  1. Chevrolet- Zero Pontiac- Zero Saturn- Zero Buick- Zero Cadillac- Zero SAAB- Zero Hummer- Zero
  2. I am so sorry. I really am. It seems too many people on this site have been in accidents. This was sad to read indeed. I am just glad you are okay.
  3. I was watching a program, and they were discussing this and showing footage. They then started telling people to find other ways to work. They were saying how unsafe we were crossing bridges. They then like every other program were over analyzing the video and this whole issue. Someone needs to step up and fix these bridges period. And another why does it always take tragedy for people to come together or just do something in this country?
  4. I saw a Saturn SL, GMC Jimmy, Chevrolet Caprice. I think this is indeed sad, but my issue is this: That whole I-35 bridge issue in Minnesota was really sad and tragic. I have been watching that. I had to get away from it because: 1. You get drawn it, you cannot get away 2. You develop fears of driving or worse. 3. You start thinking things you should not. It is indeed a sad situation. It goes to show just how short life is, and how much others take for granted. There are 80,000 bridges in the United States are NOT structurally sound. This is my question: Where is all that money we pay in vehicle registration fees and taxes going? The one that is the biggest issue is I-45 and Buffalo Bayou here in Houston. The 288 bridge over Sims Bayou is being fixed right now. These are the biggest issues of the 55 bridges they watch here in Texas: 1-10 San Jacinto River US 59 and San Jacinto River US 59 at the Brazos River All those are here in Houston. 21 % are structurally deficient in Texas. Two dozen in Harris County are. Hundreds more in Harris County are functionally obsolete.
  5. I was wrong. He responded. I was totally wrong. I admit my faults. Myer Shift, the "way" you worded that thread came off as harsh for lack of a better term. and I still stand by what I said about we do not know what is going on with you or Dustin or his family. We still do not know. This was an experience for you. The only people who know are the people involved.
  6. Thank you for the tip..
  7. Please!! I am almost old enough ( probably am) to be his father and drive his Oldsmobile. Kidding. I am not, but I was very young in 1982. It was the beginning for the A Bodies..
  8. That is so messed up. That is why I am having a professional fix the headliner on my Toronado. It sags, but I am not driving the car right now. I thought about the spray glue thing myself.. I would rather it be done properly.
  9. Agreed. They look like LeSabres that are dressed up!
  10. Agreed. We are on the same page on this one. Interesting stories from you gay youth too.
  11. You may not get a response. He opened himself up. He thought people here had his back. He soon found out they did not, he probably won't respond or even post at all. I sense Myers Shift is a younger guy. The reason I say this is because at a younger age most(NOT ALL) tend to react out of feelings and emotions as opposed to action or thinking rationally. As you get older if you develop wisdom, you realize you cannot react out of feelings or anger or "emotions". You realize too you pick your fights. I did not say much until now other than posting the Dynasty videos. It remind me of that because of how things played out... I was not there, but it is sad because his former friend will be forced to leave town or worse and make a new life for himself. I do not care if it is 2007, it is still not cool to be gay in small towns... I left home when I was 19 for many reasons. One of them was because I was gay, and it was not acceptable to be that way in a small community. I left because I did not want my relatives to continue to persecute me and I did not want to cause them any shame of their "reputation". I was thinking of them even when they did not think of me. I grew up in a small town. It is hard as hell to make a life on your own when you feel that way. I will never forget that book I read at 19 that said gays do not belong in small towns. There is no opportunity to grow when you feel isolated and there are very few people like you. Very few chances to be around people like you outside the internet. When I left home at 19, there was no internet. That book said gays tend to do better and function better in large cities or dense populated areas where there are others. That is why when I see young gay people, I see the experience they need to gain and what they have to experience. Blackviper for example will have to leave that small town he lives in eventually. The sad part is, the friendship could have been saved. It cannot now. This guy will grow to hate him or worse. We do not know what Dustin's family will say or do. We do not know what Myer Shifts family and friends will think. His own girlfriend is scared of him now. That should not be that way. Too many people are being impacted by this. One thing you do not do is play with someone else's life. Sadly, that you sow, you shall also reap. Sadly, there will be a lesson out of this too. No one will like the results.
  12. Glad you made it home safely. I have never traveled abroad.. It sounds interesting. So.. you came through Houston. You only saw the airport. You appreciate the size of our cars when you travel abroad huh....
  13. You hit it right on the head... That is why I have been so careful about what I say about myself on here and what I reveal. And unfortunately, sometimes your own friends can be your worst enemies...
  14. Reading that reminded me if this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcdhdzfbR_o and this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LbLikClWnM...ted&search=
  15. In due time Paolino.. In due time you will own one. This is just not the season. Do not grow faint of heart and be weary for when the season arrives, you will get the desire of you heart. Hold on, hold out and do not lose hope.
  16. The membership fee is very cheap for a year. It is like 25.00 a year. You can give more if you want. They send you newsletters telling what is going on, and anything new they are up to or any meetings happening. I find it worth it. You even get a membership card in the mail. You also get some benefits I have never used once you visit the museum.
  17. I am a member of the Museum. I have been one for years. I have never been there. I bought things from them too. I am helping keep the memory of Oldsmobile alive.
  18. Good find Ted!!! I totally missed that one. Thank you for posting. Notice Dodge was not even mentioned or competitive back then.
  19. This is what you are referring to: The Caprice eventually did get the Impala lines: Interior:
  20. In the first post, the exterior is the same color as my interior on my Toronado.
  21. That is when Caprice was a winner. I remember those. I liked the 1988 Caprice Classic Brougham LS sedan.
  22. I did not say anything about the 3.6. I was talking about the Northstar. I said Buick cannot just drop the engine in the car. I repeat, I do not trust that engine. I used to be a fan of it, until I used to go to the dealership with my first Ninety Eight all the time and the repair bills I saw for people who had the Northstar V8. My own mechanic charges more to fix that engine and he is independent. He even said he would not buy a car with that engine. Information on trouble areas on the STS with the Northstar V8 ( 1998-2004) Engine knock: The engine makes ticking noises and knocking noises that sound like main bearing knock, often due to cylinder carbon buildup. (1998-99) Engine knock: Engine knock, especially when cold, may be due to carbon buildup in combustion chambers. (2000-01) Engine temperature: Overheating and coolant loss may be due to rough surface on radiator filler neck. Neck should be sanded smooth and cap replaced. (1999-2000) Fuel gauge: The fuel gauge reads empty or swings between empty and full due to problem with the in-tank sending unit. (1998) Oil leak: Beware rear main seal leaks on Northstar engine. (1996-99) Information on trouble areas on STS with Northstar V8 (2005-2006) Fuel gauge: The engine may not start or may stall because the tank is empty yet the gauge shows fuel remaining, or the fuel gauge will not show full after refilling due to sulfur corrosion of the fuel level sender and if after treating with Fuel System Cleaner PLUS the problem remains, the sender may need to be replaced. (2005-06) Oil leak: Oil leaks at the timing cover on 4.6L engines may require a gasket or a new timing cover. (2004-05) Years later, and that whole oil leak and head gasket issue is still a problem. Fuel gauge still a problem. To repair the timing chain?? Over a thousand dollars... That is before labor. The price? $1,090 Real reliable huh?? I do not trust that engine. Notice that the CTS does not use the Northstar engine. It could have. It does not. The new one 2008 does not use it either. Repair costs: Cadillac with a Northstar V8: Item Name Repair Cost A/C Compressor $730 Alternator $735 Automatic Transmission or Transaxle $1,350 Brakes $570 Constant Velocity Joints $1,050 Exhaust System $595 Radiator $520 Shocks and/or Struts $1,350 Timing Chain or Belt $1,090 Buick with a 3800 V6: Item Name Repair Cost A/C Compressor $500 Alternator $265 Automatic Transmission or Transaxle $850 Brakes $365 Constant Velocity Joints $750 Exhaust System $475 Radiator $450 Shocks and/or Struts $900 Timing Chain or Belt $325
  23. Good for you.. I hope you have not had any more trouble with that car. It is nice you are enjoying your car as much as you are.
