For Earth Day, higher CAFE
Alright, that's it... I'm starting a C&G CARBIZ fan club. Yet again, I can see exactly what you're talking about (parallel to america, of course, since I'm not Canadian) As far as the regs, 1) small cars will not require the engineering and price increase that large cars will, that was part of my point. 2) I'm sure thegriffon is much more level headed about it than the board of GM. I would still expect bad things to happen to any product program that matters (to us enthusiasts) I'm really worried about having to drive a 4 cylinder Corvette in about 7 years. EDIT: fixed the sig...

For Earth Day, higher CAFE
I think it's skewed in favor of the asians on the car side as well. Smaller cars are domintaed by those manufacturers. One more knife in Detroit's back.

For Earth Day, higher CAFE
LOL, I think this guy has been breathing in a bit too much of those carbon emissions. Plus inflation... Any facts to back this sh*t up or is someone just guessing again? And we get to the root of things... 1) It's all about politics and 2) Apparently some people in Congress believe that the american auto industry needs to "REFORM".... Hmm, were these regulations REALLY aimed at reducing fuel usage; or reducing our industry by 2-3 companies? Too bad the VOTER, you know, the REAL problem, doesn't seem to need to "reform" Too bad Toyota and Nissan, makers of some of the most INEFFICIENT trucks on the road, don't need to "reform". Nah... It's always Detroit. So, just because your buddies in Congress wont help set up an infrastructure and just because you and your revisionist friends don't support american businesses, it's a "loophole" for the Detroit automakers? Bet it wouldn't be a "loophole" if Toyota and Honda had millions of E85 vehicles on the road. Then it would be an environmental revolution, just like your oxymoron of lithium-ion powered electric cars. Because we all know how well the environment takes to rotting batteries.

It's Official... I... Am A Dumbass
I locked my keys inside of the Focus while it was running one night. So maybe now you feel a little better I turned the car on to warm it up and took the remote off, then locked the door. Little did I know that the remote doesn't work if the car is on. So I spent the next hour in the freezing cold making a break-in tool and wedge and breaking in to my Focus (Not an easy car to break into, or so it seems.) while all of my co-workers laughed at me. The car was nice and warm when I finally did get it open, LOL.

Car parodies of motivational posters
Max is my dog, BTW. *Before anyone gets too angry, that's steam. It was a cold day and I fired up the Camaro.

Vauxhall unveils new Griffin badge
I meant nothing negative by it. It's just that most of the posters now are simply enthusiasts and armchair quarterbacks. Most of the insiders and industry folks have stopped posting. (In restrospect, I see how that could've been taken wrong)

DI Outlook to get 27 MPG highway?
I would beg to differ... Since the mid 90's there has been a 'small town' movement in the architectural and planning world. The place I live now is yuppie paradise. It was on Money Magazines top 10 places to live about 6 years ago when the boom began. http://money.cnn.com/2002/11/21/services/p...m_bpl/index.htm And guess why it's so appealing; small town atmosphere. It was originally a mill town outside of the city that has now been taken over as the arts district. It features a small town layout, small town businesses and local talent. NC has been booming with people who move here to "get out of the city" and have "a slower lifestyle" Too bad those people are now making it "the city" and ruining it for us natives.

Here's the new Buick
It's also a product of capitalism. The more we adopt capitalism as a global society, the more homogenized and safe/plain our choices will become. You think it's bad now, just wait until the fuel cell cars start hitting the road en mass. I'm willing to bet that EVERYTHING will be appliance-like with absolutely no emotion by then.

Chevrolet to offer Malibu LTZ with a new powertrain
YAY! Here we go into 4 cylinder hell! I think this is a good OPTION nonetheless.

Feds demand fast start on higher CAFE
As much as I would LOVE to see that happen, it would be publicity and political suicide. I'd love to hear Lutz say; "Ah, f*ck 'em. GM is committed to building cars and trucks that the public wants to buy."
-
Feds demand fast start on higher CAFE
Well, that was the plan IMO. Cars didn't need new regs because the asians already own that market. The goal was to kill Detroit's truck business and (hopefully, finally) finish off Detroit. Either that, or the greenies are just jealous that they can't afford high priced (BIG) vehicles, that requires actually getting a job.

Feds demand fast start on higher CAFE
Maybe not, but I'd like to have my truck to pull my camper, classic cars and horses. But god forbid we not all live in the city, not enjoy the outdoors and not drive Civic Hybrids.

GM avoids strike at Malibu plant -- for now
Any word on how the strike is affecting Outlook/Acadia/Enclave?

+2 on the "great post!"

What are YOUR plans for summer-08 ?
NC? (I have spike strips) LOL

Vauxhall unveils new Griffin badge
Not much anymore.

Here's the new Buick
Cars are becoming so generic and homogenized, especially in this segment. Thank the Japanese and their friends in the media for that. Creativity is no longer allowed, so everyone plays it safe with the same bland designs and the same bland colors for the same bland buyer. This Buick is sexy, but not nearly as sexy as the Enclave IMO. Something got lost.

So what about an Epsilon II G6?
Well, ya know... We never got any solid proof of global warming either, but that didn't stop Congress from limiting our freedom and driving the final nail into Detroit's coffin (The real intention of some of the green legislators)

Exec who ushered Toyota to NASCAR set to retire.
LOL. Yep... It's "so special" to buy your way to victory lane! (We all know that Toyota buys all of it's racing technology)

VW vs GM
Does anyone else find it funny that they hired a Swede to promote a German company. Some of the best car commercials I've seen

VW vs GM
Looks like GM is cursed on all of the continents now.

I was being sarcastic FWIW.

Car parodies of motivational posters
I especially love how the sign says "HILL" next to/above the limo... LMFAO!

Here's the new Buick
Yes. The original plan was for the N* replacement to have the ability to fit into Ep II. Now, I'm not sure if that was ever officially the plan, but the potential was there until GM made ignorant decisions.

For Earth Day, higher CAFE
I find this whole thing funny.... So, to protect the environment, we're going to 1) raise the price of cars and 2) develop technology that will allow americans to drive more and more. Effectively forcing people either to keep their older cars longer, or flat out buy an older car, and then drive the wheels off of it. GOOD MOVE CONGRESS!!!! You get a gold star from the gold star fairy!
