Quick Drive: 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL
I could see how that would work out for them. Still I would prefer even a Chrysler 200 or a base Camry for even so much as a rental. Really though, not a bad car. Nissan does get maroon right. The color on the same just nails it IMHO. GM is still the king of maroon though....from Firethorn red in the seventies to the modern maroons...YOWZA!

Quick Drive: 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL
Yes, but for the money better alternatives exist. Still a pretty decent automobile.

Nice, but for the money I think that one could do better. The new Malibu is a much better car for the money.

Ultimate Dream Garage: All-American Edition
For me, one car I can really enjoy. Some interesting variation on a 68 California Special, and I would be happy. Alternatively, I think I would like to own a 58-62 Corvette, preferably a 61-62. ...and for a daily....CTS-V!

Chevrolet News:Its Official! 2017 Chevrolet Bolt To Offer 238 Miles of Range
I think this is fantastic. The big thing though is peoples mind set is changing...I work on a university campus. many of our students would love to own an electric car. at the very least, GM has a viable product, unlike say Mazda or Subaru.....or VW for that matter....VW lags in electric technology.

Frisky's Personal GTI Long Term Review
It does indeed...sadly my sports car and muscle car desires are coming back...I think I am going to physically cry when I see how much more I am spending on fuel for the next car....now if I( could only convince my wife we need a Shelby Mustang for a daily driver, we would be all set....

Frisky's Personal GTI Long Term Review
I have no idea what in creation to replace it with. My teenage daughter sideswiped a telephone pole, minor damage, but I am turning it back into VW as is....saving myself a bunch of money in premiums....put almost 50K on it in less than two years, getting back what I paid for the thing...

Nissan News: Nissan Gives 2017 Rogue A New Face, Hybrid
I would concur, but I have been accused of being overly negative with some vehicles. But the Altima is really, really hard for me to have any love for. I do not think the current design language of Nissan will age well. loved the new Maxima at first,a t this point I am finding myself really tired of it.

Frisky's Personal GTI Long Term Review
So would I. Sadly, there are 3 designs for the common rail diesels. The 2015's have the EA288 system, which really got it right in terms of fuel economy and reliability. However, they will not re introduce diesels, and my car, were I to keep it, would be something of a Unicorn or orphan. Will be very sad in many ways to sell it back, but feel it is the right thing for me to do for my family.

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger To Get AWD Option, Widebody Hellcat for 2017
I can appreciate that. Went in to look at a Renegade at a local dealer, asked the sales person what they were going to do if the price of fuel went back up. Sales person basically said the current thin king is that people would buy Ram and jeep products regardless of the fuel price and that passenger cars were not necessary. I think this thinking may kind of bite them in the end.... The 300 is a popular car round here, wonder what they will fill its shoes with...probably nothing, sadly.

Dodge News: Dodge Challenger To Get AWD Option, Widebody Hellcat for 2017
Agreed, but let's give them a chance and see what they can do. I really love the Camaro on its new platform...maybe we can get the same kind of love out of Fiat/Chrysler.

VW News: As the Diesel Emits: Volkswagen Engineer Pleads Guilty Over Diesel Emission Scandal
Dropping values and lack of future support is why we are selling ours back. It has been a fabulous car though, and I will miss it. Not sure what we will replace it with. In a way you are correct. While I find VW negligent, there are far worse environmental crimes that get far less attention. VW's punishment kind of smacks of protectionism if you ask me. Aside from the environment impact, i find electrical cars compelling for a couple of reasons. One, I love the torque and the performance. Two, it is the future of the automobile....we do not have enough fossil fuel on the planet to fuel internal combustion indefinitely, and I want future generations to enjoy the same personal freedom i have experienced with the automobile.

Item: 2019 Buick LaCrosse
The Enclave is probably nicer than any European or Asian SUV, regardless of price. GM is really, really getting these right. And from the people I know that own them, the new Buicks are probably actually more reliable than gravity. Bunch of people with well over 100K with nothing other than Brake pads, oil changes and tires. No dashboard squeaks, rattles, loose trim pieces, nothing. The only way GM could sweeten the pot would be to make the damned things self washing.

Item: 2019 Buick LaCrosse
Buick just so has it going on...I would so own a Buick over a BMW, something I would not have said a few years ago.

VW News: As the Diesel Emits: Volkswagen Plans On Slashing Prices In U.S. To Boost Sales
I am to the point that there are no European cars I want to own. Volkswagen builds a few things I like, but they have pretty much shot my interest with diesel gate and some other dumb decisions, MB does not build anything interesting, I do not even like the AMG stuff, BMW quality ahs gone in the toilet, and they are no longer interesting to drive. I have loved my MINI, but do not like the direction the brand has gone. I am ready to love me some Asian and American cars, methinks.
