Nothing they build...or the Asians for that matter....looks this good. Coming from me...that is saying Something! Doesn't matter...from a visual standpoint this owns everything else on the market. -
Or an S10 at an auction and save seventy grand. Everyone has a different threshold of what they are willing to pay or what technology they want.

GM News: Ms. Barra Goes to Washington
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
This is profoundly anti American and anti free market. In fact thinking like this is exactly why I drive a car built in Mexico. I don't want the government telling me what to drive...period. Or conversely how many of our exports would be stone walled? Ask midwestern farmers how that trade war is working out for them. I suppose if closing yourself off from the world and abandoning trade worked North Korea would be the most prosperous country on the planet. In fact the opposite is the case.- 27 replies

Ohhh heck yes. Feeling better as an enthusiast actually than I have felt in maybe years. And God what I would not give for a 49-50 Mercury I always thought the Ford Variant of that was under rated. Also...I think early 50's cars are under rated by enthusiasts. I would not ahve enjoyed Polio or the Cold war...but from an automotive standpoint....Wish I had been growing up an enthusiast in the 50's in some ways. Proof that the Vega and Pinto interbred with anteaters.

Yep....product is a problem at Ford and GM. Toyota, honda, Hyundai, Kia, Benz, BMW, VW, Subaru, and others also build cars in the US and are not idling plants en masse. Not saying all GM and Ford products are bad...just that they need to work harder at being competitive. Even though I am the spiritual opposite of Cmicassa here in that I love a lot of foreign cars....I will even go out on a limb for GM. The big problem at GM is the front office, not the design studio or the assembly line. Promote and market what you have GM. GM really does under perform in terms of quality of product and sales. They need marketing. Badly. End of rant.

Ohhh absolutely. But my point is GM owns the plant...if they want to move it or shutter it...that is there right. Now...no statewide elected official can be seen as neutral on this and keep his job. I just don't want the thing to sit empty for ten years like Janesville did for GM.- 27 replies

Lordstown will most likely join the ranks of Fords Wixom Michigan plant or Fords Lorain assembly plant as a historical rather than current production facility. If anything, it is better to get the pain over with quickly and re develop. Communities don't gain anything from a shuttered plant in their midst. Really understand why both of them are doing it but disappointed to the highest degree with my senators for pressuring GM. It is GM's plant, they have a right to close it if they wish. Making other profitable plants subsidize Lordstown will only drag the whole company down.- 27 replies

Liberty is a little beast in the snow, my friend Dustin has one. -
Hey, the broncos beat Pittsburgh with that interception so.... In other news, a sane discussion of the pros and cons of electric cars, something that we seem to lake here from time to time. They are coming back, like a lot of other things in Ohio.

If I didn't have family in town I would drive over and Join you. Not even that big of an NFL fan....but it seems like it would be a fun game to watch. Lots of my friends here in Columbus are Colts fans.
