GM News: More Downtime Comes To GM's Lordstown Plant
daves87rs replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
While it does not need to drop to cavalier/cobalt prices, a drop is really needed. They have cheap leases, which will help, but it's going to dump a bunch back in a few years driving down value to cavalier like levels. Time to throw some cash on the hood and get it back under 20 grand for a start.... -
Sales: Sales Figure Ticker: January 2017
daves87rs replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
I get the feeling it has more to do with what is going on rather the the cars themselves... I expect if things keep getting crazier out there, sales are going to dive based on fear. A few local dealerships are cutting staff around here already...many are afraid to put money out at the moment....- 21 replies

Toyota News: Toyota To Cease Australian Manufacturing On October 3rd

Kinda sad watching it all go like this... -
I almost agree with this.....but we have quite far already-might be time to slow it down for a while. There will still be improvements, but let's let the tech out there become a bit more common- and she how well it holds up long term. I see plenty of turbo'd cars out there....but the engines require a bit more care than a regular one. I've seen quite a few abused Cruzes already, for example.....

Current Equinox--anyone have experience with one?
daves87rs replied to Robert Hall's topic in The Lounge
Well, I'm not worked up about it! I need to add a new car to our old fleet, and I have been considering the good deal (Cruze) or finally get the "trucklet" I've wanted to get for years. I could use a Nox/Escape for family, big stuff and going camping...... Even with the slow 4 banger ecotec, I like the Nox-always liked the look...like the one better though! I can do without the 6, simply because I don't need it for what I would do anyways... Ditto with the new Escape. Not sure about getting a used Nox, as they tend to have nasty rust issues on the doors thanks to the design they are using...once looked at a 12' Nox, and it had most rust under the doors than my 11 year old Cobalt.....So if I got a Nox, good chance it won't do salt..... Jeep is leasing the daylights out of the old Compass/Patriot, but the buyouts made me laugh.... -
Snow, and more snow....

daves87rs replied to Robert Hall's topic in The Lounge
I'm between of Nox and an Escape myself... With the Nox Leases will be cheap, and I know the engine very well. Wondering what the buyout will be on one.... Escapes are nice...new one looks good! Discounts are much better, and I'm betting I could get an Escape S at a pretty good price... -
I'm sorry...know a friend who went though that...between 4 kids-it was a living hell for 2 years.. His family is all torn up from it....

Still like old school clean look.....

At first I was angry, but then I realized the problems GM is having with canada's unions. Many issues at hand. Though I think Mexico was not the answer. Back to the US would have been a smarter choice. I get the feeling GM is going to get burned by doing this...and more than just Trump too...
