07 Escalade looked great in Super Bowl post game..
Newbiewar replied to Robert Hall's topic in Cadillac
those are nice... the GMC looks like it has higher quality plastics (expecially in the steering wheel) then the chevy and the Cadillac looks really nice... bigger nav too... different gauge cluster too on the cadillac -
i was going to say zonda... but... got to get out the research... looks similar to the 1999 Evans Series 3 LeMans but i dont think it is... ohh here we go... a winner 1991 Koenig C62 accually this thing isnt it either... but its very very close... blinkers are different, wing is differnt, and liscense plate frame.... other then that chassis is the same... here we go... i go to realize the 1991 Koenig C62 is based off of the Porsche 962 there...

haha sometimes it difficult to tell the leather from the cloth when looking from the outside.. but i think its the same cloth as the impala... the tan is really like a leather color i dont know how they pulled off such light trims on the inside...

we've got a chevron hydrogen around here right next to Hyundai head quarters...

just a question for those who have looked at the Cadillac, is there a difference between the rest of the GMT900's? as far as interior? -
yea its not bad it preforms pretty well...the car is by no means sluggish...

GM board to consider dividend and pay cuts
Newbiewar replied to regfootball's topic in General Motors
kinda old news... it would save GM about .5 billion a year, but realistically why would any of the investors keep their money in it... this would have the price of the stock fall off... and kirk would be leveraged enough to purchase the whole company... its accually kind of brillant now that i think of it... -
well it was rumored for a long while toyota never wants to get into commerical sized pickups because they are used more rigerously then the guy with the lawnmower in the back of his truck... Toyota doesnt want to have bad reliablity, so they never really entered the work horse arena... look at the titan, its having its fair share of problems... because people are using it for a truck instead of just a mode of transportation...

i think they need a smaller car that 18-30 year old males look at... something with plenty of power, but not a performance car, with the styling aspects that buicks deserive... something maybe a little smaller then the CTS
-
i bet they'll make it too big... haha... hopefully some one will poke this hippocryte right in the eye with their prius and tundra... their tundra already gets horrible gas mileage... and to make it bigger and more powerful... the problem with both tundras and Titans, they arent designed for construction work... so they dont get the harsh weathering of real work... they dont offer a vehcile with an 8 foot bed and room for more then 2-3 passengers... thats important for a lot of people, they want or need an extended cab or crew with the 8ft bed... hence all wood cuts are made at 8ft not 6.5 soo... in order for toyota to get it right i think they need to offer crew and extended cabs with 8 foot beds... but they wont get very good reliablity if they do... thats why i think they never offer 8ft beds other then single cabs...

to compliment that, we had a buyer in the other day ready to give up his lexus RX300 when the lease ended in a month, he was like, its powerful, its very comfortable, and smooth... wow, this is a really good car. normally i wouldnt have considered it, but my friend just bought one, and told me to come by. I tell people, the exterior isnt really the best part... so they look inside, and they are like... :o ... lol From a customers mouth, "Wow, the 07's just make all the 06's look like a pile of crap, I need to get rid of mine, and get a new one" and then i said... nope thats not the biggest improvement, lets take a drive, then you'll see how great this vehcile is. and sure enough, no one ever coments on how the truck is dissapointing other then maybe, it looks like a navigator, or it looks like an armada... although my coworkers think the old 5.3 is more agressive off the line..

this is a good question... JD power an associats seems to think they are starting to make em better... but thats only the premium brands... we need cadillac's quality in Chevrolet and we'll be in great shape...
-
you think they sorced MB for interior... who do you think our product man is... Mr BMW himself, Bob Lutz... look at any recent BMW and dont tell me you dont see the same wood grain, dont tell me you dont see the same style HAVC... Dont tell me the leather isnt from the same company... its like you get a BMW for the value of a Chevy... Thanks Lutz... I know cause we've got a used 2003 325 in our used car lot... the wood is exactly the same... leather the same, everything is the same...

cool article... GM ought to tear down their own cars from time to time, to see if they could improve upon them when its already finished...

although Aladin was a good movie... i think it was prince ali-babwa but yea, leave the money in the usa, and we'll be better off... did you know in the 40's ford designed a car that was based mostly on hemp and ran on hemp oil... a year later hemp was illegal to grow in america... it had a hemp compound that was like 6 times stronger then steel and lighter too... they said it would only take 6% of USA farm lands to power every car on the road with hemp oil, if we could grow it... but the government doesnt want to remove oil dependance... the early oil companys have such a grab of the politians nuts that we are incapable of changing... (not that I'm some kind of hippy i just think its fascinating that arguably one of the worlds best [or diverse] plants is outlawed in the worlds most agracultural country) on a E85 note... GM will be launching most of its campaign through the 07 avalanche in the next year or so... Also, I believe out Californian Governer has signed a deal with chevron and some pacific ethonal supplier to get california in the runnings for E85...

when you are on the freeway you can monitor your fuel ecconomy and it generally bounces back between a 20 V8 mode to a 35 V4 mode... so i believe low 20's for highway... but thats when you drive it properly... no one does these days... if you keep it on cruise you get about 5 % increase in fuel ecconomy... and no one uses it. and thats for almost any vehicle. but keep in mind the Cadillac is getting a 6.2 Liter 402 Hp motor... so, ideally it has more power to work with more efficently, or more power to work less efficently, depending on how they drive it.

yea at our ride and drive, they showed us the locking slip 2wd tahoe had better traction then the 4wd Toyota Sequoia it was quite amazing, and while both the Tahoe was teatering on two wheels and the Toyota was teatering on two wheels all the avalible power was being diverted to the free spining wheel on the toyota, and the chevy was just easily powering itself on one wheel.
-
but the GTO is done anyway... even if they kept the GTO on its new platform, its perportions are way different then that of the camaro... the firebird and GTO could co exist... as long as the firebird was also much different from the Camaro...
-
lol yea, you can probably get the transmitter that doesnt have that button... but then whats the point... play with it baby! its a GM car, no one else has that feature... rub it in their face... hell let it warm or cool your car before you get in...
