  1. A-HA, I thought as much. And if I'm reading the above correctly, the '23%' is those who have had their cancellations processed; the true number is obviously higher. I would seriously not be surprised if the eventual cancellation rate approached 40%. It takes a very unique nutball to wait 3 or more years to get their order filled - that's insane.
  2. Weight is just like platforms; consumers have no idea if a car weighs 3700 lbs or 4200. With all the plastics, aluminum & thinned materials in modern cars, you'd think a -say- '18 Challenger should weight 3200 lbs. Weight has gotten out of control, but at least there have been some very recent efforts slimming vehicles down.
  3. Looked at the 30-ish pics. Question: is that enough quantity of photos to fairly declare Hong Kong as officially being a dump?
  4. Not sure what the official definition of 'mid' would be, perhaps '04-06, but that still puts me on the low side at 2004.
  5. My truck is getting seriously old when ALL the lawn guys have newer rides.
  6. But the renegade is only 167"- the same exact size as the 'lifted' fiat 500X. Anything smaller is nutso.
  7. • Despite the continued uptick in CUV sales, Jeep is over-extending by the above chart. Doubling the lineup (from 6 to 11) in 3 years is too ambitious. IMO, a Jeep smaller than the Renegade is not going to pay off in sales, either. • Showing how much I pay attention to mid-size trucks, I don't think I was aware the Dakota has been dead since 2012... but I assume the proposed future mid-size in the re-entry into that segment. Dodge lost a bunch of sales during all these years there. • Alfa, fiat & maserati should just get shut down. Dump all that money into Dodge & Ram.
  8. If taxation represents declining quality of life, we've been circling the drain for decades.
  9. Hard to see how jaguar keeps it's head above water. A 24% decrease is rough!
  10. '60 Eldo Seville; I just LOVE this year/model ~
  11. Style I generally like, tho if it spent a few moments under the pen of a domestic studio it would come out more finished. Sits a bit high, could use a front bumper & more shrouding of the front wheels. I've advocated for a 'minimalist car' on this board in the past; I DO think something like this has a market out there. Would be interesting with a Sonic 1.4T in it!
  12. 300-G's story : http://autoweek.com/article/car-life/homecoming-2900-miles-dead-winter
  13. When someone gushes about a -say- G8 or M5 sedan (represented stylistically in the below pic by the white Caprice), my mind's eye gazes afar and pictures something like the red '61 Chrysler 300-G.
  14. It's not about heads-up racing, it's which car posts the faster time. P100D has just slipped below 10.5, Demon has run numerous in the upper 9s. I thought I read one time of 9.6. .8 of a second is EIGHT car lengths at the traps- a blowout.
  15. A Solstice GXP coupe would be very interesting...
  16. The fastest (slightly modified) P100D went 10.4 in the quarter a few months ago. It is Tesla who has not beaten a Demon, not the other way around. Reel in your laughter. Did you mean to say 'only 48% were IC'?
  17. Poked around, because something about this felt counter intuitive. Found a 2014 Viper Owners Assoc. forum poll of how old Viper owners were at their first purchase. While not necessarily empirical, the 157 people who responded had an average buyer age of 34 years old. In fact, 49 respondents were in their 20s. Viper is not a car for middle-aged cruisers, it's too unpolished & challenging.
  18. ^ Interesting observation. I have a 'visual filter' that mostly precludes me noticing '80s and up vehicles, but I would concur on that here; can't recall the last Cougarbird of that era I've noticed.
  19. '68-69 GTOs were all 400 CI. It gained the 455 in '70 (that motor's first year). No GTO 350 until either '73 or the 350-only '74.
  20. First year or 2 the Seville has FI issues but I believe they took some time to manifest. Cadillac addressed it pretty quickly to my recollection, and the available FI on the 500 I never heard a whisper of trouble regarding. My grandmother had a pre-owned '76 and she had issues with it running erratically upon occasion. It may have stranded her a time or two. She traded it on an early '80s Regal 2-dr.
