"“Look how much fun Buick can be!” That’s what we imagine some Buick dealers will think at the sight of the new 2016 Buick Cascada, an attractive soft-top convertible that’s soon to brighten showrooms everywhere, or at least in the five states the automaker says make up half of all convertible sales—and to buyers who aren’t especially brand-loyal. The Cascada will serve Buick as another brand perception-breaker, and you won’t find a convertible at Acura, Cadillac, or Volvo. At a launch event in Florida, we drove the Buick Cascada with the top down, up, and unfolding at speed to determine whether Audi,BMW, or even Ford should be worried. Although the new-to-the-U.S. 2016 Buick Envision midsize crossover could become the brand’s best-seller in 2017 or 2018, the 2016 Cascada convertible enters a much lower-volume segment. The car reaches our shores thanks to Opel, General Motors’ European subsidiary, and has already been on sale in Europe for a couple years. Buick sprinkled in a few changes—suspension and steering tweaks, for example—but almost nothing has changed with the design aside from the Buick badges (not yet in color as on the 2017 LaCrosse) and huge 20-inch wheels in two styles. They’re standard equipment on every Cascada, part of an impressive standard-equipment list that helps disguise the fact that the car is closely based on a non-premium European model. ..." http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-buick-cascada-convertible-first-drive-review/

Cadillac CT6 Review Thread: Post Them ALL Here.

As much as I love/dig the design, flow, shapes, etc. I don't understand why in the hell they would place a black center piece on the steering wheel and a black chunk under the infotainment screen. Those color choices clash so hard to my eyes. It looks nicely layed out I just don't understand that color choice. Easy fix if to just order your CT6 with black on black. . -

I sat in a brand new Z06 last night at my local GM dealer. My dad was dropping off my brother's "new" Ion(check engine light on and it's under warranty) and they had a pretty red Z06 in the showroom. Oh course I went and drooled over it for a bit but the guy my dad was dealing with, also the salesman who he bought the Ion from, unlocked it for me and I had myself a seat. It actually felt really cramped, but in a good tight feeling kind of way. The seats definitely hugged the hips and waist really tight and I'm not a very large guy, 5'8", 180lbs. I have no clue how it would have been comfortable for somebody much larger than myself. I loved how the whole center stack was aimed at the driver. All in all, it was awesome. It felt so badass.

..I'd still rather own the 2WD Ram.. lol
-
Which only proves they don't know jack about trucks and 4WD. Sounds like the majority of pick up drivers here in Phoenix. All jacked up with no place to go. Oh definitely! I can't imagine all the big lifted useless trucks there are being in Phoenix, lol. I mean there are plenty here as well but I'm pretty sure everything that's lifted will be 4wd. Plenty of lifted, clean, pretty trucks here that will just never see dirt other than the summer when the combines are in the fields kicking up dust in the air.

Yeah but you KNOW those Ram and Silverado owners were talkin' all sorts of $h! how their 2WD truck could pull the 4WD ones. In both videos we have lifted, aftermarket wheels, HD diesels.. their drivers were cocky. lol

A minute gripe about it, and one that can be fixed with just a different color choice, which I would do anyway, buuuuuuut the light tan one in the Motor Trend review had a black center on the steering wheel that didn't blend well with me, any of the black that they used in the light tan interior. I know that's being picky but if that's the only real downside I noticed..then it's one heck of a good looking car. I'd just get a black interior anyway and not have to worry about that. -
That Dodge is not 4 wheel drive. Never saw anything but the one rear wheel ever move. Either that, or the driver is the biggest 4 wheel driving idiot on the planet. Both rear wheels were spining at one point( Around 44 seconds you can see the far sided one) but either way I never saw a front tire spinning so it had to be 2WD.

^ I LOVE watching the 24hrs at Daytona! I'd enjoy LeMans more but the coverage here is $h! compared to Daytona(I think we got a total of like 5-6 hours last year of LeMans)..or even a handful of the other endurance IMSA races. 2:40PM is the drop of the green flag! ..I think that's eastern time.. so 1:40 for us. ...1:40 is the drop of the green flag!! lol

Gnarly pic, right?? lol Well, until reading what everybody else has said I would have completely agreed with you! I guess it may not be quite as feasible as it "appears from the outside". As for the how ISIS gets their hands on Ford and GM trucks, here is an article I read awhile ago(and I think I posted it as well). Basing my guesstimate off the article, I would assume they literally just buy what they want here and bring them over wherever they want them. Oops, I kind of forgot the link. http://www.rawstory.com/2014/12/texas-plumber-has-no-idea-how-isis-militants-ended-up-with-his-old-truck/

EV Conversion, Does it Make Sense?
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Honestly, if number 1 is of any concern then that alone should sell the idea to you. It just seems like if that is something that crosses your mind and a concern then that concern will always be there if you bought something new with a gps or whatnot. As for the insurance... would you need to have it evaluated or something to make sure that it is covered properly? Meaning, if you didn't and the "book value" is only a few grand with them only knowing it is 22 years old with a lot of miles and you totaled it and they only gave you a few grand youd be out a lot of money. Would the insurance company need to know everything you spent on it so you don't get ripped off if it got totaled?- 46 replies

^ Correct me if I'm wrong, but, we're on the same page, right..? The name itself isn't selling the vehicle as much as 1: the product underneath. 2: actually KEEPING the name around. I think that's one thing that bugs me the most about actual names is like the D3 they axe the name and create a new name for the next car as opposed to BMW(for example) who will probably always have a 3 Series even when they do start over from scratch.

The GXP Torrant has the 3.6 DOHC rather than the 3.4 Pushrod.... it was made specifically to appease SMK. RWD as well? sure, if you disconnect the front CV joints. If it isn't then it wouldn't appease to SMK. lol

EV Conversion, Does it Make Sense?
ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in Electric Vehicles and Alternative Fuels
Dang that's a lot of money.. You'd really have to like the feel of electric drive and be willing to keep it for a long time aaaaaand also be willing to do the maintenance yourself as I don't know any place that would work on a custom electric drivetrain. Also, if in only 3 months you saved 8k and GAINED 200 miles per battery at what point will you draw the line and say "this is worth buying". If they are advancing that quickly it seems like a waste to even commit to the 400 mile range one for 20k assuming in a year there will be a 600 mile range for 15k(random numbers FYI). That actually sounds like the toughest part of the decision to me is when to actually pull the trigger. When is the technology to price good enough to purchase because, IMO, $55k for 400 miles of range isn't quite worth it. And mostly that is because you will have to do a lot of maintenance on your suburban to keep it up as well. Plus, assing all of this electric weight I'd assume you'd at least have to replace all four corners of suspension and brakes. It's just tough to justify at that cost still, to me. 1200 miles of range.. freakin AWESOME! It's at a hefty cost though.. At that price-ish I would just rather buy an E-Class diesel and get 40mpg.. To get the ~1200 range would that simply be 3 400 mile batteries(20k a piece) plus the same installation parts and labor? So roughly $95,000?- 46 replies

Cadillac News: Cadillac Is Working On A RWD Sedan To Sit Below ATS
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
Why do they need something special for EV cars/CUVs? Why not just continue with the CTe# or CT#e ? That is the whole point of posting this, what do people think Cadillac should do when it comes to pure electric auto's? I see what you mean and it does get a little fuzzy when you have a stand alone EV which shares nothing with a gasoline car. My initial thought was, " Electric CT6...throw an 'e' in there. CT6e" but I wasn't thinking of a stand alone car like the ELR which isn't an electric version of anything.- 79 replies

It's true but how do you do all sorts of variations(like the Germans do) with names? For instance, Instead of a 3/4 Series they use Continental(first "name" that came to my head). So you have a Continental, Continental Coupe, Countinental xDrive, Continental Coupe xDrive, Continental Wagon, Continental Wagon xDrive, Continental Gran Turismo, Continental Gran Turismo xDrive, aaaaaaaand that could all very well just be the base engine or the top of the line twin turbo 6(excluding M). See how wordy the German cars would be had they not just used a number. Also, the numbers actually hold equity in these cars. The numbers signify a larger engine, prestige, "better" car. Everybody that drives any BMW knows a 340i is a more expensive, faster, better equipped car than a 320i. The same exact thing can be said for MB. C300 vs C450. The numbers actually have some equity to them. Just my view on it though. Two things- First off, I see no problem with all the hypothetical Continental variants. You put the model name on one side of the deck lid, you put the variant on the other. 'Conti' on the left, 'Touring', 'Coupe', whatever on the right. Simple. As for the Germans, their names used to at least make sense for the most part. A 325i had a 2.5 liter engine. A 540i had a 4.0 engine. Now, they're a mess. They need to go back their ols naming scheme. Call a 320i a 320i, Call a 328i a 328is. Call the 335i a 330i. This $h! ain't hard. They're just making it convoluted. Alright, I see what you mean as well. And I do agree. MB was the same.. C350 was a 3.5 C32 AMG..3.2L C55 AMG...5.5L Now a C63 AMG is a 4.0L Looking at it like this it it waaaaay more of a mess right now. It almost seems as if they are afraid to decrease the number as if signifying a downgrade in vehicle.
