille but everything else looks like standard G-Wagen stuff, perfect. I'll take one in dark grey, please.

Personally, I'd take a GLS over an Escalade for a handful of reasons. Size, engine choices, SO MUCH LESS CHROME, SO MUCH LESS CHROME, did I mention that there is SO MUCH LESS CHROME? Navigator is all chromed out as well... The thing I hate most is chrome door handles and fake vents. Grilles and wheels are okay.

Way awesome! I'll have to check it out later when I can listen to it. I just watched it because I'm at work.
-
interesting, I've never heard of them.
-
I think they are because of a few reasons... 1: car stereos are much better quality from the factory now 2: all of the steering wheel controls and OE sound processors can be a nightmare to sort out for an average guy and 3: because of #2 prices are a lot higher for things. for instance, because I want to keep my factory touchscreen and steering wheel controls I have to buy an adapter($100) to get the correct inputs for the amplifier. I assume that is a local stereo center? They didn't have something I was really looking for. I haven't heard one of the Bazooka tubes in person but any time I talk about them at places that even sell them they basically say if I'm looking for a lot of bass you'll be disappointed. If you just want to add bass to compliment a system, they're very good. Yeah Bose makes good home(and assuming boat stuff). True audiophiles will say they're junk and lack X Y and Z and are overpriced but they do what their intended goal is very good for a simple all--in-one system.
-
I've never seen or heard of Bose making aftermarket car audio systems. They're good for home stuff but they're not the kind of sound I want in a music-only sound system.
-
Haha Oh, I definitely understand that. That's why I'm not saying buy a A4 over an Arteon...

Oh yeah I've been all over their site many times yet I've never actually bought anything from them. Probably my biggest concern is size and keeping it compact. I know I could throw a big 12" woofer in a 80lb box and there's plenty of space. I want it smallish and I want to be able to take it out with ease as well. I'm just in a predicament where I want small/compact, affordable, but with plenty of bumps.

I will admit I didn't even click the link but it just seems so worthless to buy two cars like that and then never even let them be seen until 30 years later. He likely would have done better investing is money in stocks/bonds/etc than keeping those cars like he did.
-
Isn't the A4 much smaller than this? Another stupid comparison.

I'm really craving buying a sound system for my car, more specifically, some subwoofers. Anybody have knowledge or experience with a recent setup? I has a system in my first car but that's been gone for about 10 years. What I think I want but I'm afraid it won't be quite enough for how much it all costs is this: JL Audio dual 8" W3v3's It's compact and I test fit one last week at an audio shop and it fits perfectly behind my back seats in the hatch area but it's only 6 inches deep as to keep most of my space available still. It sounded good in their test room but I'm afraid that or the like $1100 or so I'll be disappointed. They're 8's so they naturally just can't get the duper deep lows.

The Titanium also comes with the 1.0T standard with the 2.0 optional. Add the 2.0 and it comes with AWD as well and it's $1500 more and boom, more expensive again.
-
I know what you mean but... these were stored in a storage center and not a barn out in a field in the middle of nowhere.

Why would somebody do that? What's the point of doing that? If you're going to do that in an attempt to make something off of them, you should at least keep them clean..

Chicago 2018: 2019 Toyota TRD Pro Gets Upgraded: Comments
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
I want a TRD Taco so damn bad. I wish both GM and Toyota would at least give these off road performance truck a little boost in power also. If nothing else but to compensate for the larger/heavier tires and less aero friendly to make it not slower than the base models. GM could get away with throwing a more aggressive tune on just the 2.8 to possibly increase some more demand for the optional, more pricey, engine. Maybe just bring it up to 200hp/400tq..? If that's too much of a torque gain then 200hp/385-390tq..? -
I think a form of what I think GM has in their trucks and now the '19 Ram, a system to get the vehicle going under pure electricity then at highway speeds the diesel engine could kick on when they're more efficient. I know the current ones' egines kick on much sooner than highway speeds but if they could use pure electricity under 45mph and then pure diesel above that... that'd be hitting the best of both fuel sources while meeting the needs of the range anxiety people. Basically a Volt. Just make a Volt-Transit. lol

Dream Garage- New Average Transaction Price Edition
ccap41 replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
Hahaha I'm just saying... That would be my only glaring change. Otherwise, I like the list. I've never driven a Miata but an awful lot of people seem to like them. That would go perfectly with the larger Mustang. A dancer and a brawler. -

R/T starts at $43,695 for 2WD and $46,295 for AWD. If this was on my list the 2WD would work as I'd still have a 4WD truck, if I needed to squeeze it in for price. -

The only one I'd want to change would be the Pilot for a Durango R/T. It probably isn't as nice or luxurious as the Pilot but that V8... And it just looks so damn good. @Drew Dowdell @dfelt What about you guys?? FYI the Drew & delt post was separate from the Durango one.. I'm not asking them to side with me on the opinion Hahaha -
Edge Titanium starts at 36k, with a 2.0T, MKX base price is 39k with a 3.7L. I clicked every box on a Titanium and it got to $44,550. All you need is the base Premier + engine and AWD to get to $43,550. That's the Lincoln nobody wants, the base package. Black Label is nearly 60k. 10k base price difference and about the same on the top end as well. The things that bring the Sport close to 48k that I don't see most getting is the rear DVD players for $1,995. Take that away and it's 46k and still a decent difference between the two vehicles. A Tahoe and Yukon can also be priced above a base Escalade, Let alone a Denali.
