  1. so what does a shareholder have to do, to get a closer look at the financials... how can you have a revenue of 38 billion dollars and not have any room for extra items? where could it all possibly go? okay so the revenue isnt 42 like it has been recently... but still... when you deal with that kind of money, you'd think there would be a lot of fat to cut off... i want to see a more indepth budget report then the lowsy financial balance sheet they give once a quarter
  2. being a part of this board, and a part of camaroz28 for many years now... i still dont know what is so special about hard tops... or even how to identify them if there is anything to be enthusiastic about, it wouldnt just be the carnuts that would buy it... if its different people will buy it... America needs a new start up car company... and show the big guys how to make and sell cars the public wants... being GM, and selling a car for everyone, has been very hard to see these days...
  3. sooo... this thing cannot arrive soon enough, when is it due?
  4. so whats the point in restyling a vehicle that gm doesnt sell in this region? why give it new sheetmetal? i dont even know what the insignia looks like, im just saying... ship it over here and sell it... quit with the it'll be here in 3 years additude. put a damn rocket emblem and call it done with
  5. hrmm didnt know buick has been on the deathwish list for so long... I appologize for siting birkshire or warren as a success over merril lynch, but... i guess he doesnt have to buy and sell when the mutual funds or hedge funds do. i guess i've been reading to much benjamin graham and warren buffett recently... lol... back to my book...
  6. umm the correlation... im not sure if its still true but lynch has someone on GM's board... one day lynch says bankruptcy isnt impossible for GM, a week later, they say GM has investment grade bonds, and they posted some pretty terrible losses... and why would you want to take advice, investment recomendations from a company that cant even profit themselves... granted its a terrible market... but... berkshire is still going strong except for a few of its assets...
  7. I dont know who is worse... the guy that allowed GM to float on bad vehciles, or is destroying GM by taking away its volume... GM can sell much more then it is... it can be the discount automaker again... it can return the market place to its annual sales and reap the benifits... but rather it would idle plants? close them down...? there are advantages to making things more efficent... but they are taking away the volume so the advantages are wasted and the money spent to take those advantages are wasted too... you cant squeeze the company on two fronts at once and expect things to go well
  8. i guess they continue to suprise me with one time transactions...
  9. lol... haha well if u look at my signature, you'll notice, that someone said pontiac will be dead in 5 years, and you said: lol anything is possible in the business world... the collapse of enron was a suprise to most, and it looked handsome until it did... and many other companies are drug through the mud when they have every fighting chance to survive. i guess its like my pltn sgt says... if you have everything 'tight and right' nobody looks closely, aka toyota, but as soon as things start to slip or slide, you get every weazel trying to figure out your flaws...
  10. i really am confused sometimes by gm's finacial statements... they never show any kind of consistancy... okay so GMAC said they had a loss of 2.6 billion today... so GM gets to take 1.3 against whatever they got on opperational side... but if you look at 3rd quarter of last year GM had 6 billion in profit from operational... but a 6 billion dollar loss from rescap. so... then other quarters gm's shows strong points in finance, and weak in operations... its mind boggling... with the strike supposidly costing GM 2 billion, i think that was already seen in the 1st quarter, they should have made up for some of production lost in the first quarter, providing a decent revenue... so that should look good... umm other then that, i see no reason why GM cant be posting profits... they didnt have any one time expenses this quarter besides the 200 million to american axel... that im familiar with, they didnt sell any assets that would post a loss in the investing cash... other then GMAC's 2.6 billion and the strike, i see no reason to have terrible financials... i think they should be good...
  11. so i guess saying phrases like "GM bankrupsy not impossible" is not an acceptable rumor to start, along with other companies they slammed
  12. so is this good news or bad news, i know even though some people have good resume's or have had a many major accomplishments does not mean they are able to adapt to a changing industry... Who will replace him, and is he qualified to bring additional sales to GM?
  13. well i think it needs to be done if you look at japan, im not sure when it happened but japan didnt help its banks, when they were in need and forclosures forced home prices fell to 50% of their value and stayed that way for 20 years... it is necessary... it was an unneccessary risk that lenders choose... the intentions were somewhat good, i mean as long as home prices increase, it really doesnt matter if they make good on the loan, the home will pay for the price difference, and the investors win!... but if the subprime was given to far too many for the housing boom to continue... home prices needed to fall in certain areas like southern California... where the average home was over 500k, and the average income was below 35k... you cannot make that work. but my family continues to purchase real estate in the so-cal area, and continues to watch their nest egg grow.
  14. hrmm that wasnt there when i looked last time... all it said was the confrence call for julys sales... ohh well... thanks for the info, will be looking forward to it... estimates so far are around 1.6 billion loss, hopefully they are better then that...

i doubt the gas crissis will affect the corvette they already get better fuel ecconomy almost all sports cars...
  16. not exactly sure if things have changed, but employee discount reduces the selling price of the vehicle below invoice by like $500... that does not include any sort of incentives that are currently going on, so whatever rebates are currently being issued, you'd be entitled to those as well... but i guess the catch is, you've got to know an employee...
  17. does anyone know when the financial reports are due?
  18. maybe sucked 1 billion dollars up, to shut them down... the price of downsizing is tremendous, the price of education (r&d) is expensive, ignorance is worse...
  19. wow, i didnt know GM pulled my video to put on their GMblog... awesome lol fyi.gmblogs.com/2006/11/friday_dec_1_1.html
  20. so i'm wondering how popular everyone is... and how much these search engines actually search... I've been under newbiewar for over 10 years now, so i decided to search myself... Google 4310 results Yahoo 8360 results MSN 631 results i was frightened at how some of these went back... found a mess i started back on priusonline.com in 2006, found some really old 2pac fan pages from like 8-9 years ago... of course cheers and gears, and youtube was the major cause for my results... i think my videos are on every language video posting sites possible... yikes, i noticed i'm up to 1.25 million views on one of my youtube videos....
  21. any year you make money, dividends, or intrest... or loss money for that matter... everyone should do one with their savings accounts with their banks... but most rarely make enough for the govn to care...
  22. the dealership will be able to get you a loan, or you can always goto wells fargo or whomever... i say wells fargo, because i think they like to give leases out...
  23. i agree, i doubt anything negative will come of it... banks really dont care what other banks think residual values are... they use their own info or a thirdparty such as KBB... from cerberus's point of view, it removes variables in return... makes profit more certain. nothing but a smart decision that will not hurt the consumer.
  24. well if u sell the dodge, it looses its lifetime warranty.. so that makes it much less valueable... everyone said it would decrease resale value to have a lifetime warranty that wasnt transferable, now they arent leasing there vehicles... omg... combine that with a credit crunch and a housing crisis, and high fuel prices... and the sky is falling
  25. im currious as to what you usually get tho... my 8100 gets 10-12 mpg... i've actually seen my best fuel ecconomy while towing over the rockies... lol sounds weird... but driving the freeways in LA, i usually got 11-12 mpg empty, towing my firebird & crap in the back, i got 14 mpg (85mph going from LA to El Paso using the 10) my wifes civic couldnt keep up with me, she had to keep throwing it in 4th to catch up to me... i've been wanting to throw headers exhaust and intake to try to reduce fuel consumption... as i only get about 10mpg around base... max speed is 30-35...
