Lincoln News: 2019 Lincoln Continental Adds Suicide Doors
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Lincoln
Will make a neat collectable like the 'thunderbird roadsters from the early 1960's I think. But yes...building 80...probably at a huge loss for Ford...Swan song for this car.- 23 replies

I find the smell of diesel covers the smell also...I do the same with the Norfolk Southern tracks here in Columbus. And I am into import performance....the Fart can is a feature not a fault. I love really spicy food that makes you feel like you are going to melt the porcelain of the toilet when you finally do manage to (rather rapidly!) find a bathroom. I think I could have you seriously beat here with this.

This is hotter than anything Lexus Acura or Infinity builds today....including the NSX IMHO. Maybe not in terms of outright speed...but this is all there. Absolutely.

Yeah...and the Chevrolet motors are still far cheaper to modify. Buick Muscle cars are seriously under rated as cars...IMHO.

Hyundai News:Hyundai Cans Santa Fe Diesel For U.S.
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Hyundai
I am not much of a Hyundai fan...not impressed with thier gas powerplants not sure I would want one of thier diesels. Heavy duty diesel trucks may indeed start going away en masse in my lifetime. -

Yes...but short stroke internal combustion motors are notoriously short on torque. Maybe you should consider something electric instead for the good vibrations.

All I know is that I would totally rock one. Alfa sold far fewer Montreal models and they are still fantastic. Would rock one of those also. Wait a week and C and G will be dropping an article about how GM is bringing it back as a full electric. They should sell millions.

But they have one heck of a grasp on Hybrids. It will have a place at the table in a niche market. just like the Miata....Miata has a cult following...- 29 replies

Acura News: Acura Turns Its Attention Back To Their Sedans
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Acura
Quoted for truth....and for once an economy of words and eloquence of language. Well spoken. The restyle on the TLX should appeal greatly to preschoolers whose vehicular styling experience comes from playing with legos while too tired for bed. Seriously.... someone saw this as a clay mock up and approved it for production? And for once I will side with Cmicassa and against the Japanese. We loose both the Impala and CT6 and get to keep THIS? Like Lincoln, their SUV's really outshine their sedans IMHO. One of my sisters just bought a new Acura SUV and loves it. I like the technology and build quality of the TLX....latest front end refresh not so great. I think that more than afraid to compete know their market and stick to it, much like Subaru. The Japanese seem much less culturally adept at taking risks....in America...I'd rather be a hammer than a nail...in Japan...the nail that sticks up gets hammered down.- 21 replies

Toyota News: 2020 Toyota Supra Finally is Revealed Sans Camo
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Toyota
I would hate to see you stuff it into a wall on track, bad things happen to race cars on track. One of the most painful moments from my days as a flagger at Mid Ohio, which I discussed here several years ago...was watching a vintage Shelby Mustang and one of the Monte Carlo SS's that Dale Earnhardt drove to his championship come together hard and go into a retaining wall. Both cars were rebuilt....but that was painful to watch. Not that you lack chops as a driver per se. On the other hand, tired of performance cars that only get driven to car shows. It still looks better than most (if not all) modern cars though. Back to the Supra, I like it. Maybe not absolute love or lust, but like. Giving myself the freedom to like what I like is making me feel better as an enthusiast. I am a small sporty car kind of a guy, even though I like vintage and vintage Muscle. Civic Si/R/GTI/WRX/BRZ/Cooper S/ST/RS kind of a guy when it comes to new cars. Cars like the 370Z and the Supra have enough of that DNA to make me happy. Edited to add...both Civic Type R and Golf R under the R label, please. See...for me here the real win is styling. And I actually find myself liking the Benz more than the BMW. Plus I trust Benz engineering more than I do BMW. So I would upvote the Benz of the two, but not strictly on performance.- 29 replies

Wonder how a stock B59 would do on the ring? But yes....for the Supra to do seven minutes dead flat on the ring they would be charging a million bucks a copy.- 29 replies

If the market will bear it it isn't over priced. That two million dollar Hemi Cuda convertible at Barrett Jackson has reached the same market equilibrium pricing. I love pre war Bentlys and ratty RX 7s. One is worth a Kings ransom and one is worth a Burger King meal combo. Both have merit. So what...it is a cool car.- 29 replies
