  1. Just make it look ten thousand times better than the hideous Caliber and you'd have a winner. Guess they can always go back to the Neon, that was a huge hit for them. The versatility of the Caliber was much better but yes, the Neon did much better for them. Personally, I'd take a hatch over a sedan any day and everyday.
  2. Just a compliment from Opel to BMW for choosing a nice Headlight design. So why redesign the wheel when it is easier to buy it from the same supplier! Not really a criticism. Just the first thing I noticed when I saw it.
  3. Sorry but $36K for a 4000lb. 200HP four banger convertible, that resembles the old GM with the rebadge job, is just not going to cut it. Bad move by GM in a long list of good moves by them as of late.
  4. I have to say, I see what ccap is talking about. My issue with it is that just does not look nearly as good as everything else that Buick is getting ready to put out. Within a year, that car will be the new Sebring Convertible, collecting dust in the corner of every Buick lot because it simply does not look as new as the models that will be out within that same year. I do not get this move by GM at all. Get to work on that Avista (and Avenir while you're at it) already and ditch the Buick Sebring.

  6. Why does the E Class use a similar shifter while the GLA uses a Chrsyler like dial? Shouldn't they use the same shifter?Seriously. Totally different powertrains. I believe the FWD 8-speed is an outsourced trans. That XT5 shifter is shared with the new Lacrosse using the same trans. The GLA has a column mounted shifter. But thanks CP, that explanation makes sense if the Cadillac crossovers and Buicks that are front drive use one type and the rear drive Cadillac sedans use another. Although all these things are shift by wire now anyways. You knew this to begin with. It was pure trolling on your part to point it out though. Casa pretty much summed up your intentions best.

I believe the FWD 8-speed is an outsourced trans. That XT5 shifter is shared with the new Lacrosse using the same trans. Which is exactly what I'm getting at.

  9. My thoughts exactly. The black is good because it provides some much needed contrast. If it didn't have that, SMK would still find flaws with it so I'd just take that with a grain of salt anyway. Contrast is a very subjective thing. Some folks love it some hate it and some are fine with either. It is not as neutral as a solid color as most people ignore it as they just over look it and it really calls no attention to details. I would not be surprised if Cadillac at some points will add custom time to the interiors of some future models. They will let you choose from a host of options to create your own colors. Now keep in mind this would only be on the most expensive models. Also these colors here are not unlike what you would see in a Bentley GT. In fact it is a little subdued. Some of those are really contrasting and they do look great in person. If I were to complain I think the wood looks cheap in the photo on the bottom of the wheel. I expect it looks better in person as they may have airbrushed it or dulled it to get the photo. The fact that is subjective just shows that it really isn't that big of a deal except on an individual level as opposed to an overall group level. I think most people will have no problem with the color choices on the CT6.

  11. I think glasses are in your future. There is nothing wrong with the XT5 interior whatsoever.
  12. If he had 4WD, then he never used it. You see all wheels turning at some point with the Rover but only the back wheels were doing anything on the RAM. I really cannot stand jacked up trucks though. Simply pointless. Just give me a standard RAM 5.7L and I'm good to go.
  13. The XTS is on the way out and it will no more steal sales from the CTS than the S Class does from the E Class. CT6 and CTS are $10,000 apart on base price and like $6,000 apart V6 to V6 with all wheel drive. E-class to S-class is a $45,000 jump. Larger gap there. And AGAIN, a V8 is coming. Just drop it already with the "it needs a V8" non sense when it is getting one. And please stop comparing pony car buyers to luxury car buyers. That is just asinine. I am not comparing pony car buyer to luxury car buyer, but only saying both tend to be car enthusiasts. Luxury buyers like V8s, Infiniti, Genesis, K900, Lexus GS, LS, BMW 5-series and up, Jaguars, Mercedes, Audi, etc. They all have V8s, have had them for years. Cadillac made a mistake when they cancelled the Northstar replacement 5-10 years ago. Better late than never, but if Cadillac is serious, and I think they are actually, you need to bring the big guns. Yes it is. Sorry to break it to you. Just because snobby rich folks want it and buy it doesn't make it any less that fact. Rolex is the number one luxury watch seller in the world but they are also way overpriced. I only sold them for a decade or so. I'm not going to even bother with the rest of your post. That dead horse needs a break and you won't learn your lesson anyway. A $90k Tahoe isn't over priced? Cadillac prices the Escalade that way because they can and people buy it. If you have a brand image or high demand product you cash in on it. Never not once, did I say that anything else wasn't overpriced. You are grasping at straws while supporting my point. The Escalade (it is not a damn Tahoe when it has a different interior, different AND bigger engine and far more features) sells well while being overpriced for the same reasons the S-Class is overpriced. Thanks for proving that for me.
  14. And you do not know for a fact that a V8 CT6 won't beat them. And if you "know" the V8 is on the way then why do you keep whining about it not having one? Because you are trolling, that's why.
  15. Again, spot on. He is trying to lump together two different types of buyers. A Pony car guy will point out the cylinder count but I have yet to see one luxury car buyer do the same. As a matter of fact, I am willing to bet that you could slap in a top shelf V6 into an S-Class and the majority of buyers wouldn't even notice.

  17. CT6 needs a V8 because a lot of big luxury sedan buyers like a V8. Chrysler 300C buyers like V8s, Genesis G90, K900 have V8s, the 6-series, CLS and A7 offer V8s. I'd imagine a lot of buyers spending $70k might want the V8 option. Even the Camaro and Mustang have V8s, because sports car enthusiasts like them. CT6 and CTS are $10,000 apart on base price and like $6,000 apart V6 to V6 with all wheel drive. E-class to S-class is a $45,000 jump. Larger gap there. Yet do to the eco system and the required MPG, we see your beloved MB S and E are now coming with 4 and 6 bangers first and then later on with a V8. So how is this any different than Cadillac. I would be surprised if we still have V8 and bigger engines in autos in 5 to 10 years. Electric motors with small engines, the Hybrid will be the norm in the future and eventually pure electric. It is NO different but he has to have something to complain about since it is not Mercedes Benz we are talking about here. Good lord man. Again, V8 on the way and lastly, that A8L starts at near $30K higher than the CT6 and obviously the CT6 will not compete with a long wheelbase A8. Having said that, it will suck for the A8 when it does come because a CT6 with a V8 is going to severely undercut that overdressed Volkswagen. Lastly, there are a ton of new models coming between now and 2020. You have been told this before as well so I don't know what you keep on beating a dead horse here. Good grief Charlie Brown.
  18. So since you admit that it does not compete with the S Class, then why does it need a V8 now (I say "now" because a V8 is on the way, as you have been told many times here)? The XTS is on the way out and it will no more steal sales from the CTS than the S Class does from the E Class. E-class to S-class is a $45,000 jump. Larger gap there. That is because the S Class too high to begin with and that does not mean an only $10K gap is going to be a big deal. There is only a $13K gap between the C-Class and E-Class. How many sales are being robbed there? And AGAIN, a V8 is coming. Just drop it already with the "it needs a V8" non sense when it is getting one. And please stop comparing pony car buyers to luxury car buyers. That is just asinine.

  20. That Dodge is not 4 wheel drive. Never saw anything but the one rear wheel ever move. Either that, or the driver is the biggest 4 wheel driving idiot on the planet. Both rear wheels were spining at one point( Around 44 seconds you can see the far sided one) but either way I never saw a front tire spinning so it had to be 2WD. Yea, it looks to me that you have a 4x4 defender up against a 2wd ram. Put a 4x4 ram against the defender and I doubt the defender would budge. My thoughts exactly. 2WD vs. 4WD is always only going to go one way. Which only proves they don't know jack about trucks and 4WD. Sounds like the majority of pick up drivers here in Phoenix. All jacked up with no place to go.

  22. Wonder how it compares to a rental Fusion. Seriously though, I think the Malibu will surprise a lot of folks once they test drive it. It is markedly improved over the last one. It's not even debatable.
  23. Me narrow minded? Seriously? Might I interest you in a mirror so that you can see how wrong you are? Please, you clearly have not moved on or you wouldn't still be talking about it.
  24. Actually, you didn't answer. You got sore about it because someone doesn't like Toyota. There's a difference. Which, for the last time, has ZERO to with balthazar looking for a cheap CUV/SUV. Oh and you did sound like a hypocrite. Sorry.
