  1. Change that to about once a day for people who live in Ohio like me and drive a lot of miles in a major city. I obviously don't wash my car that often, but there are days I think that is what it would take.
  2. Now if Mazda only had a blue this nice for the ND Miata we would be cooking with gas. They are getting the blue from the CX5 but I think they still need a stronger blue. Nice enough looking a car, would prefer a Sonta instead were I to buy a Hyundai.
  3. Murdered out cars in black look fantastic, love this and the Lincoln in the other thread.
  4. Imola Orange is a very rare S2000 color, also available on the NSX. Lime green was a color they also shared that is very rare.
  5. My other issue with this car is that the back seat is tight compared with other cars in the class, especially the Corolla and the Jetta. I have two adult sons whoa re over 6 foot tall and ride with me sometimes. Plus I like to go places with my sons friends, not all of whom are small people. That alone would push me into another Jetta or Corolla in this class.
  6. I do agree on the dashboard of this car, MUCH nicer than much of the competition. Especially the god awful previous generation Civic. I have a friend who bought a Fiesta, she hates the transmission to the point where she wants to trade the car in. She bought it new and is not a car geek. Similar results with another friend who just bought a Focus and has become progressively less happy with the transmission. I like the direction that Ford is going, I am interested to see what they bring to market.
  7. Car makers drive me nuts when they do this. I love the 1980'S SVO Mustangs, but they were low production cars and lots of bits, from the front headlights to the turn signals are unique to the cars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang_SVO Good luck on your salvage rebuild, let me know what you want for it when it is done. I will be looking for an inexpensive car for my kids to learn to drive on. I have a twenty year old daughter who has never bothered to get her licensee and a fifteen year old who wants to learn. G6 was kind of a sad casualty of the whole economic collapse, I really liked the convertible versions of the car especially.
  8. I still like it in the green as well. Plus, with the diesel, it is rated to tow ten thousand pounds. Probably not going to buy a truck with the next vehicle. However, looked at a Colorado at my local Chevy Dealer recently when I got bored. I was very, very impressed!
  9. Bring everything from C1 through C8 into production would be even better!
  10. At our most recent TDI club meeting we were all standing outside talking cars in the parking lot of the restaurant we met at, and a TDI cup special edition that was not affiliated with us drove through the parking lot. Wanted one of those also. Sadly, I do not think VW will have an EPA certified real for the gen 1 TDI common rail diesels, so most of these will sadly be crushed. The Lexus and the SS are both lust worthy also. Actually I like all of your choices. Wish I had bought the Honda you chose back when they were plentiful and cheap. CTS is gorgeous and love the Tesla.
  11. And that is the gods honest truth. Both companies are thriving and have some cool designs. But remembering how pissed I was at Ford for those commercials has really honestly pushed the blue oval boys out of my garage in terms of my next vehicle purchase. Thankfully I will soon have about six or seven grand of VW money to spend on a non VW Audi group product. And also in terms of leadership look at paint fit and finish. I have been very impressed with what both Ford and GM have done. They have also both done an excellent job at improving reliability also IMHO.
  12. Neat to see progress here.
  13. And they are still fundamentally burning tons of cash in not terribly rational ways.
  14. Ford resale is really already messed up. I am not able to afford a Corvette or a CTS V, I am looking at cheaper performance cars. The Focus ST and Fiesta ST are both neat cars but have hideous depreciation, even compared to something like the VW GTI. The GTI of course being tainted by the falling reputation of VW. I think one also needs to look at how utterly bland most of the Ford lineup was in the 2006-2008 era compared to GM. There was a very legitimate reason they were having a problem turning a profit by putting money to metal. And while it is fun to talk about various cars in the dream car garage threads in the Lounge, I think I have decided that I will not be buying a Ford motor company product for my next car, or maybe ever. This thread has reminded me in a really negative wort of way of the arrogance of Ford in acting superior in not taking the bail out money. A few years ago I changed my on screen name from 66 Stang to a Horse with No Name because I did not want to associate myself with Ford because of their arrogant attitude. Feeling really glad at the moment that I didn't pull the trigger on a new Focus ST. Almost bought one a couple of years ago when I bought my TDI, and almost ordered one when it looked like the buy back was a sure thing. I think Cadillac also deserves enormous credit for designs that are really modern and edgy. There is a confidence to the design language that no other luxury car maker can match.
  15. Would love to be closer to take that Impala for a spin. Believe it or not it is actually one of my favorite GM cars. It is one thing to build an 80 grand Cadillac, it is another to build a car as class leading as the Impala and sell it for thirty grand! I would be more interested in your actual thinking about what you do and do not like about the current line up of cars from both GM and Ford.
  16. Agree especially on the quality of the current Chevrolet line up. I really like the Impala programming just the way it is.
  17. Can we get back to where we are now in terms of product and off the discussion of the past? From a product standpoint, what is each company doing right and wrong in everyones opinion?
  18. Hopefully if costs keep coming down...
  19. Wow, numbers for Acura are off big time, especially in the sedans.
  20. Not very well. Methinks this is why Elon Musk keeps talking about Mars....a diversion from the failures in the home office.
  21. Someone said that with just the model S,they are profitable, and a lot of the loss is due to trying to bring the X and the 3 online. I am still not sure I see them surviving long term, sadly.
  22. I wish them luck. They may change history in a major sort of way if they can manage their cash flow.
  23. I believe you are correct in this.
  24. I really do like the Turbocharged technology that Ford has come out with. Apples to oranges I know, but my neighbors Ecoboost F150 is fantastic.
  25. Be glad to start seeing these on the Road!
