  1. does this mean we will see more dsl cars?
  2. why would kirk do this the day before financial earnings? he should have known what they were prior to their release...
  3. Ohh... great, so Chrysler was aided by the government in 1979... but did it accually help Chrysler? did that 1.5 billion accually help them to be better? because look at them now? I think, America should endorse American workers, make Globalism frowned upon... What would it do if one the consumer was taxed for purchasing a vehicle not made in the USA (now i know mexico and canada make a lot of GM and Ford Vehicles so it wouldnt really help) and perhaps that tax can be applied for the US government to bail out retiries, making the Legacy cost dissapear... As seen by the new autoshows GM and Ford are again becoming innovative, but will their new products come soon enough before they are in too much financial troubles? Our Government must get more involved with its companys. Many American companys are fleeting to other countrys for cheaper work and importing... importing is terrible for the american ecconomy... Comon... Here is a nice article regaurding trade practices of the Japanese, its very intresting. I didnt get a chance to read it all, but it was very enlightening...
  4. already posted that...
  5. here... they'll have 2 versions of the 6.0 for the suburban, and one version for the avalanche and maybe in the tahoe... I'm pretty sure cadillac is getting the 6.2... but chevy is getting a 6.0 1.) Vortec 6000 V8 SFI Engine with VVT and Active fuel Managment (L76) combines best-in-class horsepower along with fantastic fuel efficency. (estimated) 354 hp & 375 torque Alluminum block Avalible on 1/2 ton Subs and Avalanches 2.) Heavy Duty Vortec 6000 V8 SFI Engine (LY6) Delivers the power needed to haul the heaveiest cargo and trailers (estimated) 350 hp and 370 torque standard on 3/4 ton suburban the 6.2 i think has 400 hp...
  6. a stripper lease, i want no power windows or anyhting...
  7. yea i've seen a picture off of a projector(the orange one that is floating around here... but i saw it about 40 feet long )... the hood looks different but it was just a side profile... if you want a good look at it... look at the cadillac's page and look at the escalade version...the avalanche will have an avalible 6.0 alluminum engine with vvt and it'll have active fuel management... (GM doesnt want to talk about DOD anymore its being refered to the olds too much... so GM has changed the name) The 2007 will not offer a 6 speed transmission...
  8. yea its completely seemless... now we'll see after 60k miles... but as far as i could tell its the same... even if you watch the dash the dash is delayed... so when you think its switched it already did... you could probably notice the exhaust... that makes sense...
  9. ... i think this is good publication... saturn is positioning themselves as the green hand of GM... My very first week at my dealership i asked my boss if we ever had blood drives to drive in additional customers, he laughed... and thought about it... said its a different idea, but i never heard anything more... i know i need to give blood now... but... where to go?
  10. we've got both...the ltz's come standard with the rear seat being a 2 seater... but we've got probably 2/3's of them as 3 seaters... and its up to about 80 units in inventory... our GM product knowledge guy who works for a supplier of GM, who was seperated from GM a few years back, said that Subs are due in april (we all knew that) Avalanches in August or September, and Trucks in September (sooner then i've been aware) He also said GM plans to have the camaro as an 08 year model...
  11. umm its in the information center... you have to get to the screen where it gives your instant fuel ecconomy... and it'll tell you V4 or V8... it switches back a lot accually... i think as long as its going over 25 it'll switch to V4 mode... cruising on the freeway it says it gets high 20's... and then it'll bounce to the V4 mode and then its can go as high as 99 mpg...
  12. haha my profile is back to the amount i put in and that includes googles major explosion
  13. Actually, the Mercedes car was named after the daughter of a client of a Mr. Deimler. and if i remember correctly he admired the girl because she was so beautiful and wanted everyone to remember her because she was so beautiful
  14. most people at my dealership tend to say it has less pickup... but i think its the difference between the lt1 and ls1... the lt1 seems way faster but the ls1 is so much smoother throughout the powerband... and i think its the same way here... its got a smoother powerband and not such a torque horse off the line....
  15. heres another article
  16. saab is just a brand name... it holds more value to GM then anyone else, because saab has no assets... they have nothing worth any money, so if GM is going to sell it they couldnt get a damn penny for it, but the name... soo
  17. the cobalt SS has the imput for ipods i think...
  18. if it works, GM get out the checkbook... if its fake, GM call congress....
  19. No discounts... had to talk the desk into doing a family deal... but no discounts... those that discount them are hurting GM very badly... Prices must be firm... some people say the engine pickup is a little weaker then the old 5.3... they say it doesnt get up to speed as quickly... with 320 hp what else could you ask for... the suspension is much better, much stiffer ride and chassis... handles very smoothly and makes the competition seem really old...
  20. One thing i dont understand, that the government doesnt care about GM... and as I was listening to Mr Ford, I realized that GM & Ford are very historical for USA... Yet, why is the government willing to claim a certain home on the block as historical and that it must remain in its condition or restored. but when it comes to one of the most iconic american companys they turn their back Sure GM isnt going to go down without a fight... and sure Toyota isnt going to make themselves less competative... But I think with vehicles like the GMT900, with the upcoming Aura, with the sky, with the lucurne, with the enclave... GM will lead the segment again...
  21. well GM couldnt have the same amount of growth on any of their vehicles... when GM scores on a vehicle they get maybe a 20-30% increase in buyers, it that much... Nissan was tiny when the millenium changed... they probably got a 100%+ increase in sales from the vehicle... GM cant do that... they are already to big to grow like its the cool thing to do...
  22. Pearl Harbor remains a useful analogy given Admiral Isokoru Yamamoto's statement on December 7, 1941 - "I fear we have woken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve." Heres an old article, 2001 July... hrmm wanted to take this thread to another level, but... I really find it strange that all I seem to hear regaurding GM is that its waking up, that the General is finally starting to wake up. GM is learning Product matters. GM is asking for input on what direction their vehicles should take, I.E. front wheel drive, rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive. GM has hired Car Zcar, Robert Lutz, a old fighter pilot that has gasoline in his blood. GM is taking the world by storm with some of their new vehicles leaving the competition dumbfounded at time, while recently starting to stump reporters and critics in their bash fest. GM is grabbing headlines everywhere as Bob pushes his designers; also Mark Lanave pushes for innovative incentives to increase the value of GM products. While from the sideline Kirk is complaining like a baby about loosing a half a billion dollars. While GM's global sales hits over 9 million for the first time in 27 years. While Chevrolet, by default as Ford flounders, becomes Americas best selling brand. The General seems to throw more weight around as it gets up onto its knees. GM has been laying down for a long time. Meenwhile as America and Toyota are ready to put GM and Ford on the chopping block, after watching what happened to long time rival Chrysler, GM gets onto their knees and prepares to stand tall again. I think its about time, Toyota starts worrying about the General... This sleeping Giant isnt going down with a fight.
  23. looks like what some reporters/critics might call a black sea of plastics... but only those words are referd to american cars... these are refered to as having high quality buttons and an exceptional placement of a timepeice...?
  24. personnally if the thing isnt dual hinged, i dont think its the end of the world... because if you are going to drive with the top down, and you are going to park, maybe take the grocceries out, maybe you've already got your grocceries... often times people dont leave their cars unattended with the roof down... so whats the problem, if the driver is getting out why wouldnt he put up the top anyway?
