Happy Birthday lakefire and NINETY EIGHT REGENCY!
NINETY EIGHT REGENCY replied to ZL-1's topic in The Lounge
Your age? I do not look nor feel my age which may be the same as your age. You are only old as you feel. There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile, so I must feel "special". -
Happy Birthday lakefire and NINETY EIGHT REGENCY!
NINETY EIGHT REGENCY replied to ZL-1's topic in The Lounge
As for what am I getting? It was like any other day.. I exercised and went to work. My co worker took me to lunch, a lot of people simply said Happy Birthday, and some encouraging words. I got three cards, some money to put towards the Toronado being repaired. It would have been more, but something bad happened Monday, so I had to use some of it. Nothing else.... no paint job yet for the Ninety Eight. That is coming in time.. The funny thing was one of the people who sent me a card were the people who sold me the Toronado. I had not spoke to them since I bought the car in December 2006. I wrote them a thank you letter and told them about the Toronado and why it was not working and how I had not really had the chance to enjoy the car. I explained to them why it was in my driveway and had not been driven for months. I told them what I had done to it so far. I directed them to the photos online too. So.. the only thing that was a small victory for me was the fact the new Toronado GM factory stereo came yesterday, and I installed it and took the instrumentation panel apart and put it back together and the radio so far works well. I hold on to that small victory... So, today was like any other day. There were no surprises, or big plans. I do thank you for asking. -
I saw your post and I thought about this movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-OtR0jRXVE I started laughing..

Cheers and Gears got mentioned on Autoblog: With the Toyota vs. GM smackdown in full swing, the Vibe/Matrix always seemed inconsistent with the two companies regular practice of beating each other's brains out. The shared models have been popular enough to warrant a second generation, which we should see officially unveiled at the 2008 New York International Auto Show. Cheers and Gears has a bunch of great spy shots of the 2009 Vibe nearly devoid of camo, follow the link to see them. What is missing is any semblance of cladding, a change that's been propagating through Pontiac for a while now, and is welcome anywhere it goes. source: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/08/15/spy-sho...most-uncovered/ You never know who is viewing this website...

Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places

This is indeed sad. One must be careful. I wrote in that thread months ago what happened to me through someone I met online. Yes, one must be careful and find out what you know. -

Thank you so much for the well wishes. It is appreciated. -
I am still enjoying the conversation here.

Congrats to you!!! That is good news. That is why you knew so much about the paint.
-
I thought so... I was like didn't someone get in trouble for something similar to this before?
-
They did built the T2X... It is called Chevrolet Captiva, Holden Captiva, Vauxhall Antara and Opel Antara and Saturn VUE. Why are you all bashing the vehicle before it hits the streets? That is no different than someone praising a Toyota Camry without merit.
-
Welcome sir. Interesting photos.......
-
Are these photos supposed to be exposed like this? That car is really exposed. One good thing is the materials in the interior and the fact the car looks more it has some character too. That steering wheel reminds me of the old Pontiac steering wheels of the 1970's. The Pontiac themes are there. There is a market for this car apparently. It will be interesting to see the exposed product.
-
Interesting.... That is going to replace Uplander or Trailblazer or both? It looks fine to me. Just as long as it does not look like the others. The Malibu design front end is fine. My issue is the interior. Outlook already looks stripped. How do you make a Chevrolet look nice and not cheap at the same time? Time will tell. I will not make judgments until I see the vehicle.

I saw them as one before all of this happened. It is not so different because a division is a division to GM. Reality is reality. Too much of what is going on is too similar. They are just covering their bases this time. They are giving the weak divisions at GM a fair shot to turn things around. They deserve that chance.
-
That is funny!! I have been where they are right now. I remember on so many GM boards when it was happening to Oldsmobile, I was told to shut up, get over it and on and on. Now it is happening to other divisions under attack, things seem different when it is happening to the other divisions. Our words always come back to haunt us in some form or fashion. All I can tell the people who are fans of Pontiac, SAAB, and Buick is expect the unexpected. Believe none of what you hear. I do feel for you all. You will go through a period of sadness afterwards too. You will go through anger and denial too. You will come to terms with what happens. I will tell you this too, just like the Oldsmobile Bravada became a Buick and a SAAB is the same way other products can change divisions. The Bonneville GXP was born out of Auroras demise. It got a V8, and the Aurora seats to fill in that segment. That was one of the reasons I considered the Bonneville GXP until I realized what is under the hood. The Bonneville SLE would be the way to go. I do agree with you. They had some great names they could use. GM is starting to realize that whole name changing business did not work. It sure did not work for Oldsmobile. Now, critics and others are seeing it has not worked for Buick. Maybe GM is seeing it too. It was not the names, but rather the product.

MUTT LANGE APPRECIATION THREAD !!!!!!

Oh Black viper..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVxiHC9AJQw -
Interesting debate here. Where have I seen this before? I was reading all the posts, and it all sounds like the same stuff the Oldsmobile people went through. I just sit back and watch and read. I have been where others are going. People are getting all fired up about their brands. I can tell you this from experience.. When it all shakes out in the end, there will be fewer cars at GM and someones brand may not be here. The dealers will all be upset again, and the fighting will continue. I have to give it to you, you are all very passionate about this. While you gentlemen continue to discuss, I will continue to watch and sing the Oldsmobile song and watch videos on You Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvwydE_FXHI

SAVED BY THE BELL APPRECIATION THREAD!!!!
NINETY EIGHT REGENCY replied to regfootball's topic in The Lounge
I remember the show. Mark Paul Gosselar was attractive. He said they turned him into that teen hunk twink looking person in that photo. The show was a hit for a long time. It was not as successful as the class changed. -
Cars with More than 400,000 Miles
NINETY EIGHT REGENCY replied to vonVeezelsnider's topic in The Lounge
Do it!! Get it running again. -
We have extreme heat issued for the whole week. They said for people to stay in and stay cool. The thing that gets me it is happening in areas they normally do not get this hot. The thing is we are used to this in Texas. It is the humidity combined with the heat that is killer.

That may be true, but the point is head gaskets are not cheap. You might find them cheap where you are, but not here. I assure you of that. One thing people fail to realize that what they pay for something in one part of the country is not the same everywhere else. I have yet to see them for less than a thousand here. I hear you, but mine unfortunately does. I have hardly driven the car. I think the person before me did not take proper care of the car. Plus it also could be due to age too. Who knows?
-
I think it is a nice looking car and a good idea. I remember the SAAB Turbos. They had those Pontiac looking wheels too. Go SAAB!
-
I notice no mentions the bad period of GM 1985-1988 with all the cars were downsized and many other things. Most here drive the GM cars of the 90s or the early 21st century. My favorite era was the 1980-1985 GM C, B, E and G bodies( 1981-1988).

I just sold the best car I've ever had
NINETY EIGHT REGENCY replied to Camino LS6's topic in The Lounge
Funny. You did what you had to do. I know you will miss that car. You will upgrade to something you really desire. It does hurt when you do that. It really does. You developed a connection to your cars , it is like seeing a child grow up and go off. I do feel for you.
