  1. I used to have sharebuilder, very upset with them, perhaps they are better since they were purchased... but there limit selling or buying was a much higher price, if i recall... do it with who you want, i use usaa, and they only work with military... very happy with the services they provide to me. Sharebuilder doesnt know how to do 1099's for tax purposes, so be forwarned... you will need to do your own...
  2. I still wouldnt be supprised if cerberus combined the two, GMAC and Chrysler Financial. Sold it back to GM... Build their own Financing for Chrysler. its worth money to split chysler up, but it would be easy to start a new one because of the customer base... to me seems like a decent idea... i need to look at cerberus, see what kind of investor they are... a buy and sell or buy and hold... weather they are like Buffett or like Kirkorian... Buffett style investing will grow the biggest but Kirk's way will show major gains faster
  3. plz dont use sharebuilder... quite possibly the worst brokerage company i know they dont even have good prices
  4. ive got about 1225 of gm's... plan to buy another 1000 or so in a couple weeks
  5. ohh ohh, do i win! my mileage is 1.5 mpg... can anyone beat that? well besides the tires being a little bigger and better tread, that is my basic truck...
  6. ahh shouldnt be too bad, the lease programs always have to have a competative edge over a purchase, so... it wont be that bad, i never sold a lease to GMAC while i was at the dealership for a year...
  7. u can get a lease from a different company... this is nothing that will affect consumers... except there wont be lease incentives... no promotional rates, at least nationwide... dealers can work with their prospective banks to establish promotional rates... most leases are from other banks anyway...
  8. well with pontiac having Solstice, g8, (next gen) g6, and an alfa... i can see how they can survive... the alfa and G6 should be able to pull in 100k + per year, hopefully more along the lines of 175K, and the g8 can do 45k and the solstice some 20k... gives pontiac plenty to sell without the overhead of its own dealership... buick needs something similar, a lucerne replacement, a lacross replacement, and a coupe and it would do fine as well, obviously not in number of sales, but by profit and price point...
  9. hrmmm i've got a 01 3500 with the 8.1... great truck, dually... 2wd... i really like it... only problem i had with it was a crank possition sensor, which left me stranded... but got it fixed in a day, and cost me a couple hundred bucks or so... i've got some major front suspension problems that were probably caused by the previous owner, so i go through front tires really fast... but... i dont feel like fixing it... maybe when i come home from kuwait... ive heard some problems with certain allyson transmissions, but my experiance has been excelent... if you hear the twirling(whisling) sound with the allison, its normal...

    Iran...

If Obama will pull the troups out 2 battalions a month, we'll still be here for quite some time... whats a batallion maybe 1k soldiers? and there are 120-160k of us here? Send me home! lol... no reason rotations cant be 6 months or 12 months... but being here for 15 is too long, too much of a strain...
  11. I'm not sure... I want to keep buying, but my feet are getting cold... i guess we'll keep holding and keep buying, i really cant forsee this staying down this low, but if the entire banking industry collapses... perhaps GMAC is the reason for fears... Rescap being the second largest morgage lender in the united states, could tumble just as countrywide did I'm not sure if this is good or bad... but apparently this was news from the 9th? just a few days ago "NEW YORK (Reuters) - Residential Capital LLC, the mortgage lending arm of GMAC LLC, said on Wednesday a GMAC affiliate has agreed to acquire its resort finance business. ResCap said it received an initial $250 million deposit from GMAC Commercial Finance, representing the estimated net proceeds for the business, which finances vacation resorts. It said the fair value of the business will be determined by a third party. The transaction is expected to close on July 30. The money-losing lender has been struggling to pay its debts, and last month GMAC arranged a $60 billion refinancing for the company. Private equity firm Cerberus Capital Management LP CBS.UL in 2006 led a group that bought 51 percent of GMAC from General Motors Corp (GM.N: Quote, Profile, Research). The automaker owns the remaining 49 percent"

    Iran...

ohh this is untrue! there was a picture that was found in the news a few days ago... a picture dated before the war started of the united states moving iraqi uranium around some 550 metric tons... but the problem was, iran was going to invade iraq, and saddam wanted to sound powerful so he told insiders that he had weapons... this did two things, made iran back down because if we are strong against the united states, they must be strong enough to defend against iran... but saddam before he died announced he never imagine bush to attack as he did... he was assuming a clinton style air strike for a few days, and that was it... so it was okay to accept that a few things get blown up to sound strong against iran... well some 5 years later, iran still wants violence... you are probably right about the bush administration, as he is connected with oil and the vice president is tied financially with contractors involved with the war... so both have made themselves very profitable as president... ohh well... all im saying is if iran goes balistic, i will probably end up dead, due to the nature of my job

    Iran...

i dont really care if you agree... i told you my job here in kuwait... is to baby sit iran... if irans missiles hit their targets, the blame would be in my chain of command... nothing on earth can out run our guided missles
  16. yea if i remember correctly those forrest fires were caused by rain storms & lightning... damn those hot temperatures!

    Iran...

yea it'll be messy, i dont necessarily care about the drama of isreal, im just concerned of iran and its violent nature... thats the only reason im here in kuwait, is to baby sit iran... and what do you do, when that 2-3 year old grabs a butcher knife and starts running at his baby sitter?

    Iran...

So i dont know whom else i can talk about this with, so i figure, this is the lounge and anything goes... and since im not affiliated with any political or military boards... this one might give an interesting perspective... so i'm sure most people have heard a little of the frustrations with Iran, and Isreal... and that Isreal wants to bomb Iran Nuclear facilities, and the US and G8 want to stop Iran's Uranium enrichment program... today Iran fired off 9 TBM's(tactical ballistic missles) some long range, some short range, one that was new, that had the capacity of holding a 1 ton warhead. not sure if that was a long or short range missle... I'm sure i'll know in a few days... but nothing i have written here, is confidential and can be found at almost any news source... anywho, i bring this up, because I'd like to see peoples reaction to this... many i have talked to, said who cares what they do... and others have said that they beleive they ought to be stopped... next thing i was rather upset about, is obama and mcCain started discussing their opinions and what they'd do... Obama, seems to hide behind the term "Diplomacy" which could mean everything from sending letters to nuclear warfare. and McCain had mentioned that Europe needed a anti-missle system to defend itself... (well accept the fact, Kuwait is in Asia and other countries surrounding Iran, there is already an anti missile system in place, so to me sounds like he is unfamiliar with what is already going on... not so good for a supposide commander in cheif) also, McCain jokes about "killing them with cigarettes"... to me this statement is very, not racist but, something unorthadox, so far the discussions arent about killing anyone, and thats not the goal... the goal is to make peace with them, and prevent weapons of mass discruction to end up in unsafe hands. To me it seems that statement is very trigger happy... okay... any thoughts?
  19. well the problem with things like global warming, or climate changes, they happen with or without humans existance, and weather or not we have accelorated or decellorated the process is yet to be determined... global warming is a billion dollar buisness and the words of politians or scientists are backed by profit not by solid proof... it has been analyzed since 1850, and in which global temperatures have raised around 1-2* according to the most recent article that i have read... yet, when you think the last ice age was in the late 1700's durring our independance war, of course temperatures are going to rise from an ice age, but you will actually find that global warming encourages ice ages... its a stupid cycle, but as things heat up, the atmosphere fills with clouds & moisture, and eventually the effects of the sun are canceled by a thick layer of water vapor, eventaully the temperature drops, dramatically, and all the water that was retained in the atmosphere falls and it takes many years before the sun can heat the temperatures back up from a non frozen state... that is why we are noticing hotter summers and colder winters, they said that this year the polor caps might completely melt, well if anyone remembered this past winter, they said they were the biggest they'd been for some couple decades... like i said, take everything you read with a grain of salt, if you were an enviornmentalist, and collectively in america it profited a billion plus dollars annually and over 5 billion in countries like england... you'd realize not everything that is said is 100% accurate.
  20. good news is, a vehicle like the prius will lose a lot of sales over such a sticker... it will hurt any vehicle with a large battery in it... and cali is the number one place toyota does business if i remember correctly... this could be a good thing or a bad thing who knows... it doesnt really favor any one automaker, except might help with GM if they truely dont have land fills anymore and they have started using solar power as they had said they were going to...
  21. thats my rick wagonner... always under promise and over deliver... its good to shock investors, it'll be hard to do, effectively but as it hits the news, people should be highly impressed, the camaro will be out soon too... the faster they can create additional revenue, the faster they can get people thinking they need loans... and the less they need loans the easier credit will be and a snowball effect occurs in a possitive way...
  22. just because toyota and others have a headquarters in orange county/long beach area... not totally sure but i know where the building is, doesnt mean that the part content (the majority of the expense of a vehicle) is not outsourced. assembling a vehicle costs a few hundred dollars minus the initial overhead of the factory. the parts amount to a great expense, that is why they are outsourced... if assembly was expensive that would be outsourced too... ohh well... its not worth arguing about cause we cant change peoples minds...
  23. umm last time i looked it was around 54%... if thats what your refering to, i wasnt trying to be exact, but then again it may have changed more recently...
  24. you know what i hate about being in a dry country... and by dry i mean acohol free, trust me i hate the fact i go outside and the sky is the same color as the ground... its not drinking beer, cause thats not my thing, but i could go for some liquor... And spending my birthday, with some esteemed company, haha besides my immediate family, and cheers and gears, i was not wished a happy birthday by any of my peers, when the majority of the deployment so far, there has been a moment to recognize everyones birthday or special event in front of everyone. but spending my birthday, in a 120+ degree weather, in a combat zone, away from my wife, my dogs, my truck... and now its the 4th of july, and i still dont feel independant or like a free man, actually there was no celebration here, there was no fireworks... i was disapointed... you guys are best...
  25. ["It is now clear that … is unbearable for the current workforce," said Luc Van Grinsven, chief representative of ACV-Metaal, the Belgian trade union.] that suggests to me, they will soon look for a more willing workforce...
