Yes to gutting out the kitchen. Lowes pickled oak construction grade cabinets need to go. In my Ideal world basement would be saved for a monster model railroad. Currently eating Thai food with my daughter. Explained to the waitress that if I was being carried out on a stretcher after eating the curry it was probably spicy enough.

Front doors and kitchen needs to go. Other than that, 8.75 out of ten. I would like it better if it were a little more edgy and contemporary. Could also do with real wood passage doors rather than the pressed fiber board doors.

Yeah...but Ford will really loose what is left of their American automotive identity if they start selling Euro Sedans as Fords. The bland nature of current product from most car makers is why I have moved back into being a railfan and a fan of vintage Woodworking tools from being an automotive fan. As an enthusiast getting excited about most of today's cars is nothing short of impossible. Either start building passionate interesting products or we really can go to an era of self driving appliances.

That's just about as wrong as interbreeding a cat and a dog and calling it a cog... When one needs to look 70 years back in the past to dislike something...hmmm...why not just say they are not your thing? no car is for everyone. The current generation, yes...but for Decades they built wickedly cool stuff. It's almost as after the late 1970's they took a Canadian snowstorm as inspiration for their products. Bland.

Because a badge engeneered Routan Dodge van was such an amazing success. VW had a 39 month backlog/inventory at one point. Next up...the return of diesel and the air cooled bug.

See...odly enough I of all people really like all of the current F series. And the Ranger is growing on me. Polarized to a hard no at first but liking it more. Agreed. Fleet truck. Now the 60s and 70s Chevy trucks could rock that look.

Just don't drop an EV powertrain into this one.... ...and this is my gripe with Ford. Not that they are terrible...just that they never seem to live up to their potential with anything other than F series and Mustangs. I am from Ohio with the Cleveland Browns...I have lived with enough frustration for one lifetime. Although I am really more of a Steelers and Packers fan.

Although I love, love love the 56 Chevy also. I have owned a 55 two door post and a 57 two door hard top. If I ever get another vintage vehicle I think I want a truck. However....if I get a car...56 Chevy would be a serious consideration. Would give my right arm (well maybe not quite) for a 56 nomad. Or a convertible. Saw one as a model on display at the diner I ate at with friends for breakfast Sunday morning. There is a part of me that feels like you are the grumpy old guy (one of the two) from the Muppet Show. Don't worry, we still love you. If I can be partisan against Ford and Lincoln (modern Ford and Lincoln...vintage stuff, Trucks, mustangs are fantastic) you can be partisan against EV's. ...in a way that is as satisfying as Miley Cyrus reminding us she has girly bits with her racy photographs. Briefly enjoyable and then the stomach turns a bit.

All three are fantastic looking trucks...but there is something about the Chebbie I really like! Ohhh absolutely. Been out of town for a training class....this rolled up next to me at a fuel pump...same color and everything. Gorgeous, Gorgeous car. GM is building a few cars that are starting to Rival stuff of the heydey of the 50's and 60's. Japanese women are beautiful...

Actually i like both this and the olds from the other thread.... Or maybe as enthusiasts we should just be happy someone is still building large convertibles? I would be tickled pink if Cadillac were to build another large convertible. Bingo. And you are very right about Mercedes being the premier luxury car maker. As one of my co workers says...there is Mercedes and then there is every other car on the planet... I don't entirely agree with that sentiment, but don't entirely disagree with it either.- 18 replies

October 2018: Mercedes-Benz USA
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
Lack of cars sitting around sucking up capital is an excellent thing. Economy is getting ready to slow down and luxury purchases one of the first things to go imho. With declining sales apparently not enough G wagons are hitting the G spot. Fritz needs to look for new ways to warm things up... Luxury car market in general is taking a dump. -

I would upvote this by at least a thousand if I could. If Ford can keep up the corporate attitude I see in these videos and focus on what they do well they will win me back. In any relationship the key is to define what will make you happy if you are unhappy. In the case of Ford...build what you are passionate about. Jeep analogy is very well placed. I could see myself loving a Ford motor company that was passionate about Trucks...Mustangs...and SUVs...maybe Edge and one other. If they can stop trying to be all things to all people...they will win me back. Love...love...and love the new videos by Ford! I disagree. Trying to be everything to everybody is what has held them back IMHO. I really like the idea of a strong lean and Focused (pun not intended) Ford motor company. -
