  1. Well...both Cincinnati and Cleveland have lots of established Mafia. Financing is available...but not even sure the Mafia would take this bet. No more vehicles than they will sell they probably could move production to the guard shack. Builds in a tangential alternative reality... It will get re developed into low income housing. So much winning....
  2. Nothing good will come of any of this. That plant has a better chance of reverting to wilderness than building more cars.
  3. We will see more players drop out of the market. Nothing says that Mazda will survive as an independant, cars could be mostly gone other than specialty vehicles for Ford and GM, Tesla is not out of the woods, Nissan can't live indefinitely on easy financing, a lot of industry overlap everywhere. And China wants a piece of the pie.
  4. Given the people we have elected, i certainly hope so. At this point, I am so uninspired by most of what is sold that I see myself buying a used Chevy Colorado to haul lumber and tools and continuing with the woodworking thing. Finding most new rides rather passionless.
  5. Good news for me if I replace the Beetle.
  6. Driving north through Ohio to see a friend...I saw a lot of rail cars normally used for shipping new cars put into sidings normally only used for deep storage of things that will be out of service for awhile. Signs of an impending slowdown? I actually like some of each of their products. But nothing is really exciting me in terms of new product.
  7. I always love seeing a Tucker.
  8. Considering a Jeep for my next vehicle.
  9. Quoted for truth...and even a die hard For Cynic like me cannot help but like the new Lincoln product.
  10. It even comes with extra compost on the hood...
  11. Torn down years ago sadly. Love this pic. If you google Northbank Park in columbus Ohio you will see a project I ran the electrical portion of back in the day.
  12. My son at Victoria falls in Africa.
  13. I absolutely give this two thumbs up. Should do well for them.
  14. CPO certainly worked for my last car.
  15. It's something in the water...I almost never see your responses as less than sane and civil. You are always civil and decent...
  16. Mods could we please lock this thread? This whole thing has gotten unacceptable.
  17. Ya know....I got yelled at by another driver who ran a red light...I had a green....near accident. Sometimes not escalating a situation has benefits. Nothing mechanical is ever perfect. Although the 65-70 Mustang fastbacks and 58-62 Corvettes are close to visually perfect, so I have to potentially modify what I said... And I think you need to give the Mad Greek Oldsmobile fanatic some breathing room. Boeing did really do some morally questionable things here.
  18. Pretty much the state of everything right now. This would be a fantastic country if we could elect actual adults to lead us. I am flying to Florida next week and will be flying on a Boeing 737. Yes, Boeing has some moral responsibility but they also have built some damned safe aircraft. No one has ever lost their lives on a 787, and I don't think any 777's were to blame for any of the fatalities on them. Most but not all of the 747 accidents that were fatal were human error rather than Boeing's engineering. I challenge anyone here to do anything with that kind of success record. Hell....Oldshurst has more failures with hot dogs in his restaurant than Boeing does with planes. And yes...no one has ever died from one of those hot dogs...but people are not exactly flying them across oceans either. And yet cost cutting did bring us two bad crashes. Boeing will pay out the nose for grounded flights and lost business. They are big kids on the block and they know this. That is part of what makes supervised Capitalism work.
  19. Capitalism with adult supervision is fantastic.
  20. More like morally bankrupt actually. GM has issues with product more than they have issues with trump Which is why it won't happen.
