  1. Lol 60,000? They are that big of pieces of $h!? Plus, with 5 cars it really wouldn't get driven much. But as a "dream garage" I have to assume nobody is really considering maintenance and that $h! otherwise I'd just swap it for a GT500/ZL1.
  2. Sorry, this one doesn't have a rebuilt title. V8 Vantage
  3. EXACTLY! There are so many other vehicle out there for similar money(higher and lower) that do the job of this so much better. It isn't like this 3.6 is going to win many drag races matched to a 4500lb sled. realistically(and sadly) my 2.0T Escape probably won't be far behind this in a race. and it does all of the other things this is supposed to do...better.. AWD/4WD Jeep Cherokee 3.6 is in the same ballpark.
  4. That's what I thought as well.. Why spend the time assembling it just to immediately disassemble it?
  5. Both the ZL1 and 911 S were on my list as well...I ended up axing them but they were there. I did see a handful of 2006-2007 Carreras and a couple 'S's as well without a zillion miles on them.
  6. Welcome to the gang, It's a good one! I've loved the ones I've had.
  7. New: 2016/17 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road, Double Cab, 4WD, MANUAL TRANSMISSION(!), 35k-ish New: 2016/17 Focus RS(white) + "19-inch Premium Painted Forged Alloy Wheels" = $38,400 (not the one pictured, that was just a pic I had in my photobucket account but It will LOOK like that one - white and black) New: 2017 Camaro 1SS + Magnetic Ride Control Suspension + low gloss painted aluminum wheels-black = $39,795 Used: 2006/7 Aston Martin V8 Vantage(manual) - Aston Martin V8 Vantage Autotrader Used: 2014/15 Audi SQ5 Prestige or Premium Plus and I'd have to drive the TDI(which might be impossible to find now) and the 3.0 s/c to see which one I'd want more. Q7 Autotrader - The People Hauler Used(Honorable Mention): I know it doesn't fit but it's only $3500 off!! ATS-V w/ only 2,700 miles, Phantom Grey(like we all seem to like). ATS-V Autotrader
  8. How beautiful is this car/color combo??
  9. You can't buy those to drive daily though. They are good buys as far as value but they're mostly only desirable with low miles.
  10. Mustangs don't hold their value well unless it is a specialty Cobra of some sort. I mean we even have a thread for sub 30k cars and a Mustang GT PP falls under 30k in less than 2 years and those are near 40k cars.
  11. Trucks, and Wranglers... That's about it.
  12. Oh yeah I meant to say that MT's test was in SoCal where the temperatures are pretty much PERFECT for EV range(or range for anything).
  13. One issue I still have with EVs is the variation in weather efficiency. When it's in the teens and single digit temperatures I still have to drive the same distances daily/weekly, same in the summer when highs are in the 10X's. What kind of variation is there in range with those extremes?
  14. I know what you mean but if they started research on that stuff 50 years ago instead of the last 10 could you imagine where we would be today? I'm also not suggesting companies should have poured incredible resources into the tech back then but if Wings is correct and these companies aren't in it for themselves but to do it for the good of the people and world then there should have been a mainstream EV out by the year 2000. But no... They need the government to hold their hand because they can't do it for themselves. Again, Look at China's smog problem for proof that corporations will only do what they have to, to get by.
  15. If their goal was efficiency and competitiveness why in the world did it take 100+ years to get an EV to the market? The technology has been out there and prototypes have been out there.. why has nobody gone through with it until late?
  16. Great review, as always, Frisky! My only "gripe" is the 170hp engine.. I REALLY FREAKING WISH they offered the GTI's 2.0T as an option.
  17. Absolutely agree! I cannot ever see myself spending over 30k on a vehicle even in the used market(which is a lot of vehicle) even if I was making very good money. It's just a large number to choke down on something that depreciates so hard.
  18. Ford Focus EV... You can't tell me they did it this way because they wanted to.
  19. Then you shouldn't have anything to gripe about if they're doing it because they wanted to in the first place.
  20. Because if they didn't force companies to make changes, they never would. It costs money to invest in EV programs and balls to go ahead and go through with it. Something most companies wouldn't dare do on their own unless forced to. Companies don't just take billion dollar risks for the heck of it. Look at China for an absolutely perfect example of this. They're all choking on smog because there aren't regulations..so automakers don't spend money where they don't need to.
  21. 2014 Chevy SS Manual(40-60k miles) Chevy SS Autotrader 2011 BMW M3 Coupe ( 50k-ish miles) 2011 M3 Autotrader 2015 Mustang GT PP 2015 Mustang GT PP 2016/2017 Tacoma SR5 Double Cab, 3.5L V6 ...2WD... 29,690 (4WD = 33,xxx - Access Cab still put 4WD over price otherwise I'd do that for 4WD(32,525)) 2016/2017 Mazda CX-5 AWD Touring + Tech Package(LED Headlights/fogs/running/taillights) + Moonroof/Bose Package = $29,820
  22. Hmmmmm 30k.. I think there will be another C5Z on the list like @ykX.. hard to pass up that and a GT PP but I might be able to squeak in a BOSS 302 at 30k but it will be riiiiight at 30k.
  23. Well yeah, a rough BMW is asking for tens of thousands of repair bills waiting for it, let alone an M Series. I'm just saying.. for the sake of a "Dream Garage" that none of the cars I would get would be in rough shape.
  24. I thought about putting that into consideration because they are used with miles but I just decided to pass.. This is after all a dream garage so I'm just hoping and praying that they are all in at least decent condition because it is nobody's dream to own a POS M3 lol.
