  1. Jag F type is an epic car but is selling poorly here in America from what I understand.
  2. Opel is a hot disorganized mess. The problem is not the car, it is the lack of organization on the part of Opel.
  3. Skoda and Seat are part of the European marketing strategy and will not go away. Socialist European unions will be hell for VW to deal with as they do need to shed surplus capacity and reduce head count. Could be a way for Chrysler to become an independent American company again. Chrysler will probably never be independent and American again...
  4. I can agree on the seventies wagon thing....and on the 88/98 thing. I miss those cars, and loved having them around when I was a boy/teenager.
  5. Since the Routan worked out so well for VW.....ughhh.... I love their diesels and the GTI, but VW is pretty much irrelevant everywhere else. Audi does well here, but if Vw changes its product mix substantially, they could muck that up. We will see.... ...and since German ownership of Chrysler worked out so well when the Benz people owned it.... GM may well own the American automarket from the simple standpoint of all of the competition melting down doing stupid stuff.
  6. What modern cars do you like? Methinks your pretty much a body on frame SUV guy.
  7. All of the lower MPG vehicles until the next fuel price shock....which may be severe.
  8. Were I only to be buying a Korean sedan, Optima would be my choice. But honestly, this thing would sell me a Camry based on style alone.
  9. There was a warning on April second telling airlines to stay the hell out of that territory. Also, most of the previous flights on that route flew well south of the danger zone. While I do not condone shooting down MH 17 or Korean Ari Lines 007, some fault must go tot he crews and airlines for having their plane at the wrong place at the wrong time IMHO.
  10. It sells more than other small halo cars like the 370 Z, Miata, Boxster et al. However, its pretty much a less than stellar automobile in my opinion. I will not miss it if it goes.
  11. Actually, I love nature and I love machines. My real goal would be for us to have alternative fuels so that our great grand children can enjoy an escalade if they wish to. That being said, people love the room and seating position of cuv type vehicles. Americans have not gotten any smaller!
  12. A very solid car that is much better than an altima or such. Good review!
  13. I still would do the TDI with this, though. Guy I know with a TDI is pulling down close to fifty with this...
  14. Amazing. I wonder when performance tunes will come out for the diesel crude like they have for the VW TDI. The TDI guys are picking up economy with tunes.... Still, great numbers, Z!
  15. Along withe the new impala its actually one of my two favorite gm cars. I agree the New Denali's are sexy compared to the dog they replaced. Sexy enough to turn a small car lover like me into an SUV kind of guy!
  16. Outside of the diesels and the GTI, again, they are pretty much irrelevant in the USA. And the GTI will never be a huge seller, as people here do not want to pay upwards of 30K for a hatchback.
  17. On the other hand we cannot fix everything in the world and we cannot be the wolds policeman.
  18. Major airlines are now avoiding that airspace from what I hear. Very sad!
  19. In B4 SMK tells all of us that this is part of the ultimate plan of Mercedes's Benz to dominate the planet with superior product.
  20. Like in nineteen sixty five when everyone (Pontiac, Plymouth's Ford etal seemed to be going for the stacked head light look...
