  1. That some of you people dare call yourselves Americans, or Patriotic for that matter, while condoning torture, and showing a willingness to abandon the principles and ideals that our country was founded on shocks and disgusts me. Condoning those actions makes us as evil as the terrorists we so want to crush. Think a about that for a moment. On that note if this doesn't get back on topic I will lock it.
  2. I love how the same people who bitch about socialism and standing for America think it's ok to disregard our most important ideals. That's called hypocrisy guys, and it disgusts me.
  3. Known about this for a while now. Chrysler needs to offer something in this segment, and a Durango more along the size of the original is definitely a wise decision. Now get to work on Project D and those small cars...and my 200C.
  4. It's a real bitch when it slumps, the government really should get in there and get it back up.
  5. The cash burn rate through 2008 at General Motors, Chrysler and, to a lesser degree, Ford, has been one of the big new stories in the auto business. After a disastrous third quarter, GM was down to about $11 billion and, along with Chrysler, was in danger of having insufficient cash on hand to pay bills at the end of the year. Meanwhile, Toyota has been raking in the profits for ages now and was thought to have up to $90 billion in reserves as recently as a couple of years ago. The other day, however, John McElroy reported that Toyota may be down to only $18.5 billion in cash with rapidly spiraling debts. The company has spent heavily on new factories and new products in the U.S. in recent years, but saw its sales plummet as much as the domestics in the second half of 2008. Its total current short-term liabilities are now roughly equal to its total current assets, and its cash reserves put the company on par with Ford. In recent months, Toyota has been moving aggressively to cut costs and budgets have been slashed company wide. The automaker famous for avoiding layoffs was also reportedly considering shedding some jobs in the U.S. and UK, but had denied those reports are true. 6. By the way, thanks for the kind offer ZL-1. Honestly, I'm at the point where I don't even know how I feel. I'm saddened but somehow it doesn't feel like it's really set in yet.
  7. Giving people a fair trial and not torturing them are things that separates us from them. It's a big part of what makes us better than them. If we give that up then how are we better? You guys should try looking p the founding principles of this country.
  8. Damn typos...I just realized I put 8000 and not 800...it was 800 just to clear it up.
  9. I'm glad he closed Guantanamo Bay and prisons like it. Torturing prisoners regardless of what they have done goes against everything this country stands for. If you think it's ok maybe you should move to China, where I bet they don't hold the same standards we do for prisoners.
  10. Regrettably I guess I'll never get the chance. I got a call from Florida, which I could only assume was relating to her in some way earlier, but when I picked up their was no answer. When I tried calling back it said the number was not in service. Then I found out from my father that she passed away. He was planning to fly to FL to be with her tomorrow, but didn't get the chance. It really sucks, apparently the only member of my family who actually got to be there was my Uncle, I guess someone was there at least. I really wish so much of my family didn't live in Florida. R.I.P Frederica Currie, you will be missed. Hopefully she is in a better place now.
  11. I don't mind the idea of higher standards, but it should be one higher standard, not 50, as someone has said. The other problem is that the automakers are trying to stay alive as it is. If the government is planning to fund them even more money than the $25 billion they were promised and help them achieve it like Japan does for its automakers then fine.
  12. The last Town Car.
  13. Also, in another bit of news, it seems I won't get to see her. She was planning to move back to Connecticut and remain there in the apartment my uncle had built for her years ago (she spent winters in Florida and summers in Connecticut. Well, she wasn't able to move back up here.
  14. I hope the government plans to fund..er...bailout the mess they will make Otherwise the bailout money the automakers got will have been for not, they'll go under, and it will never be paid back.
  15. This is really hard for me... A few months ago my Grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. The doctors told her she had about six months to live. When I last spoke with her around the end of December she told me she was undergoing chemotherapy and that it was helping. Today I was up early and got a message from my father that she had taken a turn for the worse and was very sick, and probably doesn't have long to live. I'm not sure what to do or say...I want to call her but I don't know what to say. There hasn't been a death in my family (who I knew) since my Grandfather passed away when I was around 5, so I have no idea how to deal with it. I guess I'm looking for advice? I don't know...I just feel compelled to post this and tell someone.
  16. From edmunds: In `02 they added a four speed and features...dunno about the noise issue. You claim allpar is bias...yet every post you seem to make relating to Chrysler is negative that I recall.
  17. "Congress approves bailout of the Porn Industry, but demands "proof" that the money is being put to good use."
  18. So I guess this is going to be a 3 post thread. f@#k it.
  19. I would finish the one you have first.
  20. Well the original argument was that the 200C took the styling cues of the Nassau and evolved them. The 200C is its own design but takes cues from the Nassasu. You saying you see he similarities proves that point.
  21. No, I haven't been wondering. I was hoping Palin had dropped off the face of the Earth, and Bush would choke on another pretzel. I don't really care about McCain, he's probably got enough shame to live with for selling himself out and still loosing.
