  1. Of course this is the best. I am asking a particular question of Envision vs RDX. Chinese manufacturing jobs and US corporate profit vs American manufacturing and Japan's corporate profit. Anyone else would like to share an opinion? @balthazar @Drew Dowdell @ocnblu @A Horse With No Name @Robert Hall @ccap41 @surreal1272 @daves87rs anyone else?
  2. Personally, I could care less about corporate taxes. I think good paying US manufacturing jobs support US economy much more than corporate taxes, which each company tries to pay as little as possible (and I am sure GM is using every loophole possible).
  3. My question to the "patriots" on this forum, which is preferable: The Envision is build in China, so buying it you are supporting Chinese workers but profits go to GM in US. Or Acura RDX is built in Ohio, so by buying it you will support thousands of American jobs in US but the profits will go to Japan.

  5. Real enthusiasts still value the fun factor of manual transmission! 70% of Porsche 911 GT3 Buyers In the US Bought the Manual Transmission 70% of Porsche 911 GT3 Buyers In the US Bought the Manual Transmission (thedrive.com) The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been one of the brand's most fun-to-drive track day specials, and for many drivers, there is no substitute for a manual transmission. Porsche's decision to put a manual transmission back into the 911 GT3 paid off far more than the brand expected, especially in the United States, where the take rate for the last-generation manual GT3 was 70%. While many armchair stats-fiends love to argue that the double-clutch gearbox is faster, the 911 GT3's six-speed manual is simply more fun to a lot of people who don't mind losing that fraction of a second at every corner on track. (You can't win the track day, Dickie Speedmaster.)
  6. I like the looks a lot. Hopefully will be priced well.
  7. For that kind of money it should have real silver flakes in it.
  8. I am not crazy about funky headlights and the look of the front, but I like everything else about R1S so far. I would love to have daily that would be efficient and will have real off-road capability, but $70k is a lot of money. Hopefully there will be smaller off-road capable EV that will be priced more reasonably.
  9. Boy you like exaggerating! Plenty of Teslas where I live and I yet to see one "broken down" on a side of the road. Not that they don't have quality issues, but to be fair it is not like Ford is famous for it super high quality. They botched their last couple new car releases pretty badly.
  10. Boy, it is ugly! At least it will have modern amenities for the postal workers and Oshkosh is a good company. If you squint hard enough it will be like you almost driving this:
  11. Yes, I noticed that too. Strange, I didn't hear any particular issues with them, I wonder what is happening. I guess no big surprises with the rest of the brands.
  12. 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) | J.D. Power The study, now in its 32nd year, measures the number of problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) experienced during the past 12 months by original owners of three-year-old vehicles. A lower score reflects higher dependability, and the study covers 177 specific problems grouped into eight major vehicle categories: audio/communication/entertainment/navigation (ACEN); engine/transmission; exterior; interior; features/controls/displays (FCD); driving experience; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; and seats. Vehicle dependability is at an all-time high, with the overall level of problems cited by owners declining 10% from a year ago, according to the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vehicle Dependability StudySM (VDS), released today.

The front driver gets a Four Star rating, but the front passenger only earns a Two Star rating. The overall front rating is only a Three Star one, too. 2021 Nissan Rogue Gets Troubling NHTSA Crash Rating (motortrend.com)

  17. I think it looks much better than the previous generation. Personally, CVT is the definite no for me. Probably, it will do good compared to the other crossovers in the segment though. How the hell Bolt got dragged into the conversation. It is not even in the same segment.
  18. My in-laws live in Woodbridge, they also got power back within 1 day. They usually don't loose power much either. Woodbridge is on a major road intersection, Route 1, 287, Turnpike, GSP, so maybe that's why.
  19. @Drew Dowdell You are right about de-icing equipment on wind mills, I should have read up on it, it doesn't happen in northern states or northern countries in Europe. In regards to federal regulations, I am not sure how well they work. Every freaking snow storm we have power interruptions because of downed trees, Power companies don't want to spend money either burying the lines or at least trimming the trees around power lines. They blame townships or state but I call bs on that. It is all about them not spending the money. How is that different? This Christmas we were almost three days without power.
  20. Are we going to discuss the current situation in Texas? Their renewable energy supplies over 20% of the state energy and now almost all the wind farms are down and frozen. Granted they have plenty of other issues, their grid is not prepared for cold weather and they even had issues with natural gas supply, which is their primary source of electricity. Renewable is second. Still, the fact that big storm can shut down wind farms is a serious concern, especially here in Northeast, where winter ice storms are common.
  21. I think Bolt EV is completely redundant. EUV slightly bigger and seems besides the extra size they are completely identical, price is not much different either. Weird how GM does certain things.
  22. I don't think being aggressive driver and caring about your car are same things. Also, living in big cities with very limited parking and a lot of congestion will put scuffs and dings on your car no matter how careful you are. I haven't seen one big city where cars didn't look like they just came out of demolition derby.
  23. NJ is nothing compared to NYC drivers And from my travel I have to say that MA drivers are not better than NJ.
