  1. In the US they are Jeep, Trucks, retro Muscle cars and little else. One wonders what they will do when the price of fuel goes back up.
  2. I do not hate it, but for me the retro thing has grown old, even with the Gorgeous Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger.
  3. Quite happy with our current SE TDI but selling it back. I want something more engaging, like the Focus ST we test drove before we bought the Jetta. And yes, the Golf is a better car, I just needed something with a lockable trunk.
  4. Agreed, dated and odd design!
  5. I do like the Jetta, Golf and CC, rest of the lineup:
  6. Agree, dated interior and it just is not class competitive.
  7. TDI Jetta with a dsg here, it has been flawless for 43 thousand miles, as has the rest of the car.
  8. Glad to see you still posting here, nice write up. I like the New current gen cannot warm up to these. Agree on a Verano as the go to GM choice in this segment.
  9. They have battery issues..... The problem for the Civic Hybrid is the Pruis. The Civic Hybrid and Prius (Not the Prius C) are only $500 apart on base price, yet the Pruis has substantially better fuel economy averages in the city and almost equal on the highway. Prius has a resale and name recognition advantage also...
  10. Show me the numbers! Seriously. I am curious what everybody's fleet percentages are. Did you see this information somewhere or are you rehashing old info from when the old fleet whore 200 and Avenger were in production? I know FCA fleets a pretty high percentage of minivans and Compass/Patriot but what else? Fiat and Maserati will never be big volume adders in the U.S. The vast, vast majority of Chrysler's sales are of the pre-bankruptcy brands. You can try and spin the numbers any way you want. Bottom line is that Sergio's hodgepodge of brands put more vehicles in garages than Ford did last month. There's NO way to sugarcoat that for Ford. Indeed....
  11. Again, a revised golf and diesels are really helping them....
  12. I like the interior of the new Camaro much much better than Mustang. The mustang's interior is a bit of a let down after seeing the sexy exterior..... plus, I still loath Sync. The new Camaro is a much nicer car IMHO than the Mustang....I would buy the Camaro before I would buy the Mustang...
  13. Passat is much more practical, and has much better back seat room. Still a neat car though....
  14. LMAO! The gray haired set still has some brand loyalty perhaps....I never see them on the road around here.
  15. Everyone I know with a crossover wont give the damn things up. It's the rear hatch that makes things so convenient for loading. Keep in mind, these new crossovers at any size are faster and drive better than sedans did 10 years ago. Most people don't even realize they're missing out on "driving dynamics" compared to newer sedans (much less performance cars). A lot of women are shorter and like being able to see out of the darned things....and loading groceries and getting kids in car seats is often easier in an SUV/crossover.
  16. RE Compact/subcompact-It has taken a long time to rebuild brand equity....since they ahve done it with solid product, I expect them to keep incre.
  17. They are doing very well....the 200 is everywhere around here, seems like they ahve a winner on their hands.
  18. Moving in the right direction, still tons of work to be done....
  19. Hell is freezing over because Nissan and Chryco are now both building vehicles I am liking. Next up GMCtruckguy buys an F150 (just kidding Roger!)
  20. So far my new Jetta has been fantastic....it is a TDI. The new VW GTI takes care of the timing chain issues (tensioner issues) of the Mk 6 GTI. Reliability has been up as of late, but I would not expect it to be Toyota or GM level perhaps quite.... However, when I bought the MINI Cooper S, I figured it would be unreliable....however...it has been orders of magnitude more reliable than my fathers Toyota Highlander....go figure....
