I prefer this stuff. YES, that stuff rocks! Mmmmm I really do enjoy it! It's just tough to find around here for some reason. A store will have it and I'll buy it and then because salt isn't one thing you buy weekly or even monthly by the time I go to buy it again the store doesn't have it anymore!

Chevrolet News:Chevrolet Turns the Wick Up On the 2017 Camaro ZL1
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
I'm pretty sure that was Drew actually. I don't think he would have just been making things up w/o some knowledge. (check the other ZL1 thread for his words). You are correct, there is no GT500 right now. Nor is there a Z28 but I don't think we should really compare two different style cars. If anything I think we can all agree the 1LE is way more GT350/R competitor than a ZL1 is.- 28 replies

The Hellcat wasn't even the top speed leader when it first came out(mfgr claim: 199mph GT500 mrgr claim:202 - both stupid manufacturer claims). Horsepower king, yes. power:weight ratio = GT500. The only thing the Hellcat did over the GT500 was use an independent rear end and had an automatic trans. ZL1 was the best all around car of those three. While not the quickest or fastest it gave the best package. Literally, all the Hellcat has ever really had is raw power but even it's heft was too much to the point of 100% driver skill would win in a race.

Cadillac wins midsize comparison about a blend of luxury and performance
ccap41 replied to Suaviloquent's topic in Cadillac
So did you read his entire back story and not just the part where he worked for GM fifty years ago? http://www.automobilemag.com/author/robert-cumberford/ As a matter of fact, he is just as honest about the new Camaro. http://www.automobilemag.com/news/2016-chevrolet-camaro-design-analysis/ Nah, I just read the part where he worked for GM which was all I needed to read to know 'Bong would be worshiping his words. So you're letting your bias against Bong, in this case, get in the way of the fact that this reviewer is very accredited and gives equal treatment to all makes? Absolutely. lol But in all seriousness... I'm not a fan of the guy's reviews. I read a small handful on cars that I really though were good looking and a couple I wasn't a fan of and I just don't agree with him. He seems to pick things apart in a way that doesn't make sense to me. -

Isn't this more GT500 territory? The last GT500 and ZL1 I thought were competitors. They were the more GT-like cars.- 28 replies

Even from a stand still? That's hard to believe because of the AWD vs RWD. Are the turbos that big that there is all sorts of lag as well? I would have thought the lighter weight, AWD, and low end turbo tq would have made it feel quicker -
Don't even act like you don't LOOOOOVE rubbing in anything and everything GM does. When you're getting smack talk like this DIRECTLY FROM THE MANUFACTURER, downvoting me is remarkably petty.Don't hate the player. Hate the game Or, if you're a Ford fan, hate the dullards, beancounters, and fatheads who allowed the company to become so uncompetitive in this segment. Yeah, the game of TrollSoHardLikeWings. I think everybody dislikes that game. 'cept you. The car is fantastic. No doubt about that. But then you throw out crap like "Or, if you're a Ford fan, hate the dullards, beancounters, and fatheads who allowed the company to become so uncompetitive in this segment." What about FCA? They don't have anything competitive either. Hellcat competitive to a hopped up pony car? Absolutely not. Or are you just TrollingSoHard to only get under specific people/person's skin?

Welcome back, Justin!

Well I'll be damned, that's one sharp looking Camaro! The wheels looks GREAT! The hood looks GREAT! The black is used perfectly! If I'm going to nit pick the exterior changes it would be the(most likely) functional front splitter being a little large. It is odd that GM would release the first issue of the 10spd in a Chevy and that Chevy wouldn't be a Corvette Z06 but that goes to show that GM still has some issues like Ford/Lincoln with crap like that. The premier premium stuff should start in their...premium... vehicles or at least be released together.

Why do you think that, I love these concepts and thinking of what you would do or not do differently. Do NOT give up. I think you have some great threads. As you already know, I love them! Therefore, I agree with dfelt.

3.0TT isn't the fastest CT6. 4.0TT is coming.Right and I all along said they need a Dohc V8, I'd like to see it in a CTS VSport or Escalade too. But there were several people on CT6 threads a few months back saying the TT V6 would outrun their German V8s because of lower weight, and I knew that wouldn't be the case and it isn't.The German three also all offer a 6 liter 12 cylinder. That might not be for the CT6 to worry about but they need to remember that on CT8. smk does have a good point. SHOW YA FACES! -

Thanks, Olds! I got the idea from your...AT&T park..pic. lol Just a little bit of baseball heaven! While I would never want my 458 to burn to the ground..if I could replace it with a NEW GT and surgically plant a 5.2 in there I would take that in a heartbeat. Yes, it may ruin the dynamics of the car or something like that.. but I'll never take it to a track and I'd rather be able to just start it up in my garage and rev the piss out of it and hear the 5.2 over any V6 ever. I think, personally, I'd leave the 5.4 in that gen ( ^ ) GT. Still sounds great.
-
You're butt ugly! The 458 is a gorgeous car and it makes beautiful musical notes.

Ummm….. yeah. Not where I come from... Gasoline is expensive where I come from...literally, there are but a handful of V8s... The new Mustang is out and about in Montreal...Ive seen 7-8 of them in the wild...1 was a GT. The rest were all ecoboosted 4 cylinders... The LX cars from Chrysler...a decade ago...most were of the Hemi variety...today...all Pentastars. The price of oil is what? $30-$35 a barrel? In Montreal...the price of gasoline...87 octane...$1.09 CDN per liter today... I live too suburban for electric cars to surpass V8s for quite awhile. While I'm not in Texas or Kansas I'd still say the fields around me still say I'm in truck country and V8's a plenty still. Yes, there are a lot of 3.5T F150s around but there are still a lot of 5.0s along with the GM and Ram V8s. Trucks everywhere around my parts. Crazy how many people just want trucks because I see an awful lot of Platinums and Denalis which are barely even trucks as much as luxury SUVs with a bed. Random FYI: Regular unleaded just rose to $2.09/gallon around here. Just last week it was about $1.69-1.79/gallon and Missouri is always about $0.10-0.20/gallon cheaper.

Cadillac wins midsize comparison about a blend of luxury and performance

^ great words, Olds. Opinions on styling are exactly subjective. There just isn't a true way to measure style. The only way would be to poll EVERYBODY and that just isn't realistic in any way. That's why you adore cars I think are hideous and I adore cars you think are hideous. The closest possible way to measure would be sales and that's just ridiculous because there is no way everybody can buy the most beautiful cars. I guarantee you I wouldn't have bought an Escape, lol. NOW I understand why Bong takes his words to heart. "Robert Cumberford is a former automotive designer for General Motors" Everything makes since now. -
Sorry for your loss, bud. Thoughts and prayers out to you and your family.

That's how I felt as well. I too couldn't sit in it. It was all up on a spinning pedestal. -
Do i smell a "guess what I bought" thread"? coming?!?
-
lol I saw your post over at MT and thought the same thing..bring'r here! The 458 is just a gorgeous car that makes wonderful sounds. It was instantly one of the prettiest cars I've ever seen and I think its looks will always be there for me. The NSX looks a little too computer generated and less sculpted. 458

The What Would You Buy Instead Thread- New Audi TTS
ccap41 replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
I'd like to throw out an honorable mention for myself.. Jaguar F-Type Coupe, Manual, RWD, $62,995 and I'd have the wheels powder coated black probably with the extra money(if that's allowed). I don't think there would be any way I could choose a 340hp supercharged V6 over the GT350's 5.2 and 526hp but I absolutely LOVE the looks of the F-Type Coupe so I had to give it some props.. -
I don't think it would be any easier to bolt on a massive turbo to the 2.0 as it would the 3.6 because everything would have to change in terms of piping and intercooling anyway.
